miss you need to come teach me how to sort the toilet seat, ours doesn’t so much as move slightly as relocate itself entirely 😆*
@EllaDisenchanted, if your toilet seat is moving that much, it might be better to just replace it. They are not very expensive and will come with the parts to attach them to the toilet. Here are some instructions. It's a 5-10 minute job.
I don't know about where you are, but here toilets come in two shapes, one with a round bowl and the other with an elongated bowl. That video shows a bloke replacing the seat meant for an elongated bowl.
@DandyDandylion , we used to make s'mores all the time for the kids. We have a charcoal grill on the deck we use almost every week when the weather is okay, and it was easy to make them over that after dinner was done.
My insomnia seems to be getting worse. I have an appointment with a sleep medicine specialist next week.
DH and I have two retirement-related bureaucratic snafus to clear up. One concerns our Medicare (government health insurance for people over 65) coverage. It's complicated because I also have medical cover from my old employer, and the two of them have to agree who pays first and who pays whatever costs are left. The second concerns an additional tax being imposed on our Social Security (government pension) payments due to our 2024 income. We have to send them documentation showing that our income is lower now that we have stopped working. For example, I have to get a letter from my former employer stating that I am in fact retired and giving the date of my retirement.
It's a lot of admin at the moment, but once it's done, it should be smooth sailing going forward.
It's not a great picture because of the trees, but I took this shot of the Hudson while DH was driving me to church on Sunday.
And speaking of driving, it's not six weeks since the surgery, so I'm allowed to drive again! I went to the pharmacy, picked up a prescription, and got my COVID and pneumonia jabs.
