Mine is I can remember the barcode for a Cadbury crème egg. I worked in a co-op over twenty years ago and they often didn’t scan so you had to put the number in and I can still remember it.

There are no bridges over the Amazon River.

And the mouth of the Amazon is wider than the distance between London and Paris when it's rainy season.

99% of human history was in the Stone Age.

I love random facts!

There is no such species as a panther. They are jaguars with the ‘spot’ gene missing!

DrivingonIce · 25/02/2026 20:06

Umm... wouldn't that be prehistory?

All Tesco Clubcards start with 634004.

The bobbing along under the sea song from bedknobs and broomsticks was written for Mary Poppins but not used.

My landline number from 20 years ago.

I can remember the phone number we had in the house I lived in until 1967 (when I was 6).

Mind you, it only had 4 numbers!

There are more canals in Birmingham than Venice

OOh no! I didn't know there's a song! Does it go to a well known tune?

It probably is well-known but I can't think what the original words might've been. It's kind of like Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, but not that.

MrsMoastyToasty · 25/02/2026 20:20

Edinburgh is further west than Bristol.

NormasArse · 25/02/2026 20:22

Thanks everyone. Interesting facts
I can remember the reg on my dads white cortina from 45yrs ago, no idea why i've remembered that

Same here. I used it as my internet password for a long time. My dad's Cortina was grey! It's funny, because I can't remember the registrations of any of the cars I've owned. Can barely remember my current one!

I can remember my childhood postcode (80’s - early 90’s) yet can’t remember some of the more recent ones GrinGrin

I've just had a look on YouTube . . . there seem to be a lot of different versions! Makes it easier for children to learn and, from our experience, once learned, never forgotten!

That newborn baby smell everyone loves?
It's the smell of their brain through the soft spots that haven't formed properly in the first few days/weeks after birth
Also why the newborn smell fades, skin over soft spot forms thicker

You WHAT? My favourite smell in the world is BRAIN?! 😂

You cannot hum if you hold your nose fully.

Polar bears are left handed.

My daughter helpfully told me today that if all the kangaroos in Australia invaded Jamaica that each Jamaican would have to fight 14 kangaroos.

081 811 81811 or the more modern version 0181 811 8181

Edited to ask, how many of you are singing that number now?

Edited

I still remember it through singing it too 😂😂

Bananas are herbs.

And starting to peel them from the end that was once connected to the hand (i.e. UK way) is thought both rude and wrong in some countries!

CautiousOptimist · 25/02/2026 20:35

All the colours in Joseph’s Coat of Many Colours. I was in the choir when Jason Donovan was Joseph in the 90s and still remember every word. I think it’s with me forever!
