Boris Johnson had parties at Downing Street while countless ordinary people died alone and distressed in hospital because of the rules he imposed.

Yet he got a fixed penalty notice. How was his abuse not misconduct in public office?

GrooveArmada · 23/02/2026 17:54

Why?

I am asking seriously. It's good if so, by why Gordon Brown?

Timing I guess. He was PM and appointed Mandelson, and the connection was there with Epstein who was arrested.

The process is the punishment remember
Not a lot can or will happen to them but the humiliation of being publicly arrested will be pretty grim for these people

He should have been arrested a long time ago along with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Despicable sleazeballs the pair of them! It’s a pity Virginia Giuffre had to die by suicide before anyone took any notice. May she now rest in peace.

👏

Im a cynic but I wonder if GB knew more at the time and is trying to cover that up by being so co-operative now?

No. I doubt it. He's pretty straight-laced I think.

Hmm but notice that they were arrested by plains clothes officers driving unmarked cars. Nor were they handcuffed.

That is manifestly special treatment.

That's a bit harsh on toads.

PeonyPatch · 23/02/2026 18:07

Good.

IDespairOfTheHumanRace · 23/02/2026 18:08

I wonder....

Is it his birthday today and his arrest is an extra special birthday surprise like that of Mr Windsor, the sleaze formerly known as 'Prince'?

So how will this affect Starmer?

WTF?! Evidence of that claim is definitely needed.

I would find that very difficult to believe. He seems to be on the right side of many issues, hacking is another area where he hasn't held back.

The only place I've ever seen that mentioned I'd Reddit. Which tells you everything I would say.

BlueMoonBlueCheese · 23/02/2026 18:15

I believe there are messages from Mandelson to Epstein slagging off Gordon Brown from when Labour were in power so I'm sure he's relishing the chance to twist the knife.

billysboy · 23/02/2026 17:22

lucky he had time to get rid of all his laptops and devices

But his two addresses were searched by the police a couple of weeks ago, perhaps they’ve discovered something from those searches that justified arresting him?

Epstein was arrested in 2008 so he would have known of his crimes.

GB appointed PM as Ambassador to the States I believe.

Fucking brilliant. I've always been a fan of Gordon Brown, it seems he's coming into his own here. Blair next please.

The only place I want to see Blair is in The Hague on trial for war crimes.
