Has anyone just got the met office app updated?

Yes me too! It's awful. And my home screen widget is broken so I now have an empty space until they fix it or I give up and pick a different weather app!

I don't like it either but I did get the option on the desktop version to put it back, which I promptly did. Still grumbling about the app, though.

It's awful now, I did wonder if it was a precursor to bringing out a paid for superior version, but I xould just be being cynical!

Complained on the feedback option, it’s dire.

Yes think the old one worked absolutely fine!

I think this one is the opposite of user friendly

The thing I probably look for most was right there in front of my eyes before. Result accessible straightaway. Now I have to scroll down to find it then click on another button and it brings to another page to look at it! Even then you have to scroll across to see the whole day as well

Agree it's awful, widget has the smallest symbols on it, basically a black rectangle! Lots of extra visual busyness in the app itself which is horrid and also lost lots of functionality. I've not succeeded to give feedback yet, error message both times (maybe I wrote too much haha!)

I tried to give feedback on my daughter's phone too but it wouldn't let me. I guess cos I've blocked internet access on hers.

Oh, I think it's an improvement, much clearer and everything I generally need on the homepage.

I have an Android phone and the new app is so much better! No idea about widgets but the main page on the app is souch easier to scan and read.

Noticed it had been updated this morning. I am getting used to it. I can't see that it doesn't have anything it used to?
Not as bad as the one for the Australian site, which was dangerously bad.

Why do they do this, do they not test things that they've 'improved' and have they never heard of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'?.

The BBC weather app went crap recently too. You can't see the hour by hour weather and the location at the same time and it's too easy to accidentally scroll onto another location, leaving you with a completely wrong picture of the weather (I keep an eye on the weather for places I'm travelling to so I could have Leeds, Malaga and Aberdeen saved, which usually have very different weather).

Hate it too! Almost unusable. And where's the long term forecast?
