What’s for dinner today?

I went out for lunch and I had a vegetarian “mixed grill”. so I won’t be having anything later and I’m very happy that there won’t be any dishes to do. (That’s possibly the best part of eating out)

What are you having for lunch/dinner today?

Salmon, broccoli and new potatoes, not exciting but lovely.

DH cooked while I soaked in the bath.

Tempura cauliflower, onion rings, vegetarian sausages(Vegetable based ones), halloumi, chargrilled corn on the cob, grilled padron peppers and stuffed mushrooms.

Oh that sounds like a really nice mixed grill! I’d even try the sausages if they were vegetable based. I don’t like meat replacements (the beyond stuff/quorn etc) but I do love actual veggies.

Easily done. I regularly get distracted. I hope that you were able to enjoy the rest of your dinner.

I did yes thanks

It was lovely though knowing my luck they’ll never offer it again. The tempura cauliflower and onion rings were clearly home made and fresh too and not from a packet.

The sausages had visible vegetables which was nice to see. I can eat soya/pea protein based sausages but like you I much prefer vegetable based products.

We had herb crusted pork chops, with garlic rice and peas, followed by some fruit, fresh pineapple, grapes, and mango with some dried cranberries sprinkled over the top, I also had a kvarg straciatella yoghurt and some walnuts.

we are both on mounjaro, me in maintenance, and our meals are now a lot healthier than they were before.

I'm very jealous of everyone's roasts but I couldn't be bothered today because I've been taxiing the kids about.

So I had the One Pot Slightly Spicy Chicken from the Mumsnet cookbook.
I chucked a few chilli flakes in to make it slightly more spicy.

Reading these I’m very jealous. I’m on the Keto fast 800 diet so had cabbage, tiny portion of home made beans and a fried egg on top. I was ‘naughty’ and had a kiwi fruit after. Diabetes is pants.

Sincere sympathies. Diabetes really is such a hard condition to live with. I hope that your leto diet pays off for you.

Hotpot

Dcs had chicken burgers and salad and beans.

I was out at a Christmas market and had a pepper and mushroom crepe with coleslaw around 3 pm and just now half a pack of liquorice.

I've lost the will re cooking lately so chuck a plate of raw crudites at the Dcs with some hummus while I cook dinner and then right now just shove something easy in the oven.

FagotsAndPeas · 23/11/2025 20:21

I cooked a gammon joint and we had it with mash, peas, carrots and parsley sauce
(My dd loves it when I make parsley sauce.)

RisenWhine · 23/11/2025 20:28

A Terry chocolate orange whisk I watch I’m a celeb

TheThingsYouDoForLurve · 23/11/2025 20:37

Roast chicken, roast potatoes, sausage meat, thyme and chestnut stuffing (home made), cauliflower cheese (home made), green beans, roasted carrots, sauted Cavelo Nero, peas and home made gravy.

And I am home alone / single with no kids. Cooking it was a bloody lovely way to spend an afternoon. I’ve got the next two days off work and am enjoying 🍷now.

whatwasthatnoise · 23/11/2025 20:54

We had pan fried salmon with a creamy/philadelphia sauce with pasta, broccoli and sweetcorn.

Harrriet · 23/11/2025 20:57

Roast pork, stuffing made with Cumberland sausages, onion, sage. Roast potatoes, swede/carrot mash, red cabbage, sprouts and cauliflower. Gravy & apple sauce.

henlake7 · 23/11/2025 21:03

Vegan chilli, 2 slices of toast and some tinned peaches.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 23/11/2025 21:07

Had a very early dinner chez dd, roast leg of lamb, loads of roast potatoes and sundry veg, apple crumble and birthday cake for SiL.

Shall now want nothing until about 2-3 am, when if I’m sleepless as usual, I shall have an apple and a bit of cheese.

Ditto. I ate at 4pm and had had a piece of rye bread at 11am. I won’t eat again but will be ravenous at 5am!

me24x · 23/11/2025 21:20

I made roast chicken and gammon with dauphinoise, roasties, roast carrots and parsnips, green beans and Yorkshire pudding. With a load of gravy and cranberry sauce and homemade brownies for dessert. It was divine!

RosesAndHellebores · 23/11/2025 21:21

Roast loin of pork with crackling, roast potatoes, chantenay carrots, broccoli, peas, Bramley apple sauce, cider gravy. Fresh fruot salad with a ball of lemon sorbet. We had a late breakfast, no lunch and had an early dinner at 6pm.

StruggleFlourish · 24/11/2025 18:54

Probably nothing.
I had lunch and that's more than I usually have midday, I'll probably have a cup of black coffee later and if I feel peckish towards dinner time I'll have some homemade soup. No crackers, no bread, no biscuits, just the homemade vegetable soup.

Placestogo · 24/11/2025 18:55

DS and DP are doing chicken fajitas for DS’s DOE….
