Nope, Exodus 21:24 " Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot"
Mosaic law. In the context of the chapter, it's equal for equal for Israelites, but it does not apply to slaves.
Exodus 21:26 :" And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake. "
Knock an Isrealites eye out, and your eye is knocked out too. But knock a slaves eye out, and you have to set the slave free. This is a feature of Mosaic law, not all people are equal.
In Mathew 5:38-42, Jesus says ignore that, turn the other cheek etc.
However, just before he say that, he says Mat 5:18 " For assuredly I am saying to you , Until heaven and earth would pass-away, one iota or one serif should never pass-away from the law, until all things would become fulfilled."
Given that the law of the time was Mosaic lay, as laid down in the Pentateuch , we get a direct contradiction. Not an iota of the law will change, then straight afterwards he changes it.
But what we don't know is what " until all things would become fulfilled" means.
Ambiguity there, I think.
