What’s for dinner today?

I went out for lunch and I had a vegetarian “mixed grill”. so I won’t be having anything later and I’m very happy that there won’t be any dishes to do. (That’s possibly the best part of eating out)

What are you having for lunch/dinner today?

Sausage, mash carrots, peas, gravy and Yorkshire puddings with a chocolate trifle and strawberry trifle for pudding.

Greenbeanmcgee · 23/11/2025 16:25

That sounds lovely. I can’t remember the last time I had trifle. I may have to buy one now.

Roast pork, roast potatoes, carrot and parsnip mash, cauliflower cheese and cabbage. Apple cake and ice cream for pudding.

JudgeBread · 23/11/2025 16:36

Chickpea, sweet potato and spinach makhani curry with garlicky flatbreads.

Sirloin tip roast with a Herm crust, roasted Mediterranean vegetables and roast potatoes.

ProfessorEmeritaVeraAtkins · 23/11/2025 16:38

herb dangit!

Gorbie · 23/11/2025 16:42

Nothing very exciting as I'm off to work in 2 hrs for a nightshift, so I'm having reheated bolognaise with some penne . Kids are having a freezer tea and husband reheated Chinese curry from last night! Did a homemade Chinese fakeaway last night which was lush 😋

FionnulaTheCooler · 23/11/2025 16:43

Lasagne.

AgnesMcDoo · 23/11/2025 16:43

Homemade chicken curry, rice and naan

NDornotND · 23/11/2025 16:44

Roast lamb, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and Yorkshire puddings (sacrilege to some to have them with anything other than beef, I know, but - meh, I like em). Raspberry cheesecake for pudding. We are sitting down at the table for once, with DS17 - we did suggest going for a pub meal, but home roast dinner was the preferred option.

We're having spag bol which I cook in the oven for two hours.. gives it a lovely flavour. We are then having hot mince pies with salted caramel ice-cream.

Chickpea, sweet potato and spinach makhani curry with garlicky flatbreads.

Would you have a recipe for this by any chance?

I have just realised that I could have probably made this with what I have in. İnstead the spinach is probably going off, but I'm making baked sweet potatoes with cottage cheese.

By pure coincidence exactly the same as this just with added cauliflower cheese and stuffing!

mamagogo1 · 23/11/2025 16:46

Pork chops, roast potatoes, veg all chopped to take 40 minutes to cook in one tray!

Gliblet · 23/11/2025 16:48

Everything 😁

We're having a family movie night so instead of a 'proper' dinner I'm doing southern spiced potato wedges, tempura prawns and pigs in blankets, buttered baguette slices, cold smoked trout, a cheese board, crudités and dips, plus crisps and nuts.

TheAlcott · 23/11/2025 16:49

Jacket potato with chive & onion cottage cheese and everything bagel seasoning. Not glamorous or exciting but it's become a Sunday night staple in the winter months.

Probably followed by greek yoghurt, blueberries, seeds and maple syrup. Or maybe a slice of the choc chip banana bread I've just baked.

Gulliver88 · 23/11/2025 16:52

Homemade burgers and salad

PaulineMush · 23/11/2025 16:53

Chinese takeaway left over from last night.

Yes, we will reheat the rice and no, we won't die.

landlordhell · 23/11/2025 16:53

Roast chicken with roasted courgettes, peppers etc served with herby bulgar wheat.

Coffeeishot · 23/11/2025 16:54

Roast chicken mash AND roast potatoes, buttered leeks and carrots.

ThankGodItsAutumn · 23/11/2025 16:56

Best mate is coming round and she's veggie so we're having Quorn sweidish meatballs with the IKEA sauce and chunky chips. Might knock up a crumble for pud.

Lasagne.

Us too!

SoapsFromAnItalianMonastery · 23/11/2025 16:59

Chicken sandwich for DH.

Chicken soup for me.

Cheese and crackers with Port.

mamaduckbone · 23/11/2025 17:00

We had roast pork and all the trimmings at 2pm, followed by sticky toffee pudding - I now feel like a stuck pig and have been on the sofa in front of the fire for the afternoon. Bloody lovely though
