@FurForksSake he shouldn't have done that. Maybe in his man brain, he was trying to help but that’s not what you need

If he thinks the house is a tip, he can pay for a cleaner if finances allow, he can meal plan and cook. Depending on the age of the kids, could they get themselves up and do easy stuff like cereal until you get up and take them to school?

FurForksSake · 04/03/2026 19:14

@JewelleryCat we do have a cleaner, it’s just a bit untidy in places. And the kids are ok once I’ve got them up, it’s physically getting them up and chivvying them that needs doing. It’s all just tiring.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 04/03/2026 19:19

@VikingNorthUtsire Glad the conference went well.

@FurForksSake Sorry your husband is being an arse.

I’m sure every house is untidy in places, mine certainly is more than most houses. He can always do the cleaning in those untidy places and I know you said above his alarm is set for 5.30am but couldn’t he do the kids lunches or get their uniform ready before he goes or he could do it the night before for you

FurForksSake · 04/03/2026 20:53

He had to sew uniform badges on, that, was a great big punishment. He will deal with kids in the morning for the next two days, I’ll opt out.

I’ve just had my mental health session, we’ve determined I have a massive issue with dealing with uncertainly and my whole life is about trying to avoid it. So I check and plan and check and plan and arrive early and panic if things change. I always sit in the same seat, eat the same things and drink the same things. I’m sure that’s probably pretty deep seated.

I get it. I think living with illness and uncertainty is difficult and it's reassuring to control what we can.

I've got a bit like this too. Do you struggle with anxiety? I find fluoxetine helps a bit with that.

Oioiqueen · 04/03/2026 21:52

@Orangesandlemons77 could you have any issues with your thyroid? I was getting palpitations, turns out my thyroid is buggered. Since I've started taking thyroid meds I haven't had one.

@FurForksSake I let rip at my husband yesterday for similar. Must be something in the air with men at the moment!

Realisation14 · 05/03/2026 06:57

Sorry I've dropped off the face of the earth. Just having such a rough time of it at the moment and finding it hard to keep up. Love to you all xo

VikingNorthUtsire · 05/03/2026 07:27

I'm sorry @Realisation14 . Hope things are better for you soon.

martha79 · 05/03/2026 07:51

@FurForksSake I get the uncertainty thing - I'm like that anyway, feel better if I've planned in great detail way ahead (this is maybe why I do event management as a job) and the illness really gets in the way of that.

Sending you hugs @Realisation14

I really want to stay in bed today, but have a day of meetings. Did have a massage booked for tomorrow but I've postponed it a week as I think I need a day of nothing - as lovely as the massage is (and my achy joints could do with it), I still need to walk there and back, and I always feel a bit worse before I feel better afterwards.

Morning all!

I slept well again but woke up abruptly when I bit my cheek! I do have tense jaw muscles so obviously I'm not as relaxed as I think I am!

This is such an exciting week. Not only have I received my new ladle but our food waste bin has been delivered! DH came in grumbling that someone had dumped a box at the end of our drive, so I had to explain it wasn't fly tipping. Anyway we haven't had a start date from the council yet, but I've ordered some sticky numbers for it. Although who'd nick a food waste bin.

I am certainly living my best life, I should get some Live Laugh Love art for my walls.

TeaAndStrumpets · 05/03/2026 09:16

@Swanhilde HAVE YOU HAD YOUR EARS DONE YET?

FurForksSake · 05/03/2026 09:33

@TeaAndStrumpets 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Realisation14 sending you lots of love.

Thanks for all your support. I left dh to manage the children. Ha. He was fine. Everyone was fine.

I had a shower and then got a bit breathless and palpitations so now on the sofa with my heat pad and relaxing. I was going to try and do a little gardening but need to rest my shoulder for driving and hydro. I’ve been covering it in motusol and that has helped a bit.

Orangesandlemons77 · 05/03/2026 09:57

Have just woken up, had a bit of a fitful night. I think they checked my thyroid when referring for the ME / CFS and they were ok. But is there something about those tests being a bit off? Not sure.

DH is home and has the radio on a bit loud which is a bit annoying. About the war etc. Maybe something better will come on in a minute.

It sounds as if you were really pushing things, now getting a reaction.

Glad your DH is being good! Men can be so oblivious sometimes. DD1 is getting over pneumonia and unable to do two of her part time jobs, so her DH wondered if she'd like to do some decorating while she was stuck at home.....she soon put him right. Showed him her oxygen reading! He is now being very helpful.

TeaAndStrumpets · 05/03/2026 10:12

@Orangesandlemons77 I hate too much noise when I'm trying to rest!

FurForksSake · 05/03/2026 10:13

@TeaAndStrumpets omg. Dh is a bit like that. He obviously wanted me to sew badges on for one of the kids but I completely opted out. His mum usually does them but has decided she is no longer doing anything for anyone as she is ill. I pointed out it might be a nice slow distraction while she’s in hospital with absolutely nothing to do.. like he points out to others. But no, she is too weak. Point made, I think.

@Orangesandlemons77 put the numbers into ChatGPT and ask for optimal values etc. it’s very helpful.

Oh good grief!

Morning all.

TeaAndStrumpets · 05/03/2026 10:23

@FurForksSake in a weird way I think it's trying to be efficient. In DD's case she helped rebuild their derelict house so she's been up scaffolding, pointing bricks, barrowing rubble etc for the last few years so he must assume she's invincible!

TeaAndStrumpets · 05/03/2026 10:25

My DH only realised how bad my ME was when I ended up in hospital in a state of collapse.

TeaAndStrumpets · 05/03/2026 10:28

I'm now getting adverts for Durex Intense condoms AND Nytol. Hmmmmm.

NOT YET, APPOINTMENT AT 11 🤣

I am slightly nervous of the effect as, like many of us, I find noise tiring ... 🤞

FurForksSake · 05/03/2026 10:34

Get them sucked out and then buy some loops. 🤣
