Reform has so much cash sloshing about I am not sure they'd care. Have you seen the competition Farage launched today? The lucky winner will get their fuel bill paid for a year along with the rest of their street.

NEW: Reform UK risks breaching data protection laws with its competition to win free energy bills for a year, lawyers & data experts warn.

And how do they know

tobee · 17/03/2026 22:03

I was reading on “another forum” a theory that Trump only asked NATO for help so when they turned him down he could blame the failure in Iran on the rest of NATO; also underlining his it’s all one way - USA helps us, we don’t support the USA. Even suggesting Putin told Trump to ask for help knowing full well it would cause a rift, be an excuse for USA to withdraw from the organisation. Seems highly feasible to me.

Also, on that forum, was a discussion asking what posters thought about Biden and his presidency. People citing how Biden was immediately talked about in a poisonous and derogatory way, from the get go. Pretty much the way the narrative that “everyone hates Starmer” was pushed the moment he got into office. I’ve seen this discussed on Mumsnet here (with regards to Starmer), many posters puzzled by the extreme use of the term “hate”.

Fucking Jenrick on Newsnight. Is it part of reforms remit that they never shut up and listen, let alone allow others to speak.

He is such a twat.

placemats · 17/03/2026 22:49

Jenrick is on Newsnight and basically said that Brexit was a failure, failure, failure, failure etc ( said it several times) all within his first paragraph and he

BLAMED it on the LAST

Government i.e

the TORIES

Plus I'm timing how long he's speaking and it's currently 15 minutes.

placemats · 17/03/2026 22:52

And counting.

Notonthestairs · 17/03/2026 23:01

He’ll say anything. Just give him a sniff of power and he’ll tell you what you want to hear.

A Remainer then a Brexit enthusiast.
Now he’s playing That’s Not My Brexit.

Is this possibly the push towards a reunion with the EU for Reform UK?

Policy wise 🤭

placemats · 17/03/2026 23:44

We, Reform UK, want to reconnect with the EU and at the same time hate the immigration fluff and nonsense.

It's a bit Trump and rebranding. Not going to end well.

DuncinToffee · 18/03/2026 08:32

I agree with Angela Rayner on this

So do I.

PandoraSocks · 18/03/2026 09:22

Me too.

PickAChew · 18/03/2026 09:32

Yes, I've just read the BBC article about it and she's absolutely right.

placemats · 18/03/2026 09:58

She's a powerful, enigmatic woman with a huge amount of energy coupled with cross party respect. I agree with Rayner as well.

Government to lift paywall from large parts of the Land Registry

Exclusive: finding out who owns land will become simpler under plans to make the best use of green spaces and hit net zero targets

Well so would I. My street isn't that big, and probably has a couple of Reform voters, though they don't display any signs, however, I would have thought that it'll be a street with 5 houses or, ideally, fewer.

Not all land is in the registry, of course ...

Mine is over a mile long 😏

Unfortunately, not many houses have it as their address and we had our council elections last year.

SerendipityJane · 18/03/2026 11:04

Aye, but it would mean you no longer have to pay to find out what absentee grifter bought the house next door and thinks it's OK to employ cowboy builders who fill the front garden with the debris from other houses they've bodged up, smoke weed and play loud music while bodging and leave the roof with no gutters so that the rain from a very wet summer pisses all over the front of your own house, causing damp.

I looked up what Nick Timothy had posted Shock

https://bsky.app/profile/sundersays.bsky.social/post/3mhcbuxolw22j

Open Iftar project has held events in Trafalgar Square since 2019. Eg: 2023. Easter, Chanukah Diwali + Vaisakhi also marked annually at Trafalgar Square.

Nick Timothy - the Shadow Lord Chancellor - says "it shouldn't happen again" claiming it was "an act of domination and therefore division"

I love all the pictures of other events in Trafalgar Square. I also enjoyed the post pointing out Timothy’s dearth of qualifications for the shadow job he holds.

PickAChew · 18/03/2026 12:29

Trafalgar square belongs to all of us. But not them. Apparently.

So is he claiming the Diwali and Hanukkah events were also acts of domination that must be stopped?
