What would your death row final meal be?

Mine would be

Drink: large new Zealand Sauvingon Blanc with ice

Starter: king prawns in garlic oil with garlic bread.

Main: fillet steak,peppercorn sauce,baked potato with butter and a side of mac n cheese.

Dessert.Cheesecake with cream.

This sounds incredible

An enormous Chateaubriand steak, medium rare with thin-cut fries, mushrooms, buttered peas and peppercorn sauce. Followed by a knickerbocker glory, then cheese and biscuits - Vignotte, Cashel Blue, Roquefort and a decent Brie. Diet Coke and a strawberry ice cream milkshake to drink. And a large amount of very high quality skunk to smoke.

I’m the same for cheese I’m literally drooling here, so I’d have the same with extra melted cheese.

I love dining out, trying new combinations and cooking, but for my last meal I would go for perfectly crispy chips with still runny fried egg, with a side of grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. Food of the gods. (Also my go to meal if dh is out in an evening.)

I hate reading about people’s final meal choices in articles about the death penalty. Food would be the last thing on my mind in that situation. I’d just want a strong drink, but I’m not sure they offer that.

To start:

A glass of fizz
A buffet of crisps and a variety of dips

Good bottle of red wine
A full Christmas dinner with all the works

Apple crumble and custard
Giant mug of Yorkshire tea

A massive cheeseboard
Spicy margarita to finish off.

When I worked in a prison library we had a book that had all the last meals of the state of Texas death row prisoners, it was kept behind the counter and not allowed out of the library as we would have never seen it again

Assuming I'm not a hysterical wreck in the corner, I'd have sliced (square/lorne) sausage, egg, fried onions, chips and beans. Childhood comfort food.

Then I'd want a massive bag of posh crisps with extra salt and an entire bar of galaxy chocolate.

Kraken spiced rum and coke to drink.

My Granny's stew and dumplings, just before I see her again!

A massive slow cooked lasagne with homemade chips, garlic bread and coleslaw. And/or a stuffed crust pizza with loads of meat and onions.
Pudding would always be warm chocolate fudge cake with cream. And a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. And a Pepsi max.

Although depending on what I'd done I might be going down below of course!

Prawn cocktail or soup.
Roast lamb, new potatoes, cauliflower cheese, runner beans.
Pavlova
Coffee

I’m assume that’s what she meant. Otherwise I could be pedantic and point out that not only are the alcohol options not allowed, but most of these menus far surpass most last meal budgets

Koka noodles,
Twirl,
6 pack of pickled onion space raiders,
can of full fat Coke,
followed by a large red wine

I think she’s means just list your favourite menu. Most of these would be screwed in Oklahoma with a $15 budget

Macaroni cheese, oozing with double cream, parmesan, mozzarella and a gutsy cheddar. Maybe with a breadcrumb and herb crust. And thick white crusty bread to dip in it. With a nice big glass of ice cold crisp white wine.

It's quite a nice thought having a meal that I don't have to plan around being type 2 diabetic. Carbs....... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I'd happily munch a bag of E ,then I wouldn't care about anything💊💊💊

@FriedaMer how funny you’ve posted that one. I’ve been making it ever since Nigella first published it and my children all absolutely love it and request it every time! I’ve never heard a reference to it anywhere else.

Beef rendang, rice + chips
Chocolate Torte with whipped cream
All with a really good Rioja or Bordeaux

A prawn baguette and enough opium to last the night 😂.

Crusty bread with a lovely blue cheese and a runny Brie. Some salad and a glass of crisp white wine. Sod it. I’ll have the bottle! Summer pudding for after.

Honestly, exactly what you put, but my dessert would be apple strudel with clotted brandy cream.

Starter: something cheesy like a baked Camembert with fruity chutney and crusty bread and loads of butter.

Main: fillet steak with dauphinoise potatoes and I want to say greens but maybe I’ll have more bread instead.

Pud: a huge pile of profiteroles with fresh cream.

Washed down with a perfect mug of Yorkshire tea and some all butter shortbread.

Chip shop chips with vinegar no salt, mushy peas, cheese and onion pasty with saveloy. Baked potato with cheese, beans and butter. Followed by 2 mince pies and brandy cream. Served with moet.
