@Dozymoo42 bless her. Our family dog used to do that when I was a kid.

It happens everytime she’s in season think we going to have to get her spayed as she get gets quite upset whilst it’s going on and it’s really not fair on her.

TeaAndStrumpets · 11/03/2026 08:23

Dozymoo42 · 10/03/2026 22:28

@TeaAndStrumpets this is a pic of her current babies and the blanket she is wrapping them in 😢 she’s currently loudly voicing her displeasure at the fact that I won’t take her down 2 flights of stairs to bring more babies to my bedroom 😂

Oh poor old dog she must be confused!

Mind you DD1's male Jack Russell stole a toy pheasant from DD2's female dog and treats it like a baby. All his other toys are mangled and filthy but this he carries very gently and tucks into his basket! He will bring it out to show visitors, then snuggles it back in his bed.

Dozymoo42 · 11/03/2026 12:30

Bless him! It’s not so much the having of the babies it’s the restlessness that’s coming with it she sounds so sad when she’s crying.

Had big plans for cleaning this week whilst I am off but with being up all night I am exhausted 😢 so hubby has said nothing but brews and rest until he’s back

I think brews and rest is just the ticket!

martha79 · 11/03/2026 16:28

Oh poor dog and you @Dozymoo42

Brews and rest sound excellent. I've just finished work for the week and I'm very glad, between the volume of work and the amount of stressing going on (other people, not me, I'm always the calming influence but that is also exhausting).

Trying an online singing group tomorrow with a local chronic illness charity - I was in a couple of choirs before and really miss that. The making music online aspect is slightly giving me lockdown flashbacks, but hopefully it'll be fun.

TodayIsatrickyone · 11/03/2026 16:42

Hope today is better @MewithME and hope you get a better night @Dozymoo42

My little dog got obsessed with a squeaky chicken and soft toy duck that came from her first home and kept putting them in her bed. However she’s recently torn the leg off one and the head off another so I’m hoping she’s over that! I actually sat and sewed the ducks head back on so she could take it to the vets with her during her recent spay.

BP monitor on today and MIL decided to pop in! Dog was really reactive again so not sure it’s done my BP readings a lot of good!

Swanhilde · 11/03/2026 17:09

Home and my working week is done. On schedule, I'm feeling better. Currently enjoying a hot cross bun and cuppa in bed ☕

Chilli chicken stir fry for tea c/o DH 😋

Although my energy has improved, I'm going to have an early night as I have another busy day tomorrow and hopefully a fully hoovered ear 🤞

@MewithME it's Wednesday 📯

TeaAndStrumpets · 11/03/2026 17:17

What a nice day it's been! I was inspired to potter around tidying, that's the sunshine for you.
@martha79 online singing sounds great fun.

@TodayIsatrickyone your MIL has a lot to answer for! Hope your basic BP is OK, presumably you note what you've been doing?

@Swanhilde good luck with your ear!

TodayIsatrickyone · 11/03/2026 17:57

@TeaAndStrumpets I wasn’t told to but I might make a rough note of times I did what today just in case they ask! Glad the sunshine gave you some inspiration to potter! I love a good potter!

Enjoy your singing @martha79

And happy Wednesday claxon day @Swanhilde

CoffeeBeansGalore · 11/03/2026 18:26

Evening all. Gorgeous weather here today. Dd2 took me to get my hair cut. Long overdue!
Dgd (15 months) behaved beautifully.
It was so nice to get out.
They stayed for a few hours when we got back. I'm tired but it was lovely 😊.

@TodayIsatrickyone Mils can be stressful. Thankfully I don't have to deal with mine anymore.
@Dozymoo42 hope little dog is ok.
@Swanhilde you are making me crave hot cross buns!

ViciousCurrentBun · 11/03/2026 18:29

I reacted badly to a prescribed heart drug and ended up being blue lighted to hospital last month. Took 3 weeks to recover, did my back in from retching and vomiting for 12 hours. Now under physio who I saw yesterday and of course I am very sore plus I have had a bad cold for a week. I managed a very short walk of 20 minutes and hung up some washing to say I am exhausted is an understatement. I have a scoliosis already and now have incorrect movement of my scapula and a tightened long muscle on one side. To be honest I felt really down about it all this afternoon.

Oh dear that sounds awful. I hope things improve soon Flowers

Me with ME on the blue badge renewal, if you include the diagnosis letter and get an updated letter from the GP saying things are the same, maybe that would work?

CoffeeBeansGalore · 11/03/2026 19:37

@ViciousCurrentBun So sorry, that's awful. Hope the physio helps.

TeaAndStrumpets · 11/03/2026 19:51

@ViciousCurrentBun so sorry to hear that. When a miserable time you've been having. I hope you can get some relief soon. X

Dozymoo42 · 11/03/2026 21:01

Thanks @TodayIsatrickyoneand @CoffeeBeansGalore I have my fingers crossed!🤞

MewithME · 11/03/2026 22:36

Yes, I'm hoping that's what will work @Orangesandlemons77 I will have spent about £200 on GP letters by then! Dreadful isn't it? It's literally the only help I can practically get and it costs £50 a pop.

@ViciousCurrentBun how could you not feel down! That's a lot! 💐

I am beyond exhausted tonight. I had to chair a meeting which over ran much to my annoyance as I couldn't stop one of the panelists from going on too much 🫩

@CoffeeBeansGalore glad you had a nice day.

@Swanhilde thanks for the klaxon. I am WFH for next couple of days at last. I've been in X3 days in a row and my body isn't happy about it. All palpitations and twitches and can't keep my eyes open since I got home.

Nn all. Sleep well x zzzzzz

In brief...
Cat went missing. Turned up 12 hours later. Much relief, but awful sleep.

DH to hospital today and tomorrow. I am support person. Luckily I am practised at this.

Already looking forward to bedtime tonight!

Hope everyone has a decent day.

martha79 · 12/03/2026 07:56

@ViciousCurrentBun that sounds awful, I hope things calm down for you.

Glad the cat came back @FuzzyPuffling

Another one in the exhausted club here - for the first time in a while I woke up in the middle of the night feeling hot, panicky, twitchy, sick, and so achy. I'm sure as a result of how busy and stressy work has been the last few days. Really glad I'm off today - going to try the online singing group, and need to get some groceries but otherwise taking it easy.

TeaAndStrumpets · 12/03/2026 08:30

Morning all!

I had a busy couple of days so feeling shattered last night. I went to bed at 9.30 and out like a light, but needed a wee at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep. I spent a few hours lying there so up at 6 ready for the day. Off for a long delayed eye test this morning. May choose some specs if my favourite dispenser is there...she is very patient with me!

Hope Mr Fuzzy isn't too bored in hospital, @FuzzyPuffling , and home soon in good spirits. Glad the cat reappeared!

The twitching is the worst @MewithME and for me is always a sign of extreme exhaustion. Hope you can pace a bit.

TeaAndStrumpets · 12/03/2026 08:32

Sounds like your day off is much needed @martha79 hope you enjoy the singing!

TeaAndStrumpets · 12/03/2026 08:41

I've only written two posts this morning and have caught about 8 typos/missing letters/extra letters. Probably still short of sleep! My poor brain.

MewithME · 12/03/2026 10:35

Well I've totally over done it the last few days with work. I knew I wouldn't manage and I am right that I am feeling absolutely horrendous this morning.

The car is in for the MOT. I am shaking and not at all well. Got to the garage and absolutely nowhere at all to park. You have to drive right past all the brand new cars for sale to get to the customer parking and there is never any. Someone parked in the MOT spot. Had to reverse right past all the brand new cars, then someone come up behind me. Then hey beeped at me because I was going to move into a space just vacated but maybe he worked there...I dunno. So I ended up reversing into a sign which was so low down I couldn't see it in mirrors. I ended up just switching the engine off and going to book it in.

Had five mins until the test time. Then there was a queue. I burst into tears and feel a right twat.

They weren't even nice about it.

Sat here waiting now trying to calm down and I could happily have a great big sob. Trying to compose myself. So embarrassing.

OP posts:
TeaAndStrumpets · 12/03/2026 11:34

Oh no these things seem to happen when your brain is under load. Silly sign I bet it's had a load of previous encounters if it's low down. On the bright side hopefully you can stop worrying about the MOT for a year, and also next time you can choose a better test station where they're a bit more customer friendly.

I once demolished a brick barbecue by parking in front of it and kindly adjusting the seat for DH who's 6 inches taller than me. Unfortunately i hadn't switched off the engine or put it in park so when the car crept gently forward (automatic) my little legs couldn't reach the brake pedal. There was a 'handbrake' but it was a foot operated one. It was not so much a crash, more of a slow pushing over of some bricks! It barely dirtied the front bumper. Never lived that one down.

MewithME · 12/03/2026 11:50

Thanks @TeaAndStrumpets

The woman was nice in the end but then that made me cry again. God. The embarrassment 🙈

I'm still waiting. Hoping it's all ok and I can get out of here soon. I'm so exhausted. I'm going to go to bed and sack work off today. I've done emails while waiting so nothing totally urgent.

Thanks for making me smile at your little legs and brick wall nightmare!

I know I'm a bit wobbly in general. Yesterday, someone approved my annual leave request and I burst into tears with relief but at least I was at home!

Maybe I need a good cry this weekend while DS is with his father. Exh has been causing stress too of late. It's all too much.
