I hate saying his name.
The vile creature who killed Holly and Jessica in 2002. Has been seriously assaulted in prison.

Good. I hope he is in extreme pain and dies from this. But slowly and without adequate pain relief.

plantseeds · 26/02/2026 15:34

I think a lot of people just like showing what good people they are by being happy at his injury and possible death. I mean, it must be bloody horrible for the staff, it takes NHS resources away from other emergency cases (maybe think of that when you’re lining up to shake the prisoners hand) and it costs taxpayers money to sort but hey, you’re a good person for celebrating it right?

He is the personification of evil who killed two children. He deserves to suffer the consequences, and if one of those happens to be getting attacked in prison, then tough. Shit happens. Serves him right.

PuppiesProzacProsecco · 26/02/2026 16:25

I hope he recovers slowly and painfully so he can be attacked again once he's feeling better. And then again after that. And again ad infinitum. And that's too good for the sick fuck.

FlyingApple · 26/02/2026 16:25

You can't shame me into not being happy he was attacked.

SirChenjins · 26/02/2026 16:27

MyThreeWords · 26/02/2026 16:19

Yes. Agree, and I think that this motive for celebrating the violence may be the same as the motivations of the prisoners who attacked him.
People in prison enforce a rigid hierarchy of crimes as a way to feel less shit about themselves. Assaulting someone whose crime is more atrocious than their own soothes their sense of guilt for their crime and allows them to minimise it.

Attacking Huntley also buys them status. One thing that for sure is NOT a part of their motivation is any genuine concern for women and girls. Like a lot of men inside and outside of prison, they use the concept of 'protecting women' as a pretext for their own male-focused games.

Status and self-esteem. Achieved with a metal pole by the prisoners who attacked him, and achieved with gleeful words in celebration of violence by posters on this thread.

I have absolutely no interest in or concern for the reasons he was attacked - none whatsoever. If it was drugs, fine. If it was a status thing, so be it. The reasons are completely irrelevant to me - I don't care enough about his safety or wellbeing to give the reasons why he was attacked a second thought.

Great, and if your dad didn’t get vital treatment because the surgeons were dealing with Huntley or an ambulance was delayed going to your friend that’s just collateral damage right?

He is not the ‘personification of evil.’ He is one of many cowardly bastards with a nasty temper and a penchant for young girls. There are hundreds like him.

ChaToilLeam · 26/02/2026 16:29

That's what happens to child killers in jail. Even hardened criminals despise them.

Boomer55 · 26/02/2026 16:29

onelumporthree · 26/02/2026 14:47

If they'd brought the death penalty back just for him, I don't think many people would have minded.

Well, he wouldn’t have done. He tried to kill himself. No, let him rot in jail.

BoudiccaRuled · 26/02/2026 16:30

BatchCookBabe · 26/02/2026 14:43

Yeah, I am sick of the press telling is that he has been assaulted. Every. Single Time. Just let us know when he's dead. Why do we need to be told every single time he receives a kicking?!

I agree with you but just had a thought - do potential paedophile predators stop to think every time they see he's been attacked? He must be living in constant fear, more or less. Would that be a deterrent for some? (I know the death penalty isn't a deterrent, but living in fear is quite different.)

Piknik · 26/02/2026 16:34

Irrespective of the awfulness of his crimes, there is something very ugly about those who celebrate and encourage extreme violence.

I agree. I hate the vigilante vitriol and all the 'not all heroes wear capes' brigade. It's just more horrific violence.

This has nothing to do with what I think of IH - I am as appalled, horrified and disgusted by his crimes as anyone here. I wish nothing but a miserable existence rotting in a miserable cell (or even better, hard labour in a Siberian/Russian Gulag style prison) for him.

I can understand those who knew and loved H&J feeling anything they want, But I just can't get behind the idea of strangers to everyone involved celebrating extreme violence.

When I was a teen a very good friend of mine in the same A 'level English class was raped & murdered. Her lovely mother was a devout Christian & wrote to him & visited him in jail in the hope that he would understand what he'd done, the impact it had had on their family & thus save his eternal soul. Regretfully she was disappointed.

She was a remarkable woman in doing this, but she was also thinking about her eternal soul in seeking to forgive him & save his soul. I don't think that I could ever forgive I'd want him to live long & suffer abuse, worrying about being attacked, what people were putting in my food all that kind of thing.

How can anyone forgive anyone for ANYthing if they're not sorry?

I get that Christians are meant to 'forgive.' But surely the perpetrator has to ask/beg for forgiveness. How can you forgive someone who's not sorry for what they did?

Sod that, they can stay in purgatory.

Oh, that makes it all right then.

How old was your daughter when Huntley committed his crimes?

NotnowMildrid · 26/02/2026 16:41

@MyThreeWords
You cannot ever be 100% sure what the perpetrator’s motivation was behind the attack, as you are not the perpetrator.

Whatever the reason, GOOD.

Can you explain how you think killing him, a double child killer, would be as bad as what he did?

Because as the pp says, civilised society has to be better. The death penalty can't be brought back for one person, deserving or not. That's not now a criminal justice system works. It either is reinstated or it's not. I'd rather pay tax for someone like him to stay in prison than live in a country where legal murder is permitted with the risk of innocent people being killed in error.

They are doing more than the courts.
They are giving out proper justice.
There's been a few recently and there will be more.

Being fed and watered by the state every day is not justice for someone like Huntley. Why does he have a bed and not the floor?
Some people who haven't committed crime can't afford a bed.

Not to mention the cost to the taxpayer. Apart from a few dogooders the general public are quite rightly sick of the justice system.

I mean the people who are saying they're happy about it, saying they hope he's in pain, etc.

PolkaDotPorridge · 26/02/2026 15:50

How does it make you feel sick? You DO pity a man that brutally abused and murdered two little girls is basically what you’re saying. It makes ME feel sick when I think about his victims. Save your sympathy for them and their families.

I only have sympathy for the girls and their families. I also do not enjoy the thought of human suffering, full stop.

Netcurtainnelly · 26/02/2026 16:52

Simonjt · 26/02/2026 15:15

I hope the poor prison staff weren’t put at risk, people who don’t mind prisoners being attacked need to remember that attacks put the lives and wellbeing of staff members at risk.

Yes I feel sorry for the staff.
They work with the dregs of society every day how depressing.
What about the doctors who have to treat him. Must be horrible.

And how would you feel if a prisoner was injured or killed and was subsequently found to be wholly innocent?

Exactly. We should be able to keep prisoners safe. This is only being publisised because he is notorious. Nearly half of all prisoners are assaulted every year and that's just the ones that are reported. And we seem to hope that they will somehow come out improved people.

Nosejobnelly · 26/02/2026 16:57

He's not bloody innocent he's a scumbag who murdered two young girls and assaulted and raped various others.
That's why he and a few other scums have been attacked lately.

I'm sure he's very grateful for your support.😆
It will always happen in prison, the best thing is not to go in there in the first place isn't it. Then you won't be attacked in there.

It's always a choice.

I am not clear whether this is suggesting that anyone with a daughter who was ten circa 2002 will have a particularly strong response to this crime and delight in Huntley’s assault or whether it is suggesting that if I don’t have a daughter I won’t understand. I do have a daughter but she is only two. I don’t think escalating brutality and violence is ever something that’s going to be a positive thing, regardless of how many daughters I have or their age.
