What’s your go-to meal deal selection?

For me, I LOVE the chicken club sandwich from Tesco, I usually try and pair it with a fruit pot (either Pink Lady apple slices, or pineapple chunks) and an apple juice if they have it, or Pepsi Max Cherry, or Dr Pepper.

I don’t get them often, I last had one a couple of weeks ago and before that, it was months ago! Although in the summer of 2024 I got a bit addicted to the chicken club and had 2-3 meal deals a week for about 2 months until one day I couldn’t stomach even the thought of it! But I like them again now, although not like the other year.

Cheese and onion sarnie, ready salted crisps and one of those trip drinks. Only get one very rarely on special occasions though

MrsWalker2025 · 14/01/2026 18:18

Prawn mayo sandwich, fruit pot and a coke

k2showerscene · 14/01/2026 18:21

Sushi, sushi snack or pomegranate and a Tropicana orange juice. Last time I had a sandwich it was years ago and I think it was a chicken and stuffing or chicken and bacon? A packet of salt and vinegar McCoys and a Diet Coke.

PhantomAfternoonTea · 14/01/2026 18:29

Chicken and bacon caesar wrap, apple juice and salt and vinegar crisps.

TigerRag · 14/01/2026 18:31

Hoisin duck wrap. I may have 2 mini cheese and red onion chutney rolls or pineapple and cheese chunks and a coke zero

Teenagerantruns · 14/01/2026 18:34

The most expensive sandwich l can find😂.
Ready sales crisps and diet coke or iced coffee.

BarbaraKirksKaftan · 14/01/2026 19:57

Fluffinghell75 · 14/01/2026 20:06

CoffeePleaseBlack · 14/01/2026 20:06

I love a chicken salad

Nincompoo · 14/01/2026 20:07

Duck and hoisin wrap, plain hula hoops and coconut water

JustAboutMuddlingThrough · 14/01/2026 20:13

Spicy prawn rolls, chicken satay things, pay extra for those but it still brings it under a fiver. Then hoola hoops or prawn cocktail crisps and a monster energy drink.

HoseGoblin · 14/01/2026 20:20

Southern fried chicken wrap, star bar or Doritos depending on whether I'm feeling sweet or savoury, apple juice or iced coffee depending on whether I'm in a good mood or tired and raging.

Lightuptheroom · 14/01/2026 20:21

Chicken and bacon sandwich or ham and tomato roll, quavers or wotsits, pepsi Max (Morrisons meal deal )
Meatball marinara, lindt chocolate, pepsi max (Tesco) will also use the salad bar in Morrisons. Used to do it a lot as office had no canteen but now WFH 5 days a week most weeks

hahagogomomo · 14/01/2026 20:25

The duck poke bowl from Waitrose with fruit or veggie sushi depending on how hungry I am and a smoothie

Moonflower12 · 14/01/2026 21:01

Deli meat roll, 2 boiled eggs and a Diet Coke.

Mokel · 14/01/2026 22:00

It depends on how hungry I am, time of year etc. I usually go for some different veggie sandwich/wrap. If not chicken. Then some supermarkets have Danish pastry/croissant as a side and a smoothie.

There is one shop (One Stop?) that sells long chicken kebabs as their side. Very spicy and delicious

notthedressiwanted · 14/01/2026 22:03

Cheese &onion sandwich, beef hula hoops and a diet coke mmmmm

Mokel · 14/01/2026 22:07

I remember about 20 years ago when I worked in a call centre on a weekend- canteen was closed but there was a Boots in the shopping centre next door. My colleagues and I used to compete who had saved the most from their meal deal.

I usually won it. As Boots used to do jacket potatoes with cheesy beans, veggie chilli, beef chilli and something with bacon. Had a microwave to use. Plus those days Boots sold 1 litre bottles of orange and apple juice. Plus some of the sides were those Trek or similar flapjack bars.

Needmorelego · 14/01/2026 22:09

Tesco - the bacon sandwich.
Sainsbury's - the mozzarella and pesto (?) wrap - which many branches never have 🙁
M+S/Boots - Ploughman's Sandwich.
With Pepsi Max or Coke Zero and until recently cheese and onion crisps but am trying to cut down on crisps so getting the yoghurt pouch instead.

TroysMammy · 14/01/2026 22:10

The most expensive sandwich. The most expensive snack. The most expensive drink. I like to get my monies worth.

ladygindiva · 14/01/2026 22:15

Coop salmon poke bowl and a millionaire slice and a innocent mango smoothie

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 14/01/2026 22:34

Ham and cheese sub, or a chicken and bacon club, or a sausage bacon and egg triple.

Salt and Vinegar Discos grab bag

Mars Duo

Full fat coke.

Diabetic me misses the Tesco meal deal so much

BillieWiper · 14/01/2026 23:15

Like the egg and bacon sandwich. Then a smoothie for maximum money saving. Innocent etc rather than the concentrate ones.
The snack I'm not that bothered with but found they do a mini chicken tikka or spicy bean ginsters as a snack.

The worst would be a cheese and ham sandwich, a diet coke and boiled eggs! So I like egg in a sandwich but not just naked on their own?!

Kibble19 · 14/01/2026 23:22

Surprised nobody’s commented that they never eat meal deals because of the appalling salt and fat content.

Anyway, it’s the southern fried chicken wrap or sushi, McCoys salt & vinegar and a Diet Irn Bru for me.

I always see those lonely looking boiled eggs in the Tesco fridge and wonder what heathen is choosing those.
