I'm very sensitive to something in the translucent blue/green toothpastes but I'm finding more brands are producing these nowadays.

Can you save me on attempt 4 from buying yet another coloured toothpaste?

All I want is a white paste with some whitening properties that will look after my teeth and gums.

OP posts:

Colgate max white. It’s not my favourite as it’s quite a gritty texture but it’s all white and does seem to whiten my teeth

Arm and Hammer whitening toothpaste with bicarbonate of soda.
I'm not sure if the exact name is whitening toothpaste or deep clean.
You can find it in home bargains.

Sensodyne Sensitivity and Gums, Whitening is white. Slightly unusual taste but you get used to it!

Aldi’s own brand Dentitex. It has 1450ppm fluoride, which is the same as all other top brands (and what dentists recommend).

Many toothpaste have a polymer in them that sticks them to your teeth to prolong the effect. They usually claim to protect the teeth for 12+ hours. By doing this they keep other ingredients attached to your teeth and gums one of which is SLS a foaming agent that many people are sensitive to and can cause a rash on skin or sloughing of the oral mucosa(skin). It’s a contact allergy, it’s present in lots of products but usually it’s rinsed or washed away rapidly so not in contact with the skin long enough to cause a reaction.
Look for toothpastes that don’t contain SLS or use one that doesn’t claim to act for 24hrs. Sensory do a few without SLS and any of the basic toothpastes, Colgate original, will be fine.

Gosh OP - I could have written your post myself - I hate anything other than white toothpaste. I particularly dislike the translucent paste that reminds me of glue. The trouble nowadays is that there are so many different products within the brand - it is not easy to pick up the same as you had last time. I wrote to Colgate suggesting they put a little image on the box to show you what the paste looked like - I got a polite email back saying "we'll pass your suggestion to our product development team . . . . . " Totally sympathise with you OP - I've wasted so much money throwing away toothpaste I cannot use.
