How many pregnancy tests have you taken in your life?

I've taken 4. 3 were positive and the 4th was thankfully negative after a late period and feeling like I had symptoms.

I'm mid 40s and periods are all over the place but I was reflecting earlier how, now that dh has had the snip, I don't need to keep track of when I'm due on. It feels like a relief!

I'm having to do some maths here. But I think in excess of 100.

Had a few spookings in my youth.

I did 1-3 tests every month we were TTC DC1 (which took 3 years, 10 months) and then when I was finally pregnant I tested almost every day for 3 months just to make sure I was still pregnant.

With my second pregnancy I tested twice but honestly could have done without as the nausea was definitive.

Since then I've tested 3 more times as a routine because I wasn't getting my period due to breastfeeding my baby.

17 , never had a negative one.

I took over 50 with my last pregnancy.... and done 7 IVF cycles before that with two miscarriages and a pregnancy. Quite literally could be hundreds. All FRERs.... and I wonder why I'm skint....

And then when you add ovulation sticks and trackers and body worn devices and........

TheChosenTwo · 05/02/2026 21:42

Probably around 15? Mostly panicked ones 😫🫣

EveryKneeShallBow · 05/02/2026 21:44

Never took one. All three I knew I was pregnant, made an appointment with the gp, referred to the midwife, had a scan at 6-8 weeks. They took your word for it in those days 😆

Fridaysgirl17 · 05/02/2026 21:45

4 in total 2 positive & 2 negative

StrawberryJamAndRaspberryPie · 05/02/2026 21:45

Maybe 5. I was a paranoid teen. Haven’t taken any since age 22.

CointreauVersial · 05/02/2026 21:46

Three tests.

All positive, three DCs.

TroysMammy · 05/02/2026 21:46

None. Never needed to.

Riverflow6 · 05/02/2026 21:47

Probably about 25

2-3 - postive and termination

3-4 DC1

15 for TTC DC2

2 DC3

Just the one, 38 years ago.

TallShip · 05/02/2026 21:48

1! Because in my day you had to take a urine sample into the pharmacist and it was easier to wait and see! 😂

BurningOutt · 05/02/2026 21:48

Way too many…I’ve been pregnant 9 times (2 kids, 7 miscarriages) and I tested loads with each pregnancy.

space99 · 05/02/2026 21:49

Just the one

ReignOfError · 05/02/2026 21:49

None myself. When I was child-bearing age, you waited until you’d skipped two periods, then went to the GP. S/he did a test, and if it was positive referred you to their midwifery team and antenatal classes.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 05/02/2026 21:49

3/4 two were positive.

Wonderknicks · 05/02/2026 21:49

Maybe 7? A couple of panics & 5 pregnancies.

IDontHateRainbows · 05/02/2026 21:50

Maybe 10?

Half where I was praying for no
Half where I was praying for yes

Me too!

Teenagerantruns · 05/02/2026 21:51

I think about 10 maybe? 3 postive, other's were panicking ones.

NoYourNameChanged · 05/02/2026 21:52

Oooh, lots. One when I was 15, what a scare that was, negative, thankfully. A couple when I was about 19/20, it was a false alarm, again, thankfully given how abusive my ex was. Then… ah, so many. A quick few sums make me think it was probably easily in excess of 100. 1.5 years ttc dc1 and 2.5 years ttc dc2, so 48 months total, probably 2 tests a month, being conservative, then several after my positives just to reassure myself. I’ve PCOS so unpredictable! The feeling when I finally got my positives though 💗

WelcometomyUnderworld · 05/02/2026 21:52

2 when I was actually pregnant, once for a missed period but not pregnant, and probably about ten after my miscarriage waiting for the negative test.

Lourdes12 · 05/02/2026 21:54

2 both positive

DramaAlpaca · 05/02/2026 21:55

Three, one for each child. I waited until I was a week late before testing. Pregnancy tests were expensive and not as accurate in the 90s so I wanted to be pretty sure before I tested.
