Please can someone explain the attraction / obsession with this young man? I just don’t get it?!

I probably shouldn't, bit I do have a crush on him.
He's gorgeous 😍

Don’t know much about him other than he called Susan Boyle an absolute British legend because of her rage to riches story and how she ‘dreamed bigger than all of us’. Thought that was a really lovely - and unexpected observation from a young Hollywood star!

And the interviewer burst out laughing like a little kid !

lucya66 · 18/12/2025 21:58

If he’s in it, it’s gonna be a good film.

i adore call me by your name. And the king.

ResultsMayVary · 18/12/2025 22:08

He is completely my type - intelligent sensitive humorous - messy hair and nice eyes. I completely get it.

CookingFatCat · 18/12/2025 22:12

It strikes me that diverse looking men are embraced yet women are succumbing to the ‘same face’ standard of beauty ( whatever that is) and doing unnatural things to their faces to achieve it. 🥴

LoudSnoringDog · 18/12/2025 22:23

Amazing in The King and phenomenal in Beautiful Boy. We really rate him in our house. I’m only disappointed he’s with one of those Kardashian’s

wannanamechange · 18/12/2025 22:24

I see the appeal. He's got a very interesting face.

Whatareyoutalkingaboutnow · 18/12/2025 22:24

He was funny and intelligent on the radio this morning. Apparently took years to learn table tennis for his new film.

JumpingJiminy · 18/12/2025 22:30

I think he's a great actor. He was amazing as Dylan, really made me believe in the character. In Dune he was pretty good too.

I don't find him attractive in a sexual way, he's just very good at what he does and the parts I've seen him play, I've admired.

KilliMonjaro · 18/12/2025 23:31

Thanks to those who have answered. I think I understand. Will have to watch some of his films.

Beautiful Boy, too.

UneAnneeSansLumiere · 18/12/2025 23:40

Goodness knows..He's a weedy little dweeb and he seems very arrogant. Plus the connection with the gross Kardashians. Hard, hard pass.

Screamingabdabz · 18/12/2025 19:21

I think he has rizz in real life but he just looks like a 12 year old kid to me in films. Same as Leo DiCaprio when his star was on the rise. Boy-men do nothing for me as characters in films. They ruin it.

To be fair, Leo was a genuinely beautiful boy and has matured into a handsome man. Chalamet looks like a ferret!

MrsSkylerWhite · 18/12/2025 23:36

Beautiful Boy, too.

Oh my god, beautiful boy devastated me.

I think he’s just super versatile isn’t he- can do arthouse/ indie cinema and big budget blockbuster, and is very convincing in both. There’s not many actors who cross over so frequently, and do so seemingly without any anxiety about not being perceived as “selling out”.

He also seems to really enjoy what he does- including the press tours - which I’m sure must be tedious after a while, but he does them with good grace.

surely as an arcade fire fan, youre used to and can forgive a little arrogance in an artiste?

uhtredofbattenberg · 18/12/2025 23:52

He was great as Bob Dylan and great in Dune.
Thought him and Zendaya had great chemistry in Dune. Best cheekbones in a desert film since the English Patient.

I think it's the Kylie Jenner thing that partially puts me off. I'm sorry but she looks like a literal blow up doll. I also think that there are many equally if not more talented artists than Chalamet, I feel he is being shoved down our throats.

I'd recommend these films too! He's a great actor.

Must admit I’m biased because he’s very much like our son 😊

He was absolutey superb playing Bob Dylan, it must have taken a lot of research on his part to play someone that was basically a historical character for him, and a true music legend, big boots to fill, and I understand he learned guitar too, I think he’s lovely ❤️

Edited

I just watched that film and agree with you. He’s an amazing actor .

I think L di C matured into a grumpy potato, personally, but the kind of films he makes don’t appeal to me. Timothée Chalamet I get — he’s a good actor with a wide range and has this big-eyed, messy-curled, sensitive boy thing going on. Younger me would have had a giant crush on him, and endlessly rewatched the scene in Call Me By Your Name where he gets intimate with a peach. (Or is it an apricot?) .

PInkyStarfish · 19/12/2025 06:21

Awful actor and a weird little man who dresses badly in real
life. Weasel looking face. Looks like he would blow over in the wind.
