For us, definitely Frasier.

Favourites include:

“Off you go…”

“Do I look like I scuba??”

”Fine! I guess I’ll just have to make my own tea!”

”I guess it must be too much to ask that there not be GUN PLAY in my living room!”

Friday night dinner quite a lot.
And if its raining, someone usually says "is it raining, I hadnt noticed" from the cringeworthy final scene in 4 weddings

sightingday · 16/03/2026 10:42

Only fools and horses
Gavin and Stacey
In a house where no one has ever played baseball “there’s no crying in baseball” gets said more than you would expect.

RaininSummer · 16/03/2026 10:43

I often channel Bulldog from Frasier when I lose something in plain sight. We are also often heard bemoaning that we don't have the 'needful skillage' for DIY (Poldark).

8TinyToeBeans · 16/03/2026 10:48

Currently Heated Rivalry..."is liar, liar told you that."

DP...far too much Simpsons.
Me...Last of the Summer Wine.

BillieWiper · 16/03/2026 10:52

The only show I ever remember the lines for enough to quote is the Simpsons. I know some of episodes from the 90s practically off by heart. Seeing as they put them on telly for six hours a day?!

If anyone asks what you want from the shop and you don’t want anything you just say “cornetto”.

Ha, yes us too 😄
You also have to ask 'Do you want anything from the shop?' In Shaun's exhausted, hungover voice.

When my sons ask me where something is, my response is always Kevin from Motherland's ' It's right THERE, Liz'

Definitely loads from Red Dwarf, Blackadder and Withnail.

HotBaths · 16/03/2026 10:53

There’s a lot of Sr Micheal from Derry Girls in our house.

‘I think it’s fair to say we all lost a bit of respect for you there, Clare.’

‘You will go far in life, Jenny, but you will not be well liked.’

‘I’d do it myself, but … I don’t want to.’

’You terrify me.’

And answering the phone with ‘You may speak’.

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 16/03/2026 10:54

Probably Taskmaster in this house, although Friends is likely a close second

PurpleLovecats · 16/03/2026 10:56

Gavin and Stacey here.

Snap!
Ours are The Princess Bride (Inconceivable! My name is Indigo Montoya etc) Coen Brother films (particularly O Brother and Big Lebowski) and lines from Cabin Pressure.

Any time we go away for a weekend it's that we've "R, U, N, N, O, F, T", if anyone comments on haircuts, "I'm a Dapper Dan Man", and anyone chiming in on a conversation they don't fully understand "Donny, you have no context here,' or "You're out of your depth, Donny."

Any time one of the kids asks for something out of the ordinary, "You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Dude."

Beware of Cabin Pressure. You don't need family road trips where no one EVER finishes playing Yellow Car. Trust me on this one.

labradorservant · 16/03/2026 11:03

Friday night dinner. We checked the family’s use of shalom with our Jewish friends.

user593 · 16/03/2026 11:05

Peep Show and The Thick of It.

PeeledOranges · 16/03/2026 11:05

We do a little bit The A-Team here,

"I pity the fool" and "I love it when a plan comes together"!

And many many others mentioned here too!

ChessieFL · 16/03/2026 11:06

Fawlty Towers. ‘What shape do you want it to be? Mickey Mouse shape? Amphibious landing craft shape? Poke in the eye shape?’

Gavin and Stacey
Friends
Miranda
Father Ted

RememberBeKindWithKaren · 16/03/2026 11:08

We all say "NOT Donnie Darko !". when people are talking about what movie they most enjoy.

This isn't a great answer to the exact question here but similar sort of thing

MsGreying · 16/03/2026 11:10

Polka Dot shorts "Coincidence, I think not"

Father Ted. That'll be an ecumenical matter.
I've said that far too many times to people who just never watched it.

numberblocks54321 · 16/03/2026 11:10

The Nightmare before Christmas :
“Jack, please! I’m only an elected official , I can’t make decisions by myself!” - I say this at least once a day when overwhelmed by the kids !

Lots and lots of lines from that film quoted by both me and DH every single day

flagpolesitta · 16/03/2026 11:12

The it crowd or Gavin and Stacey

GrillaMilla · 16/03/2026 11:15

Do you want a cup of tea Ern

We're gonna need a bigger (whatever!)

drspouse · 16/03/2026 11:15

Dad's Army - Don't panic!
Blackadder - Cunning plan.
The DCs haven't seen these though so they tend to fall flat.

Starlight1979 · 16/03/2026 11:17

LER83 · 15/03/2026 15:18

We quote lots from National Lampoon Christmas Vacation, so many good ones from that film! Also quite a few from Friday Night Dinner. Most quoted line though is probably 'I don't know the code skipper' from Madagascar! Said in the penguin voice of course!

"Smile and wave boys, just smile and wave" 😁

ConstanzeMozart · 16/03/2026 11:31

Black Books. There is a Black Books quote or moment for EVERYTHING.
Including:
'Oh and aaahh' when DP or I remember something we were going to say to the other.
'Some kind of delicious biscuit' when we're not sure what something is or tastes of.
'WILL YOU LEAVE ME ALONE' and/or 'I'M BROWSING' if one of us misunderstands and over-reacts to something.
'This is misc and these ones are... other' for things we're confused about/having trouble sorting.
'A REALLY nice box of pencils' when talking about what to get someone as a present.
'Oh, the dust' when cleaning/sorting/pulling out a sofa etc to see a cloud of dust.
'Nice arse' when perving over someone.
'I got you... creme de menthe' when returning from the shop with something for the other person.
'Well, you can expect away' when anyone huffs about expecting better.
'I don't know, I just called her Ma!' when one of us is baffled by something.

I could go on and on

ConstanzeMozart · 16/03/2026 11:31

user593 · 16/03/2026 11:05

Peep Show and The Thick of It.

Oh yes. 'Come the fuck in or fuck the fuck off' is very handy, I find.

Poppy61 · 16/03/2026 11:34

And away!
Four candles
There's more, but all I can think of for now
