What’s the best ever Strictly show dance ?

Just catching up on last night and it’s make me think about show dances from the past.
I know there was a lot of dislike for Tom Chambers because he could already dance, but his show dance stands out for me because it was a little bit different.
What do you think was the best show dance from over the years?

Lewis and katya from Halloween stood out for me. He's such a lovely dancer.

That tango thing Karen did as Peaky Blinders

Never seen anything like it, like a piece of art it was

I think people are confusing normal dances with the actual “show dance”

There was a Cha Cha that Alesha & Matthew Cutler did back in the day. Loved it! He was my fave 💕

It’s interesting that the lines between couples choice and showdance seems to have been blurred. Is there even a difference these days?

Yes I think pps aren't thinking of show dances in particular - Tom Chambers is always the one I think of immediately. Just perfect (I do love a quicksteppy American Smooth!)

They were. Amber's was awful, less of a dance, more gymnastics. Then again that was my problem with Lewis.

Ellie and Vito's Paso Doble to Faithless Insomnia in 2023. Gave me goosebumps. That's one of my favourite tunes.

I don't think that was a show dance though. I can't remember!

I was hoping Amber's would be similar to her CC and be very musical theatre so I was disappointed with hers.

Agree Lewis and katya Halloween dance. Roses dance to symphony was beautiful . Helen Skeltons Mein Herr was very good.

Actual showdances - my favourites are Danny Mac or Denise Van Outen. I really enjoyed Tom Chambers too. Matt and Flavia's showdance to 'Are You Gonna Go My Way?' many years ago - loved it!

I have rewatched Louis Smith's showdance with Flavia so many times, although there's not a huge amount of dancing from him, mostly gymnastic skills but it's lovely.

Yes, she didn't really bring it. I suspect out of the musical theatre style she's quite limited.

Lewis and Katya's was not a show dance! They didnt make it to the final.
Neither was Karen and Carlos's Peaky AT a show dance. Most of the dances above are not show dances!

I agree with that completely. I’m not bothered about just seeing loads of lifts. I do think that couples choice means the show dance is less different now than all the other weeks where in the past it was less restrictive than anything till the final.

It's good to have contestants who can do a variety. I thought Amber and George were both a bit limited.
