Im eyeing up the single variety lemon one. OH bought their pineapple jam and loves it

Chocolately · 08/11/2025 11:41

Tiptree Tawny. Not easy to find, but the best imo.
When I do find it I get 6 jars. 😋

Hmmmmwineandchocs · 08/11/2025 11:44

I absolutely love Tiptree, I buy the no peel version

Lady Windsor Rich Seville Marmalade from Ludlow Food Centre. Deliciously dark and bitter.

Highgrove Organic Blood Orange Marmalade | Highgrove Shop & Gardens https://share.google/74TR9Z4zAwAfipNMD

This was the most delicious bought marmalade I've ever had. Only downside is the postage is almost as much as the marmalade.

I'm currently a fan of St Dalfour Orange Fruit Spread - soft French marmalade.
Depends what he prefers though.

Beamur · 08/11/2025 13:14

Bought some jam from Chatsworth (but haven't tried their marmalade) and it was really really good.
I have made my own marmalade and was surprised at how easy and delicious it was. Very hard to cut the shreds though so better if you like it chunkier.

We went to The Proper Marmalade company in Ilfracombe, there Marmalade is amazing!! As all kinds of flavours made by a small business in their own premises ...

Came on to recommend this. It’s the most similar to home-made we have ever had - not too jellied, not too sweet.

We love La Vieja Fabrica, especially their St Clements variety (orange and lemon).

I’ve just had some of their fine cut Seville orange - it is fantastic!

JBJ · 08/11/2025 13:34

I’ve tried several of the ones mentioned, and always come back to Bonne Maman as my favourite!

We love La Vieja Fabrica, especially their St Clements variety (orange and lemon).

We buy this Spanish brand all the time now. I can't get the thick cut in my supermarket nor an orange and lemon one so we just have the thin cut.

I’m going to make my own. Lakeland do a kit, a tin of prepared Seville oranges, that was £3.99! All the of the reviews said it’s much nicer than shop bought. Worth a thought!

Sainsburys do Mamade which is cheaper. I find you need much less sugar as it can be too sweet.

PomandersandRedRibbon · 08/11/2025 16:16

We normally buy cheap, I just want a few special jars for Xmas.

I've contacted the real marmalade place as well

I’d get down to a local market and buy some homemade marmalade.
Or make it yourself. It’s easy.

Owly11 · 08/11/2025 16:20

London marmalade is the best i have ever had!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 08/11/2025 17:09

I made six jars of it this afternoon.

Trust me... I've tried many and keep trying new ones.

Yet another vote for Vieja Fábrica Seville Orange (thick cut... obviously).

Netcurtainnelly · 08/11/2025 17:49

Just up my street.
We used to eat alot of Spanish marmalade.
I was lady marmalade lol.

It was the hero range they have in Spain and the Canaries.

It was so nice, we used to bring it back from holiday everytime we went. We managed to build up a stock.
The reason it was so nice is because the fruit content was high.
We couldn't find anything like it here.

My favourite is Frank Cooper’s vintage. It’s dark, chunky, caramelised & slightly bitter. Definitely not for everyone, but I love it.

Me too

Radiatorvalves · 08/11/2025 18:31

I love making marmalade. Sent DS away to uni with a pot … it didn’t last long. Fortunately marmalade season is almost upon us again. I like making it with various citrus fruit not Seville oranges…. But fun to try different options.

Timeforabitofpeace · 09/11/2025 15:55

I make marmalade. I usually freeze a few Seville oranges as well for summer time, or whenever I have more time to make it. I’m lazy and make it using a food processor, but it’s better than shop bought, because it isn’t too sweet. I know it doesn’t help you this year OP, but a thought for next year, perhaps.

I like Tiptree three fruits.

@PomandersandRedRibbon Tiptree does marmalade bundle on their website, online only.
I don’t work for them, it’s just your thread got me thinking as my DH likes marmalade as well.
