A few months back according to the media it was Reform's for the taking - now it's a three-way bet between Labour, Greens and Reform

Way to go to avoid my point.

Where did Labour use Modi as a reason not to vote?

Why did the Greens?

I don't know why they used Modi on some oftheir leaflets

Your point is that it needs scrutiny?

Because of the bad blood between India and Pakistan. ‘Vote for us, we hate your country of origin’s enemies’

Wow... with that line of reasoning we should stop Catholics and many people of faith coming to live in the UK as they may also be homophobic.. your comment shows a lack of critical thinking I'm afraid.

Which Catholic countries have made homosexuality illegal or punishable by death?

So you do want all Muslims banned from the UK. Finally. It's only taken us 21 pages to get there.

Based on what evidence?

I disagree and don't see similar views at all amongst Christians - but I'm happy to be corrected if you have links to show otherwise.

This would also have to be amongst all people who describe their faith as Christian (not just evangelical Christians) just as the survey was amongst those who describe their faith as Muslim.

This is an interesting article on Judaism - showing in fact that it too is not a homogeneous mass of single opinion. Just like Muslims.

https://www.myjewishlearning.com/article/orthodox-judaism-and-lgbtq-issues/

This page tells the same story about Christianity:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christian_denominational_positions_on_homosexuality

The point I am making is that you can't judge a faith's position on homosexuality (or anything else) en bloc. So why is it acceptable to do so for Islam but not for Judaism or Christianity?

I have met evangelicals who practiced male headship, condemned homosexuality in all its forms, believed hitting children is acceptable and that abortion should be banned - they worked in the same place I do. They didn't stay, because they could not manage to be civil and stop evangelising in the workplace although they knew it was inclusive and had several gay team members. These people came across on the surface as pleasant and civilised, but their attitudes were stone age.

I condemn homophobia in everyone of faith or not. What I don't do is take an entire faith and condemn all of its members, nor do I go looking for conspiracies in any such groups.

I wouldn't respect Reform as our Govt in the same way I never respected the Tories, but I would respect the right of their supporters to vote them in power, in the same way I would hope they'd respect my wish to vote for someone else.

Thank you for your honest answer. But you do realise it's nonsensical though, right? it would take tens of millions of Muslims coming into the country to get enough votes to do that.

If I'm reading the figures correctly, the number of migrants to the UK last year was under a million, while 700,000 people left our shores. So net migration was about 200k. Even if all of them were Muslims, that's not going to make much of a dent in the voting.

Why are you assuming Muslims are all immigrants and therefore the numbers are only propped up by those arriving from abroad?

I was responding directly to YOUR comment about Muslim immigrants - which I see has now been deleted.

To be clear, @Playingvideogames, I condemn homophobia unequivocally. Just like I condemn racism.

Are you now also proposing to remigrate British Muslims?

I chose Orthodox Jews and Evangelical Christians - nice way to misrepresent me, but I don't expect anything else from you.

My point is that all faiths have their extremists.

I also have no desire to destroy Israel - why would you think that? You do love leaping to conclusions.

1dayatatime · 27/02/2026 12:19

Anyway here's a not too subtle election video from the Green Party aimed at the Muslim voters:

Dear Lord, it's painful.

I would say, yes, it deserves scrutiny that a political party is pitting Pakistan against India in a UK election.

Have you reported it to the UK Electoral Commission?

I agree that all faiths have extremists, it's just that some faiths have a higher preponderance of extremists. For example I can't remember the last time there was a Hindu or Sikh terrorist attack in the UK.

Equally all faiths have those with extremists views that are incompatible with a Western liberal democracy. It's just that some faiths have a higher preponderance of such views as the survey I linked shows.

No, why would I? If you believe that only election fraud is problematic, that's very worrying for the country.

I’m not engaging with you. You’ve demonstrated your prejudice over and over on this thread. I’m clearly going to make no difference to your frankly irrational illogical largely misinformed views so I’m out. Good bye.

Because that would be the first step to scrutiny.

Reform's leaflets were referred to court because they were reported.

What do you want to do about it if you don't want to report it?

I don't know about Sikhs, but there have been major terrorist attacks by Hindu extremists in India. Mostly aimed at Muslims.

The last terror attack committed in the UK was a couple of days ago in Manchester. it was a couple of white fellers going into a mosque armed with axes. Largely buried by the right-wing press of course.
