The Christmas tree

A huge tin of chocolates, the cat and a Baobab candle. Priorities!

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 01/01/2026 13:55

A Christmas tree and a large box of chocolates.

That'll do me. 😂😂

Clefable · 01/01/2026 13:55

Why do you start with the word “respectfully” like it negates you from being closed minded or something? Some things are triggering, the title is not something I can avoid really!

Probably best stay off the internet, if that’s the case.

Quite bizarrely… an overnight bag! Currently suffering from gallstones and have been very poorly with them, so prepared a bag just in case I need to go to hospital in a hurry. So I’d be fine - there’s a change of undies, slippers, night clothes, a hairbrush, deodorant, phone charger, toothbrush/toothpaste and a bit of cash.

Also to my left is a lovely crochet blanket, my laptop and a couple of books.

Not wanting to piss on your parade here as it’s a funny little game to play in a sense. But as someone who has once been evacuated from their home…I find this triggering is all. Just wanting you to keep that in mind.

Sorry Betty. The thing is... most threads are going to be found triggering by someone. People talking about spending a holiday with their annoying family will cause distress to someone recently bereaved, for instance. Those posting pictures of their dogs will upset someone who once got badly bitten. People asking about investing a large windfall will be triggering to those who haven't even got enough money to pay their electric bill.

There is only one thing to do here, and that is to avoid topics which could potentially be distressing for you. Flowers

Lots of things are triggering.
Somebody in the post is sat next to their mum .. I lost mine I felt a bit sad but that poster has probably got plenty of trauma themselves
I do add respectfully as I meant it kindly.
But come on this is a Mumsnet just ignore a post if you don't like it.
