What's your favourite?
I've just found a jar of homemade (by a friend) plum jam dated 2021 while sorting out a neglected cupboard.
It's delicious.
My all time favourite is Bonne maman's Apricot conserve.
I also love marmalade.

Me too. Lifelong fan!

Not a lifelong fan, but the hugely talented Paul Weller was my first thought.

I like medlar jam, quince jelly, damson jam, and marmalade.

worrisomeasset · 20/11/2025 11:21

I think we assumed OP meant the band because the word Jam is capitalised in the heading. I saw The Jam in 1977, they were so loud my ears were still ringing three days later.

Florencesndzebedee · 20/11/2025 11:22

Yes, I get so dissapointed when they serve strawberry jam with a cream tea. Far prefer raspberry jam. Love the sound of the ginger and chilli jam from a pp. I like a savoury jam with things like duck.

Those of you who like Bonne Maman, do try their Intense version - more fruit, less sugar. You won't go back!

Knowsley · 20/11/2025 11:29

Forgot pear jam and fig jam.

ObtuseMoose · 20/11/2025 11:33

A buttered scone and a dollop of raspberry
A slice of toast and some seedless strawberry
A homemade conserve but never lemon curd
Shop boughts fine but it has to be Fortnums

That's entertainment

Lemon cheese is good.

Toast for me is for butter, and plenty of it, or a thin smear of butter followed by real honey. With jam or marmalade, no butter.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 20/11/2025 11:37

Always blackcurrant , I find many of the others just that bit too sweet. It’s my go-to for a sponge sandwich cake, too.

RisenWhine · 20/11/2025 11:39

Ugh no it’s too sweet!

my kids only recently starting liking jam as I’d never brought it before school, but school let them have it on toast and bread at after school club. I can’t stand the stuff.

CeeJay81 · 20/11/2025 11:40

Yes, always get Bonne maman Black Cherry or Blueberry when it's on offer. The odd occasion I pop to Lidl, I get their own versions too.

NotMeNoNo · 20/11/2025 11:43

Yes I love jam. It's a reminder that before fresh fruit was airfreighted all over the world all year, fruit was only seasonal and you made jam/preserves to make your glut last all year. Now I guess that's meaningless for most people.

Needmorelego · 20/11/2025 11:45

Karatema · 20/11/2025 11:18

Not any more because Afternoon Teas are, inevitably served with Strawberry or Blackcurrant which I hate!
I am a fan of cranberry sauce (which is jam by another name) so I will have that instead 😀

I tried cranberry curd once but I didn't like it.
To be honest though the recipe included alcohol and that was all I could taste rather than actual cranberries.

I saw this and thought of Paul Weller. Sorry.

Me too - it was the "J"

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 20/11/2025 11:46

You know they do an Advent Calendar?

I bought one for my mum.

ChevernyRose · 20/11/2025 11:47

My favourites are raspberry, damson, bramble or bilberry flavour

I was brought up on homeMade Jam and still love it. I have some plum and some raspberry in the cupboard, and strawberries, raspberries and brambles in the freezer.
Cant beat the smell of jam being made in the depths of winter!

AllTheWatersTurnedToClouds · 20/11/2025 11:53

I make raspberry jam with orange zest in- totally delicious

Gowlett · 20/11/2025 11:53

Follain jam / marmalade. The no sugar ones are all fruit.
They do lovely festive editions as well, chutneys etc…

Eaten trifles, eaten trifles...

crazeekat · 20/11/2025 11:54

Love it on toast and prefer homemade. Seeds and all ,mostly raspberry but love marmalade if it is extra thick and zingy.

Juliannaz · 20/11/2025 11:55

I use a small teaspoon each day in my Greek yoghurt. Raspberry it has to be

but yes. Love The Jam. Saw them all over the country in my teens. I’ve still got a tour t shirt from the eighties that I occasionally wear. Wasn’t keen on the Style Council

ChevernyRose · 20/11/2025 11:56

I like a bit mixed in with an ambrosia rice pot

GentleSheep · 20/11/2025 12:01

Yes, although now my problem is what to put it on because I'm gluten free. Have lately taken to make my own GF scones, still not as good as wheat ones, but I'm still tweaking the recipe. I love raspberry, apricot and also my own homemade redcurrant-blackberry jam (first cook down the redcurrants and strain then add that liquid to blackberries plus sugar. Delicious!
