How many "Christmas Parties" are you going to?

Just interested as every year the media goes big for "Christmas Party season" and I imagine everyone is going to a string of Christmas Parties every other night.

I'm going to three although none of them will be particularly wild!

One lunch.

YourOnMute · 27/11/2025 21:29

Four

Lifelover16 · 27/11/2025 21:32

None thank goodness.
I hate forced organised “fun”

Depends on the definition of a Christmas Party… I’d say I’m doing 4, but all very different!

1- Festive pub crawl with my friends
2- Festive pub crawl with my partners friends
3- Baby’s First Christmas Party at Baby Sensory
4- A family buffet the week before Christmas

Titsywoo · 27/11/2025 21:37

One dinner out for my business so just me, DH and the 4 staff we employ.

I am doing a few other things socially but not parties. I hate getting dressed up nowadays to be honest!

SunnieShine · 27/11/2025 21:38

None. And I can't wait not to go.😁

CandyCaneKisses · 27/11/2025 21:43

None. Nobody hosts them anymore and I cba to. There’s enough expenses at this time of year as it is which sounds miserable but it’s just the truth.

Jesus most people on her are miserable!
I have a work Christmas do, book club Christmas meal, school mums meet up, we are hosting a party with all the kids, going to pub Christmas meet up just before Christmas etc. I love it!

I'd love to be going to that many! I have a seven month old who is cramping my style a bit. I was hoping another school mum would suggest a night but I think next year I'll do it! I have a work do, nct drinks and a friend is having an actual party (but will probably have to bring my kids).

Zero.

I love Christmas, I absolutely fucking hate Christmas parties.

Ditto re [work] Christmas parties. Haven’t been to one since 2008 and since I took early retirement will never need to go again!

mindutopia · 27/11/2025 22:00

Omg, none thank god!

Figgygal · 27/11/2025 22:03

Out twice with work one is dinner and drinks the other a daytime activity with food and drinks afterwards.
Have a night out with our friendship group dinner and drinks.
Drinks with girlfriends one night

So no "parties" but few things on

Placeoftides · 27/11/2025 22:05

None, my job is to organise Christmas parties. My 50th birthday is just before Christmas, I'll be celebrating in January 😂

drspouse · 27/11/2025 22:10

None! I'm a bit sad actually. Our work do is usually quite pleasant (a civilised bunch) but nobody has organised one this year, my DCs are having Christmas skating outings from Scouts/youth group and I don't have any friend groups that do this kind of thing (actually I don't have any friend groups at all...)

828Pax · 27/11/2025 22:11

Usually just the work party but that's been cancelled this year!

TheDogsMother · 27/11/2025 22:18

As a self employed person none and I’m delighted. Work party - the ultimate oxymoron.

2old4thispoo · 27/11/2025 22:18

None. I've never been to a Christmas party.

HollyhockDays · 27/11/2025 22:18

No parties. I have a dinner, a work lunch, another dinner, a dinner with DH (wedding anniversary) and a dinner party.

My sister sometimes has a party and she occasionally goes to a party but it’s not an endless stream of house parties.

Good Housekeeping always has loads of canapé ideas for parties and always wonder who is having these parties and who can be arsed making canapés.

Forthelov · 27/11/2025 22:18

Oh good; lots of other people are also going to none.

Each to their own. That sounds like my idea of hell.

MooDengOfThailand · 27/11/2025 22:20

One. Our work party.

2chocolateoranges · 27/11/2025 22:21

I normally go to quite a few Christmas parties but this year I’ve declined.

we had a traumatic experience when out a couple of months ago as a family (we have adult children) and a random guy attacked my dd as we walked home which turned into a brawl and the police were called so I’m actually terrified to go out now.

such a shame as I’m quite a sociable person .

mondaytosunday · 27/11/2025 22:22

None, though I am going to dinner at a friends in a couple weeks. I think the most I ever went to in any given year was….one. I used to host a Christmas dinner party for about ten female friends in December but I’ve moved away from there.
I always used to be amused when fashion magazines did big features in sequined party dresses as if we were out a couple times a week!

pizzaHeart · 27/11/2025 22:23

Two meals out for sure and probably two more. All are with smart casual dress code and one or two glasses of wine at most.
One is family affair, others with friends.

Bufftailed · 27/11/2025 22:24

2 actual parties. 1 lunch

snoopymug · 27/11/2025 22:24

None. I always feel sad about it. I work from home as part of a tiny team who are based in another county. No-one arranges anything for Christmas.

I don't actually miss them, but sometimes miss dressing up.
