Not a god look for Nandy

Another mini-embarrassment for govt: culture sec Lisa Nandy has been criticised by William Shawcross, the commissioner for public appointments, for not saying David Kogan donated to Labour and to her Labour leadership campaign before she nominated him as chair of new football regulator.

I'm told we can expect an exchange of letters between Nandy and Keir Starmer, but just for her to apologise, nothing more drastic. Exactly a week since a similar exchange of letters, that one from Rachel Reeves about her botched house rental admin.

I can’t believe he can get away with saying this in public 😬

It'll be jumped upon but it was an inadvertent error, he donated £2900, to an election bid 5 years ago, she didn't realise, stood back from appointments process once she did know.

Thanks, I couldn't find any more info when I posted that.

The media attacking another Labour woman, is there something they are trying to tell us?

itsgettingweird · 06/11/2025 20:26

Well they are usually trying to tell us Labour don’t have woman in their party (yet they manage to shit stir over female labour Mps all the time) and haven’t had a Labour female PM.

Can you imagine if they did?

It's insidious. And disgraceful.

placemats · 06/11/2025 22:31

My good feeling story I cannot reveal because it may be spoilers. Just to say was happy with the result.

DuncinToffee · 06/11/2025 22:36

Traitors? My favourite messed up badly at the very end but a very deserved winner.

I've no idea what you're talking about.

placemats · 06/11/2025 22:41

I'll be taking part in a Traitors themed event in January and can't wait.

Would I be great traitor or an always faithful?

DuncinToffee · 06/11/2025 22:44

I think being a traitor would be great fun, being a faithful is hard work 🕵

OP posts:

I have always said faithful as I think being a traitor is hard work.

Question time- a tory talking about trust, hah.
Go an boil yer 'head.

Defending austerity and making out the last government was God's gift. Fuck right off. The more they talk, the more I remember my anger and disgust.

BIossomtoes · 07/11/2025 08:16

Graham Stuart always makes me angry. He was particularly obnoxious last night, I’ve never seen Fiona Bruce come so close to losing it. I quite like being reminded of just how appalling they are, no acknowledgment of how dreadful they were despite being virtually obliterated last year.

Alexandra2001 · 07/11/2025 08:28

Cannot watch QT any more.

By 1030pm, i ve exceeded the amount of Reform and Tory BS i can suffer.

I'm reading Russell Jones' book "Tories the end of an error". It's good to be reminded about their utter incompetence. It's amazing what you forget.

cardibach · 07/11/2025 11:27

You forget it because it seemed scarcely believable at the time, @Cheguevarahamster

BIossomtoes · 07/11/2025 11:42

I think we forget because there was so much it’s impossible to remember all of it. It’s good to be reminded every now and then. I’ve added Jones’ book to my list, thanks for the recommendation @Cheguevarahamster.
