Had my eyes tested, finally I need to take action about my cataracts. Still mulling it over so I've gone away to discuss things with DH, work out what prescription to end up with etc. My first thought was delay until next year, but that's only because I feel there's a lot going on at the moment...actually it will all take my mind off the op (s).

martha79 · 12/03/2026 13:40

Sorry you've had such a tough day @MewithME - definitely have a good therapeutic cry!

Hope you can figure out the best timing for the op @TeaAndStrumpets

Singing group was nice although I managed to join a particularly energetic one for my first session and it was pretty tiring. Seems to be a mix of people who do/ did choir singing regularly like me and those who've taken it up with the online group as a health/ sociable thing.

Food delivery has come, all no-cook, easily assembled things for the next few days then I've got a Frive ready meal delivery on Sunday - used to get them a while ago and they're mostly really nice.

Dozymoo42 · 12/03/2026 13:55

Sending love to you @MewithME don’t be embarrassed crying they should be embarrassed by their lack of empathy! Glad at least someone was nice to you in the end being a decent human costs nothing and is worth the world!
@martha79 Glad you enjoyed your singing sounds lovely , enjoy your rest now.

@Myfluffyblanket hello 👋 I'm a newbie & this lot are lovely. The big sofa is cosy & the kettle is on.

TodayIsatrickyone · 12/03/2026 14:48

Sorry to all those having difficult days today.

@MewithME I could feel the stress rising just reading your post, what a horrible situation. I absolutely would have burst into tears too, I find when my ME symptoms aren’t good, I’m a lot more prone to feeling teary. It’s hard enough dealing with feeling so unwell and trying to just function, that anything extra is too much sometimes.

Also in the exhausted club today. BP monitoring done but I really struggled to sleep with it inflating noisily every hour so not really functioning today. Have dozed a bit after the appointment and put off my MIL who wanted to pop in again as I just needed to be in bed.
Now on the sofa and will watch some fluff and nonsense that is Bridgerton!

TeaAndStrumpets · 12/03/2026 15:01

A warm welcome @Myfluffyblanket glad you found us!

Gosh that BP monitor would drive anyone mad @TodayIsatrickyone . We just finished the latest Bridgerton. It was great fun but you wouldn't watch it with your granny! Loved the costumes.

Hello. Missed your post earlier. Glad to have you aboard. We have a ginormous extendable sofa and a magic kettle.

MEcfs can get in the bin. It's really kicking me today.

@MewithME I am so sorry that sounds so stressful. I have been in situations similar and it's so awful. It's a horrible side effect of overdoing things. I hope you can get some rest

@Myfluffyblanket welcome! It's a lovely supportive thread

Im having a rough time. After all my talk of not knowing is I belonged in the chronic illness catergory I am now in a terrible flare.

Note to self: I wasn't cured, I was just pacing really well. Stop gaslighting myself!

I need a PA to help me keep on top of my life. I find pacing a cruel joke when single parenting plus not having a support network. Sorry for the moan.

On more positive note I did finally get the overgrown elderberry tree cut today which is a win.

I may try bridgerton. I need something fluffy to watch.

I have pillows, quilts, central heating, log fire, electric radiator and my fluffy blanket.
And my sweet JRT (who, like your girl, also struggled with phantom pregnancies before spaying at nine years old).
I rarely cry; I don't have the energy and if I had I wouldn't waste it on crying...but I'm close to it now.
Thank you for your welcome message.

Swanhilde · 12/03/2026 16:17

Stupidly busy day for a Thursday - audiologist, tax car, Lidl for Easter eggs, acupuncture, pottery class 🥴

Missed audiology appointment because we were late stuck in traffic. No flexibility, book again. Which I have done for 2 weeks time so THE DEAFNESS CONTINUES ... I don't cry now thanks to my antidepressants, but I tell you I almost did when she sent me packing this morning 😭

Thankfully everything else went smoothly and now I'm resting in bed with a cuppa ☕

Hugs and tea to those who need it ❤️

Attached are today's offerings to the kiln gods ...

Thread 6? Good grief..what are you up to today if you have chronic illness?

TeaAndStrumpets · 12/03/2026 16:20

Oh that's a shame @Swanhilde but you made some great things. Bed sounds the best place!

MewithME · 12/03/2026 16:33

@Tiredandwired2 I am sorry to hear you're having a flare up after doing so well. That's the cruel thing. You feel like you're doing well and the happy feeling kicks in and you start doing things and then over do it.

You'll get back to doing better again. I'm in the same boat. No support and no partner a d single parent. It's hard.

@Swanhilde sorry about the appointment. What a bloody nuisance. Loving your slightly mad creations though...keep going!

@Myfluffyblanket I do cry but try to avoid getting upset as you're right...it's not good...it's exhausting. I haven't cried for ages. It felt like a dam about to break this morning so it was hard to put the stopper back on! I know i am keeping a lot in and it needs to come out somehow.

TeaAndStrumpets · 12/03/2026 16:33

@Tiredandwired2 it sounds like it was really good pacing so that is a positive going forward. I know what you mean, when I'm OK I get quite cocky about my limits until I come crashing down again.

I hope you enjoy Bridgerton, it is quite fluffy and relaxing. Not great art but very well done. The same is true regarding the books, they are quite badly written but I read them avidly!

martha79 · 12/03/2026 16:51

Hello @Myfluffyblanket - lovely to have you here.

I'd happily take on a share of people's tearfulness - apart from a little bit last weekend, I've not cried for months and I feel like it would be good to get it all out! But maybe my mind/ body is doing some sort of protective thing and not allowing energy to be spent on that.

FuzzyPuffling · 12/03/2026 16:55

Whenever I go to the garage, I dump the car in the middle of the small, awkward car park, smile sweetly and hand over the keys.
When I pick it up, it's always impeccably parked, facing outwards. 😀

Perfect! They must be tremendously good at navigating their own car park.

Fluffy and relaxing bridgerton sounds great to me! 😄

I tried watching call the midwife. I stopped at some point years ago and couldn't remember where I left off so started again. In tears nearly every episode. I love it but I don't think I can manage constantly crying right now.

TodayIsatrickyone · 12/03/2026 17:24

Im only on season 2 of Bridgerton after being reminded of it on here. I find it entertaining and lighthearted so good for not great days when I can’t really concentrate on much. I’m loving the costumes too. Keep idly wondering how much storage you’d have needed for all those fabulous gowns!

Sorry you're in a flare @Tiredandwired2 Its always tough emotionally to go backwards but hopefully with careful pacing you can get back to a better baseline soon.
