A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It is like the lunatics have taken over the asylum though.

SpaceRaccoon · 28/11/2025 09:02

I just can't make sense of cliff edges around tax for workers, no personal circumstances taken into account, but if you're on benefits then the same personal circumstances get you more money and it's apparently cruel otherwise. Only if you're not working though. If you're working and complain you're fair game for mocking.

Did anyone see Question Time last night with James Murray trying to defend the budget? He was annihilated both by the other panellists and the audience. The first question was “is there any point anyone working under this govt?”

Finally. Some sense emerging from everywhere. Why indeed.

The day 1 rights was in the manifesto. It was damaging nonsense but now they have broken a manifesto pledge MPs will scramble.

Kemi has definitely found her stride, and nice to see someone going after Farage and his pro-Russia stance.

Kemi Badenoch speaks into a microphone in the House of Commons with Tory party members behind her, she gestures with her hand and wears a purple top, during the delivery of the Budget in Parliament on Wednesday.

The Conservative Party leader says she was "channelling" public anger when she accused the chancellor of "whining about mansplaining".

I bet Christmas dinner will be fun around their family table!

We seem to be moving up a level on mn with Labour anger, MPs too. People kind of losing it. Hard graft time

Perhaps he should have kept his opinions to himself or just say Me and my 'Sibling' have always had different Political ideas. This as also followed though to my Niece who are dearly love, though disagree with her on the best way to run the Country.

I don't think its very nice to demonize your own family in the Daily Mail.

Agree, there’s definite cashing in on connections going on here. Very similar to the regular interviews with the PoW’s uncle.

Didn't Rachel from Accounts rent her home out to a undisclosed family member and has yet to pay them a year's worth of rent for not filing the proper paperwork? I wonder if he is closer to that side of the family?

I mean 45%, that’s strong two party type results there even in the fragmentation of votes.

Labour is the disease, and Reform is the cure.

If Labour can't galvanise the confidence of Hetton on giveaway day then they are screwed.

The foot stomping about the disastrous workers rights bill dismantlement is something to behold.

I haven't read any of the post budget threads, I don't have the patience or bandwidth to hear what Labour supporters have to say rn. Working for no salary and winding down a family business does that to a person. They can fuck off with their lies and gaslighting.

I have noticed a difference in tone in interviews with Starmer and his minions though. Angry retorts, lies and arrogance will not help them with the electorate.

They’ve totally pulled their own pin there by putting it in the manifesto.

Now they will have broken the manifesto, that’s MPs squirming over media rounds.

On another thread I have got an argument going on about the behavior of a Autistic 14 year old girl in class who the posters seem to think a 20 minute detention for being literal is wrong. My argument being Autistic myself and DS is as well is that at year 10 in a mainstream Science class an Autistic child has got start developing coping skills.

The posters responses against me state it is the Teachers fault and not that for the Autistic child to have her best life she needs to start developing skills to adapt. This to me is an example of why we have a Labour Government, because as a nation we do not need to work harder or try and change, no its left for someone else to ensure you have a comfortable life.

Has it pinged back to the Lords now? I haven't been following it closely, but last I saw, the Lords also had an issue with scrapping zero hours contracts. They wanted a change so that zero hours contracts could remain if agreed by both employee and employer iirc.
Many seasonal businesses rely on these, and many employees like them too when it suits their circumstances.

The utter muppetry that is the Labour Party. Fancy making up a plan for day one worker's rights - a child could give you a reasonable explanation of how that hurts employers and employment.

It's like they made a budget in a vacuum without ever having met a non-party political human.

I'm not sure. Could Starmer make substantive changes while the bill is at the Lords? I have no idea.

DS has had 5 detentions since Sept. I could argue that they’re all connected to his autism. At his school lessons are all doubles and he struggles to maintain concentration. However he needs to recognise when he needs a break and use his time out card. I don’t see his detentions as unfair. They are a way to teach him that whilst he is allowed some adjustments, he can not break rules.

Reading some comments elsewhere you realise how some big lottery winners end up back where they started.
