Best heated throw?

EscapedTurkey · 09/01/2026 20:13

I have started working from home and I’m a proper coldy living in a cold part of the UK. I’m also strapped for cash so don’t want to waste any money on a rubbish product or on heating!
can anyone recommend heated throw? The reviews are all a mixed bag. Thanks!

We have the Dreamland heated fur one, I always say it’s one of our best purchases ever.

hickoy · 09/01/2026 22:52

FYI - very has 15% off the dreamland and silent night ones at the mo.!

Lakeland - wouldn’t trust anything else.

I’ve had mine a year and it’s stopped working on the lower settings annoyingly!

Ohpleeeease · 09/01/2026 23:04

Mine’s an Emperial heated throw from EBay, very soft and plush, currently £34.99.

It’s in regular use, so much so I had to replace the control but that was easily ordered from Amazon. I have a cheaper one from Lidl which works fine but this one is much softer.

Dunelm teddy electric throw. We've had two for over two years now and they're so popular in our family that we bought 11 for kids, partners and grandchildren for christmas (we asked if they wanted them first!). They're also a bargain at £40 compared to the rest. When I bought them I thought the single size would be too small but it's perfect for one. Lovely reviews for them too. They're available in four colours so loads of choice there.

I bought the Dreamland Hygge Days Luxury Faux Fur Warming Throw - Zebra Print in December. I absolutely Love it, and can't imagine being without it now. Best money I've ever spent.

Fernsrus · 10/01/2026 06:19

I have the Dreamland one. It’s very good. I always turn it off after 5 minutes because it is so warm. It’s a couple of years old now.

@fodomoo that’s so funny , my Jack Russell goes mad for my heated throw too 😂

Barney16 · 10/01/2026 07:32

Dreamland, the Alaskan Husky one, it's amazing.

Can you feel the wires through this one?

I like that it looks very soft, lightweight and not stiff like some others I have tried and comes in a larger two person size

BCBird · 10/01/2026 08:54

I have one from Lakeland. Had it for 4 years. There were cheaper ones available but I chose this one. Love it. A piece of advice my friend gave me makes sense:buy the biggest one u can afford. No point buying a single one. U need to.remember there is a section around the perimeter that is not heated

LeftoversAgain · 10/01/2026 09:11

Dreamland though ours broke after just under 2 years but thankfully there is a 2 year warranty.

DreamOfTheRarebitFiend · 10/01/2026 10:15

It depends how you want to use it. They're probably great for the sofa or bed. I wanted one to drape over my lap and legs while I work from home, but they're actually kind of delicate. If your chair catches on them, the little wires inside can bend. Then the whole thing dies. I went through 3 or 4 before I had to give up.

BorgQueen · 10/01/2026 10:38

I bought DH one for Xmas from Lakeland but I don’t particularly rate it. I don’t like feeling the wires and it looks untidy when over the back of his sofa
I much prefer my large heat pad, I sit on it and have it up behind my back on the sofa, I find if my back and neck are warm, it’s enough.
I have a very thick fluffy teddy fleece poncho ( not heated) from Qvc a few years ago and it’s brilliant, I use it more as a shawl rather than wearing it.

NancyBellaDonna · 10/01/2026 10:41

I bought mine from Lakeland - their own brand fleece heated throw. It's brilliant. Why didn't I get one before?

Sillyme1 · 10/01/2026 13:09

I got the fluffy fake animal pelt one from Argos and I love, love it. Not the cheapest, but it saves putting on the heating. I live under it.

Unpaidviewer · 10/01/2026 13:14

We have a dreamland faux fur one. Its so warm that i rarely plug it in. We've had it for over 5 years, it gets washed about once a month and still works well.

stealthsquirrelnutkin · 10/01/2026 13:31

I invested in a faux fallow deer fur one from Dreamland when fuel prices went through the roof.

It turned out to be so warm that I often forgot to switch it on.

Arran2024 · 10/01/2026 14:10

TK Max had heated throws before Christmas at a pretty decent price. I'm not sure what brand but we got one for my daughter and she loves it.

SnippySnappy · 10/01/2026 18:32

For your throw - definitely Dreamland as everyone else has said (I'm currently sat under mine right now!)

However for really cold days I would also look into this:

HEATED HOODIE

which I found in Lidl for £19.99 recently.

It's heated across the shoulders, lower back, and belly (the picture makes it look like just one area, but it's three areas). It uses a USB power bank which you slip into the front pocket. It means you can get up and move around and still be heated and toasty, whereas when you emerge from the lovely Dreamland blanket you're cold fairly quickly!

On very cold days WFH I double up with these.

HopeSpringsEternally · 10/01/2026 23:05

I bought a grey fluffy electric blanket from OHS last summer in the sale and it works a treat.

Acropolis49 · 09/01/2026 20:21

Dreamland - by far the simplest controls I have used, and the sherpa one we have is amazing. Everybody fights over it in our house.

I’ve had this one for many years now and it has been frequently used and washed highly recommended also bought them as gifts for friends and family all extremely happy with them.

DoubleBoubles · 10/01/2026 23:14

I got a dreamland zebra print one for Christmas and it is amazing
It’s 60% off at the moment too
