Do you still watch Have I Got News For You?

I haven't watched it for about 20 years but didn't have any negative feelings about the show, just got a bit bored of it. I didn't actually realise it was still a thing today.

I saw some clips today of yesterday's episode online and found it surprisingly unfunny. But I don't know if that's just me - there must be an audience for the show as it keeps getting made. Similarly, I don't find Mrs Brown's Boys funny but I accept there are many people who do.

Do you still watch / enjoy Have I Got News For You?

Just looking at the guests for this series:

Zack Polanski, Nish Kumar, Cathy Newman, Lewis Goodall and Louise Haigh. All far left.

Comedians are the likes of Maisie Adam, Adil Ray, Jason Manford and Katherine Ryan, all far left.

Political pundits are Sophy Ridge and Helen Lewis, both left wing.

There isn't one person across the entire series who could be considered even a tiny bit right wing.

It's odd that they have to women or ethnic minorities on every week but the diversity doesn't extend to political views on a political satire show.

We have no idea who may have been invited to appear on the show and declined the invitation though

But most comedians and actually most people on TV in general are left wing, so this doesn't mean much really.

Far Left? I don’t think anyone could call Ian Hislop, for example, far left🤣. Who would you suggest they have on from the Right? They gave certainly had right wingers on in the past-remember Boris Johnson, Nadine Dorries, Andrea Jenkyns, Geoff Norcott..

I still watch it and enjoy it. As others have said some episodes are better than others but I always find something funny in every episode.

Jason Manford definitely isn't far left. Likewise people like Kirsty Walk, Jemima Kelly, Kelly Cates, Miles Jupp, Gabby Logan. And that's just over the last two series.Zack Polanski is leader of the Green Party, which is hardly far left.

I suspect the reality is that they invite many more right-wingers than accept, because right-wingers either don't like the programme or are worried about how they are going to come over.

The Green Party has always been the communist party with a green cloak on? Or it certainly had it's origins as that?

Agree re people like Miles Jupp etc though also Alexander Armstrong (who whined about VAT on school fees), Victoria Coren Mitchell and others too

And yes, I think Ian Hislop would chuckle a lot at the idea he's "far left " Grin

Jason Manford has written numerous posts on Twitter over the years about why anyone who doesn't think trans women are women is a right wing bigot.

That's fairly left wing.

If you don't think the Green Party are left wing then maybe have a look at their policies.

Regular Alexander Armstrong is famously far left-what with his vocal support for the famously left wing Countryside Alliance!

That's fairly left wing.

I don't think views on trans people really conform to left and right wing norms. There is a very sizeable proportion of people on the left wing who don't support the view that trans women are women.

Absolutely! I’m always bewildered when people think that being gender critical is aligned with left wing! It’s nothing to do with politics.
