What are you by going to watch at 2am and can’t sleep when Friends leaves Netflix tomorrow??

this is not a thread if you don’t like friends or not! 😂
Friends has always been a go to of mine when I wake up in the night and can’t sleep. I pop it on and it blocks out any “chatter” in my head and I can normally go back to sleep again. Or if I wake in the night not feeling well with my IBS, I pop it on to focus on to remove the anxiety. What on earth am I going to listen to when it goes from Netflix tomorrow??? White noise like rain etc doesn’t work. I need something that I don’t need to focus on. Although I did look and you can buy friends on Amazon prime, so might have to resort to that!!

Gilmore Girls

I used to have all the DVDs from when they first came out, I don’t think I have them anymore as assumed I’d always be able to stream! 🙄. I’ll have to check my Dads loft 🤣. I’m feeling anxious about it which is absolutely ridiculous!!!!! But I use it all the time, so it’s going to be an adjustment. I listen to it on my phone and I put my earphones in and just close my eyes and listen. I never get to the end of 1 episode, whereas if I just lay there I could be awake for hours!

Defeats the purpose of something to switch off to. Plus it’s too high energy and choppy. I’m the same OP and tempted to go back to dvd’s 😅

I watch stuff I’ve watched before. Took me about 4 months of 2am wakings to rewatch the whole of Stranger Things. I’m normally out in 20-30mins.

I get visibly excited when series I’ve seen before come on Netflix for my early morning wakings

Thats v annoying about Friends for you! Have you tried Peep Show? That’s another good one with loads of episodes

Buy the dvds? I have the box set and have them ripped to a drive on my tv.

You could buy Friends on Prime. They are currently selling all 10 seasons for £50 and that way you can still access it.

This is me. I know it inside out. It stops the anxiety chatter in my brain. No idea what else i can watch that will have the same effect so following the thread!

I don’t have a dvd player and tv in my room i prop up my phone and put an earphone in one side. What i like about netflix is it stops playing after so long and not interacting so you don’t wake up to noise/programme/podcast still running.

I often just listen to it. I thought about big bang as love that too and then that’s going too. I need something too that’s familiar that won’t set my brain off 💕😂

Peep show is a good shout not watched it for years!

Red Dwarf has been my go to for this for years. Think I could recite the whole show from start to finish at this point.

We went out today to buy a DVD player because I am sick of paying for streaming services and not being able to watch what I want. We’re going back to physical media.

I’m not paying for yet another streaming service (looking at you Paramount).

DH is sourcing a friends box set for me because it’s my comfort food. That and Star Trek (also leaving Netflix) and Big Bang.

I’m currently halfway through Downton. I’ll go back to Schitt’s Creek until I get my box sets. Such a scam.

Friends is going because of ownership of the rights. It’s coming back when HBO Max launches in the UK though that’s another subscription

I’m going to buy the all the seasons on dvd. I too watch Friends for comfort when my anxiety is high or my IBS is giving my grief (which sadly is most days recently). Motherland and The Golden Girls are also my comfort shows but nothing beats Friends, I’m gutted it’s being removed from Netflix.

I found Fat Friends was decent for 2am, a fair run of a box set and it helped me cut out brain chatter and drift off again.

I also need a new box set after going through the pretty-dire SWAT 😳. I love a procedural drama that’s so formulaic I can just zone out!

Anything too engaging and I just wake up more to follow it.
