What's your favourite?
I've just found a jar of homemade (by a friend) plum jam dated 2021 while sorting out a neglected cupboard.
It's delicious.
My all time favourite is Bonne maman's Apricot conserve.
I also love marmalade.

We have an allotment so I make a lot of jam - gallons of plum jam in the summer, plus raspberry, blackberry, and I'm about to make some apple butter. Our cherry tree had an epic year this year and we actually got to the fruit before the pigeons did for the first time ever, so I made some cherry jam that was absolutely amazing. Also just made some quince jam from some found windfalls, which took ages but was blooming lovely. I didn't have time to strain and make quince jelly but that's the next thing I want to try. I used to follow recipes very earnestly, but now I just freewheel it with roughly equal weights of fruit and jam sugar and hope for the best.

I had always thought Tiptree Little Scarlett was The Best Jam In The World but have recently discovered Single Variety. Their Victoria blackberry jam is absolutely heavenly. Very expensive at £6.50 for a jar which is two thirds the size of a standard jam jar but still worth it.
Am about to order their Sonata strawberry now.

I saw this and thought of Paul Weller. Sorry.

I thought the same!

Yes I love it but I tend not eat it much due to the sugar content- watching my weight!
As kids we used to have lemon curd sandwiches. One night my auntie was babysitting and my sister asked for a ‘lemon piece’ (we are Scottish and a ‘piece’ is a sandwich) and she could not figure out what she meant. A lemon curd sandwich!

My favorite Paul Weller song is ‘ you do something to me’ , he is such a music legend , yet manages to stay under the radar too.

Tiswa · 20/11/2025 20:17

Stanley Road as an album is a masterpiece.

Beat Surrender still brings a tear to my eye. I was gutted when they split.

Gooseberry- as suggested on another thread. I bloody love gooseberries.

TheTecknician · 22/11/2025 18:12

Can sloes be made into jam? We've had a few frosts recently so those berries still on the bushes should be at maximum sweetness. All assuming they don't all get turned into sloe gin.

rainbowunicorn22 · 27/11/2025 16:17

when I was a child my grandmother used to make blackberry and apple jelly with apples from her garden and blackberries from bushes in the lane. it was so nice on fresh Hovis bread and butter never tasted anything like it since
