Fluffy and relaxing bridgerton sounds great to me! 😄

I tried watching call the midwife. I stopped at some point years ago and couldn't remember where I left off so started again. In tears nearly every episode. I love it but I don't think I can manage constantly crying right now.

Maybe that's what I need to watch for some emotional release! A friend keeps recommending it as 'light' watching (I've seen the odd episode) but I feel like it'd be too much. Bridgerton was perfect, bit sad I've finished it all.

It can definitely be cathartic. The good thing is that it is heart warming too. It's one of my favourite shows

@Myfluffyblanket You just keep resting and cuddling your sweet girl! Animals are an amazing source of comfort x

Dozymoo42 · 12/03/2026 19:08

I absolutely love Bridgerton! But watched all 4 seasons now I have no restraint 😂 any other suggestions for easy watching shows?

I’ve been watching small prophets, you might like that

Period drama wise, my go to comfort easy watching shows are Downton Abbey and p&p but it has to be the one with Colin Firth

MewithME · 12/03/2026 20:33

I just finished it @JewelleryCat . Thought it'd be right up my street but I'm not at all sure about it.

Going to go soak in the bath with some Epsom salts and a podcast I think. I've got into The Rest is History lately. Loads of episodes.

We missed Downton Abbey when it was first shown but caught up during lockdown. It really was good. There is such acting talent in this country.

I enjoyed Small Prophets, a bit of quirky humour and a good cast. I just can't watch anything violent or sad these days.

TeaAndStrumpets · 12/03/2026 21:22

@Dozymoo42 there are some good comedies on iPlayer, Mandy is great if that appeals, also Alma's Not Normal was very watchable. Alma's Grandma was played by the housekeeper from Bridgerton. Small world in tv land!

MewithME · 12/03/2026 21:35

Loved Alma!

Loved Alma!

All the cast were at the top of their game. Funny and touching, so hard to pull off.

MewithME · 12/03/2026 21:55

Yes. Quite raw. I think it worked because it was true. Lorraine Wotsit is brilliant and Siobhan Finneran, though they must be about the same age really.

Thank you all I will add these to my watchlist 😊 I’ve watched a discovery of witches this week whilst I was off - one of my faves loved the book aswell!

martha79 · 13/03/2026 07:16

I'll have to pick up Downton Abbey again. Currently bingeing Doc Martin for about the third time.

Got a 1 on the Visible app this morning and I'm definitely feeling it. Had an evening of horrible shakiness and tight muscles, and a night of very overactive brain. Still, it's sunny this morning and all I have to do today is get to the doctor's for my tests.

Swanhilde · 13/03/2026 09:32

Watch out for the singing @martha79 . Over-using my voice causes me PEM. Took me a while to put the 2 together but I didn't know I had a breathing disorder until the LC clinic diagnosed it.

Take it easy ❤️

Swanhilde · 13/03/2026 09:33

Sun's out, off to the allotment in a bit ☀️🌱🥾

TeaAndStrumpets · 13/03/2026 10:11

@Swanhilde that's interesting, I always feel shattered after talking too long but perhaps it's my lungs not my brain!

Humming and singing are said to be good for the vagus nerve though so maybe there's a happy medium?

martha79 · 13/03/2026 11:39

That is interesting @Swanhilde - I definitely need to be careful not to overdo it. I suspect a bit of it is down to the new thing/ new people element of yesterday, on top of a stressy few days at work.

I've been back in bed for a couple of hours with one of my cats horizontal across my chest the whole time, feel a bit better for that.

Orangesandlemons77 · 13/03/2026 11:56

I would love a cat, maybe one day...

Just been battling with the washing and clearing up, had a bath and now back in bed.

It's meant to be cold tomorrow but then warming up hopefully.

Have MIL coming over tomorrow but DH is working so not sure about that. Maybe I can say he's working and we can miss a week.

Got an email about persistent lack of homework for DS (17) not good. Will have to chat with him later. He's doing A levels and thought he was keeping up ok, it seems not.

To be honest I am fed up with school now, emails etc. Have a 4 yr gap with DC so seems to have been going on forever.

I am totally fed up with school / terms / homework etc and also food prep / cooking.

Sorry not very positive here. Pain is not too bad I suppose.

Hoping for a good day for all Flowers

CoffeeBeansGalore · 13/03/2026 12:25

Afternoon all.
Sunny here but cold. Lazy morning.

@Orangesandlemons77 sympathies re school. Less than 2yrs between my girls but then a 6 yr gap after surprise ds. Thankfully all now left school. Ds is at local uni. One more year after the end of this term. Thankfully he's pretty self sufficient.
Hang on in there. The end is in sight!

Tiredandwired2 · 13/03/2026 12:40

A few more ideas to add to my watchlist. Especially downtown. I started watched ghosts yesterday evening which was enjoyable. Can't watch Bridgeton with the kids around!

Few errands done and now I will slowly chip away at searching for a private child psychologist for my DD. Seem to be like gold dust!

Im surprisingly a bit better today after resting yesterday so bouncing back quicker.

@martha79 I wish my cat would cuddle like that. He's a funny cat. Mostly attacks me. Such a diva! My 30kg Labrador on the other hand thinks he is a lap dog and sits on me whenever he can!

Dozymoo42 · 13/03/2026 12:42

Well I have truly embraced Friday the 13th this year with a lovely fall downstairs from top to bottom on my bottom 🤦‍♀️ scared my poor son too death !
A bit sore going to pop up to A&E to get checked don’t think I have done anything serious more bumps and bruises but getting checked to put everyone’s minds to rest.

MewithME · 13/03/2026 12:44

Oh my god @Dozymoo42 ... That's scary. Hope you're ok. Must be v shaken up. Go easy for next day or two. Adrenaline can do weird things.

@Dozymoo42 Ouch! Hope your ok. Always best to get checked to be on the safe side. Hope the A&E visit isn't too long 🤞

Thanks @MewithME to make it worse it’s my sons driving test 😭 hoping it doesn’t have a effect on him!
my coordination is pants at the minute it was only last month I fell and got a hairline fracture in my wrist, does anyone else feel like their coordination is off when they are fatigued?

MewithME · 13/03/2026 12:50

I can certainly feel unsteady when I am fatigued and brain fog I think can impact coordination.

I am somewhere close to actual menopause these days but when I was having regular periods, I was always mega clumsy with hormonal wobbles!
