Middle aged spread - what to do?

Was just looking at this photo of myself and I am a bit alarmed by this tummy pooch. I'm at a fairly low weight, but I am sure my middle used to be more slender. Or are my clothes unflattering? Should I be doing more core work?

Probably not worth worrying about really. Obsessing over what you look like is such a waste of time.

skippy67 · 18/12/2025 13:54

Very alarming indeed! Delete it immediately!!

SnappyOchre · 18/12/2025 14:22

I’m more worried about how transparent your fishing for compliments is.

Bodypumpmum · 18/12/2025 14:25

oh do bore off!

canuckup · 18/12/2025 14:25

Lol

JaneJeffer · 18/12/2025 14:25

Who’s that you’re holding hands with Barry?

YYYDlilah · 18/12/2025 14:27

You are right to be worried, @radiatordrama .
You need some flattering garments. The print on pretty dress would suit you.

Screamingabdabz · 18/12/2025 14:27

The massive gap round your welly boots tells the opposite story.

MidnightColours · 18/12/2025 14:27

Is this an ad for the boots?

Chazbots · 18/12/2025 14:29

Your muscles turn to fat as you get older. Get thee to the personal trainer.

That said, my arm is larger than your leg, so I wouldn't be too worried.

ParisianLady · 18/12/2025 14:29

Gosh, you’re right, I’m surprised that you are having any photos taken at that weight, how embarrassing. Can you get them digitally altered to remove your enormous belly?

I would recommend rapid weight loss as whomever is holding your hands in that awful pic won’t hang around for long waiting for you to drop the extra few stone!

Best of luck. Thoughts and prayers…

ParisianLady · 18/12/2025 14:30

@YYYDlilah gorgeous dress but sadly the bigger sizes are sold out. Poor OP

wheredidtheteago · 18/12/2025 14:33

I won’t be as catty as the other comments but honestly, you look great. Nothing worth obsessing about, really.

Eyesopenwideawake · 18/12/2025 14:35

AI still putting mens boots on women's legs I see.

xmasstress12 · 18/12/2025 14:35

Can’t be person who took the professional shots airbrush you?

YYYDlilah · 18/12/2025 14:36

OP should be able to squeeze into a size 18, @ParisianLady .

Muscles don't turn to fat. They atrophy. Fat is fat. You can have more or less of it depending how you age, what you eat. Your muscles waste away eventually but exercise and using muscle will keep them strong or increase your muscle mass or

Twinklewonderkins · 18/12/2025 14:51

That’s a rubbish belly!
Get yourself down Greggs

PandoraSocks · 18/12/2025 14:52

There is something not right about the top of that photo, around the neck area?

Men’s? Why do you think that especially with the heel ?

YYYDlilah · 18/12/2025 14:52

I put on 3 stones overnight on the eve of my 40th birthday, so I guess you must be about 50. No woman over 35 should wear a skirt shorter than knee length.
I'd look for more age-appropriate shoes too.

Shh you’ll give them a complex

radiatordrama · 18/12/2025 15:05

Maybe this was a stupid post. Sorry. 😐

Ultimately, I think I regret my clothing choice for this photo shoot (engagement photos) because something like a dress with a defined waist may look less sausage-like.

Also, No, it's not a boot advert, but they are size 5. My calves are very thin and it is difficult to find boots that fit very well.
