Has anyone seen his recent statement on Instagram? I actually feel very sorry for him.

Why is this weird? The father daughter dance is normal so why not a mother son one? Obviously not dancing inappropriately but I don’t see anything wrong with the concept of it.

Yes it is normal but apparently VB took the first dance without pre arranging and also embarrassed him. I was at a wedding ten years ago where a MIL in an inappropriate dress grabbed her son away from his bride and did the first dance draped over him. It was a horrid vibe. My friend the bride is no contact with her now, for many reasons.

@Sometimessometimesnot thank-you. Yes I suppose I am reading this thread and witnessing the glee from some here (I understand I really do but it concerns me) and these comments far outweigh any regard or concern for the fact that somewhere in the world these parents are watching all they worked for far apart with one instagram post, questioning every shred of their life and family.
I am not saying they were/are perfect parents, I don't know them, but then again nobody here does either.... some very real damage has been done to both families, neither come out well, but who here would have navigated the media, the brand, finances, marriage and children better or differently? Even if bad decisions were made, poor advice followed, it's their business, not an evening of entertainment for what it seems to be the entire globe. This could seriously culminate into something far more serious than what is essentially a private family matter that I am sure could, with the resources available to all have been resolved privately . It's so sad to read.....

This attitude seems so manipulative. Oh no, VB might harm herself so Brooklyn shouldn’t have done this. Did they think of Brooklyns mental health over the last 20 odd years?

It reminds me of my MIL…..she got ‘ill’ when my partner spoke up. 🤔 It’s abusive behaviour.

Don’t the leaked NP wedding texts put a different slant on things?

Whilst I think the Beckham kids have had a very privileged upbringing and in that respect I don't feel sorry for them, I do think that D&V have exploited them for their brand. They really should have protected them and kept them out of the limelight. I've seen poor Harper in front of the cameras, and she looks terrified and very awkward.

I’ll never forget they went to the cinema with all 4 kids. They’d obviously called the press because there were a lot there. Harper was a toddler and she looked absolutely petrified. Any normal parent wouldn’t have got out the car when they’d seen all those men with cameras. They didn’t give a shit!

Why does DB get a hall pass on any complicity from BB?

having read the House of Beckham book I totally believe this.

All they worked for? They have always had many employees whose jobs were and are to serve VB’s and DB’s best interests. They didn’t become successful with no help from others. Good job really, because they were never exactly overflowing with any talent.

atamlin · 19/01/2026 22:53

I feel really sad for him. The PR machine is already at work and has been for weeks saying horrible things about his wife.

There is no point 'trying to see things from all perspectives'. A friend to all is a friend to none. I have cut off people without a backward glance and am all the better for it. Life's too short for nonsense.

Of course & in certain circumstances that is appropriate. We are talking about immediate family. When the bond is broken between a few it affects everyone, including the innocent members who are left carrying the burdon of conflict forever unless it's resolved.

He has had his whole life in the public eye and been fairly publicly mocked for his endeavours to find a career.

I think the problem is that his endeavours to find a career all hinged off his parents fame. If he endeavoured to be an accountant or an estate agent people would say fair fucks to him, how refreshing. Instead he endeavoured to be anything that would make him famous. He doesn't want to be a chef in a restaurant he wants to be a 'celebrity chef' for instance. I can guarantee if he was working hard to be a chef in a restaurant there would be respect not mocking but he has just wanted to skip all of the hard work and jump straight to 'famous chef' That is why he was mocked. You can't blame his parents for that. He is an adult who wants money and attention with none of the work and funnily enough people don't respect that.

It is interesting because neither of his parents were born into money. They both worked very hard for their success. No matter how naturally talented, you don't get to be a star player for Manchester United or Real Madrid without hard slog. And Victoria was one of many young girls desperate to be famous back in the day. She obviously worked hard to be a part of the Spice Girls and later to set up her fashion line, even if we all know she's no 'designer'. Even now, they could be spending their days on the beach in the Bahamas but are still doing what passes for 'work' in their world.

However it seems they haven't chosen to pass on that work ethic to their children. None of them has any real career or education. I suspect Harper will be inducted into Victoria's business soon enough. Brooklyn will need his marriage to go the distance because without his wife's money he doesn't have a whole lot to fall back on now.

WimbyAce · 19/01/2026 22:54

Good for him for speaking out, there has been so much aimed at him as if he is to blame. Remember they are good friends with the Ramsays who have also just had a dubious wedding with much controversy!

Doomscrollingforever · 19/01/2026 22:54

I know plenty of friends who posted huge amounts of their children’s lives on social media/facebook etc often with public settings fifteen years ago. A few I muted because their children’s photos would fill my feed. The Beckhams didn’t really do anything different to a lot of people - they just have a much larger following they could monetise. We have become hugely more aware of privacy, especially children’s privacy, and the internet over the last ten years.

PinkPanther57 · 19/01/2026 22:49

Don’t the leaked NP wedding texts put a different slant on things?

‘Her father, Nelson Peltz, sued the planners for refusing to return a $159,000 deposit, claiming they failed to deliver services of value. The planners, in turn, filed a counterclaim, accusing the Peltz family of being “bully billionaires” and citing the high-pressure environment. ‘

lovely

LBFseBrom · 19/01/2026 22:57

I heard it on the news and thought it was appalling to go so public with such a personal issue.

Nothing is ever black and white, no parents, or children, are perfect. Undoubtedly Victoria and David would tell another tale. As has been said in other situations, 'recollections vary'. I hope V & D don't retaliate but it is natural to want to speak out when you have been publcly degraded by your own son, your child whom you loved so much and he definitely was loved.

It's very sad.

I wonder who Brooklyn will turn to when his marriage goes on the rocks.

I hate the media for relishing this sort of thing. They won't let it alone now.

Charlize43 · 19/01/2026 22:57

Fizbosshoes · 19/01/2026 22:34

I felt sorry for Brooklyn well before any of this came out. He has had his whole life in the public eye and been fairly publicly mocked for his endeavours to find a career. Either the Beckhams, or the media (or both) have bigged up their kids to be the next big thing when they might just be ...average....normal. VB is not massively talented but found fame because she was incredibly ambitious and hard working (and to a degree - had the right look)
I concede at the height of spice girls fame and he was playing for Man Utd they probably were harassed by the press and media. But for the last eg 15 years thry probably could have lived a quieter , more private life, away from the public eye, if they really wanted to.

But I do feel sad for all of them as its a pretty public humiliation to have it all out there.

They deserve it for what they've done to their kids, who have never consented, nor probably even been asked if they wanted to be paraded like show ponies for the media.

Children of narcissistic parents grew up with terrible abuse. Read Mommie Dearest or Marlene Dietrich's daughter's book.

I can’t see it! I’ve read the screenshots but nothing shows up on his insta page.

What am I doing wrong or has he taken it down already?!

PinkPanther57 · 19/01/2026 22:59

This puts a different slant on this spat IMO. The leaked texts from NP too were very anti VB.

mumstheword1x · 19/01/2026 19:58

Brand Beckham may be fake, but Brooklyn Beckham still cashed in on it. If he genuinely wanted authenticity he could have walked away at any point in adulthood and earned his own money and reject financial help from the ‘Beckham Brand’; instead he waited until he secured someone else to bankroll his lifestyle to yap about independence and turn on his family.

frankly, there’s children dying in war stricken countries and we’ve got a baby millionaire crying because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Winds me up.

He, Brooklyn definitely-not-a-Beckham and Harry the-definitely-not-royal-Duke could start a support group?

Wonder how many more people will do this when they become adults after being part of a brand during their childhood. All these influencer family types parading their kids about as an accessory when the kid can’t give informed consent.
Good luck to him I say. The stuff about his wedding alone is enough to go NC.

There’s already studied coming out about Joe the damage ti kids who’ve grown up either on social media or famous.

youre going to see a huge chunk of kids who had their every move filmed or first periods filmed. Look at ruby Franke for example.

theres going to be massive massive problems.
