What the hell is bleaching he’s hoody’s?

This has been happening for weeks and I’m baffled. No bleach has been used. No bleach in or around the machine and it’s only certain hoody’s not all. I’ve had to bin so many it’s a joke. I’ve just pulled this out of the washing machine and it’s got bleach stains, nothing else in the load has stains just this? What am I missing? Anyone had this I feel like I’m going mad! I’ve added some photos to show you what I mean.

I have no idea but honestly I cannot stand it when people write he's. I'm sorry I never correct people on here usually.
The word is HIS

He’s can also be regional dialect. My nan used to say it.

Does he wear his hoodies to work?

With an apostrophe?!

overstimulatedhermit · 30/10/2025 00:07

So just to answer some of the suggestions.
they aren’t worn to work.
no babies
not toothpaste or lotions

the stains are mostly on the back of the hoody’s and they’re is a lot hence why I’m having to bin them.

After just talking about it with dh we’ve made a sort of a connection. The hoody’s that are getting the stains are all from tesco, and he just reminded me that it happened in the summer too with a couple of short sets that he got from tesco. It must be that that’s the only reasonable explanation

It’s really not a big deal. Some say he’s some says his we all know what we mean

Has he been mopping up after having personal moments of enjoyment.

Do you use pods or put detergent straight in the drum?

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 30/10/2025 00:29

Probably poor quality dyes in the hoodies. You wash them and the colour comes off.

But he's means he is. It's the shortened version so it dosent makes sense in the context you've used it. You wouldn't write the title as What the hell is bleaching he is hoody's.

Fluffyblackcat7 · 30/10/2025 00:32

Is he being continually shat on by vindictive crows?

One is grammatically correct though and the other isn't. I'm not sure do know what you mean TBH.

On topic, is it only DH's hoodies that are from Tesco? If not wouldn't some of the others also be bleaching?

I think this is what it is you know. I said in my last post they they came from Tesco, so won’t be buying from there again

I’m not worried about being grammatically correct. I’m an adult if I can make out what it says then that’s enough for me.

I sprayed some demould stuff on a ceiling and some droplets landed on my clothes and ruined them. Could it be some sort of cleaning compound?

giveyourselfapresent · 30/10/2025 00:42

This has happened to some of my clothes too. I haven't figured out what it could be. It's happened to a nightie and a t shirt that I remember, and I vaguely remember it happening to some of the kids' clothes years ago. It's so weird. I wondered if it was bleaching agents in the washing powder somehow clumping in the drum and getting trapped in a fold of fabric or something during the wash.

I only ever use bleach in the toilet, and not very often, and I'm very careful when I do, so I don't see how it can be that. Plus I only notice it after a wash. It's a puzzle.

I had absolutely no idea what you meant but maybe I’ve never been to the region with this unusual dialect!

It's "hoodies", not "hoody's".

An apostrophe indicates possession.

Namechangetheyarewatching · 30/10/2025 00:57

Can't you just bung them all in with a fabric dye to save them from being thrown out?

That'll only work if they're natural fibres. If they're polyester they won't take the dye.

He’s maybe not being shat upon by the vindictive crows - but we all sure know where they hang out!
