Best heated throw?

I have started working from home and I’m a proper coldy living in a cold part of the UK. I’m also strapped for cash so don’t want to waste any money on a rubbish product or on heating!
can anyone recommend heated throw? The reviews are all a mixed bag. Thanks!

Dreamland! I live under them.

Dreamland - by far the simplest controls I have used, and the sherpa one we have is amazing. Everybody fights over it in our house.

I inherited a Bedsure fleecy one from my DM and it’s brilliant.

I had a Dreamland one and it blew up!

Well, it wasn’t that dramatic but there was a burning smell and it shorted.

I’ve got a dreamland and I love it but my daughter got a cheaper one from Argos (home brand) and she’s v pleased with it.

Makingpeace · 09/01/2026 20:41

Another vote for Dreamland!

I love the fluffy ones but we have a bunch of others that aren’t fluffy. Everyone who lives here has an throw and there’s a couple for the sofa and for guests. They have also made great presents for niblings and for other family. We’ve tried a range and all are great. Our house is always freezing so when they go on sale they are hard to resist. And I have a son at uni in Scotland in a wee flat with virtually no heating. He now has three!

I have a Berkshire Life heated throw. Velvety soft & drapes over my knees lovely. 4 heat settings & switches off after 4 hrs. Got it from Costco, approx £32.

I have a dreamland one on the bed. 6 heat settings & 1, 3 & 6 hr timer. It's a faux fur on one side & velvet on the other. I think it was approx £90.

Lakeland - wouldn’t trust anything else.

My first heated throw came from Amazon a few years ago, can’t remember what it was called. It was great to start off with but would get really, really hot. It started to look a bit singed so I got scared and binned it. I’m sticking with Dreamland now. Been tempted by the Lakeland ones but not tried them so far. I really like the controls on the Dreamland ones and I have enough so there’s not much point.

Arran2024 · 09/01/2026 21:09

I have a lakeland one but what's even better is the heated boot - they were both my dad's and I have inherited them!

Acropolis49 · 09/01/2026 21:16

Lakeland used to sell Dreamland ones, but they dont seem to anymore, which is a shame because the Lakeland 3 year warranty on electricals is unbeatable. I have one of the Lakeland brand ones, but the controls are a pain. 12 clicks to turn up to highest heat for 1 hour. The dreamland one is 1 click.

We have the Costco one too. Best one we've had by far. Going to get a couple more.

I bought a Dreamland one in October after my VonHaus one packed up (lasted about 3 years). The Dreamland one died in December! Luckily I bought it in John Lewis and was still eligible for a refund, I was really disappointed. VonHaus definitely last better although we've found that washing them (followed instructions on the label) does shorten their life.

MouldyCandy · 09/01/2026 21:45

Dreamland - but buy direct as they have a minimum 2 year guarantee. My first one developed a fault and, after contacting them, they sent out a brand new one that week.

ThePoshUns · 09/01/2026 21:49

I’ve got this one from Argos, it’s £50 now but I swear it was only £35 when I bought mine last year. I love it.

I am on my second lakeside gwared poncho. I prefer it to a blanket as j can move around better. Discontinued but got from the ebay store. About £90 i think
