Anyone else got Covid right now?

StormySea23 · 04/10/2025 15:02

I only got OG covid twice and it was a bad cold maybe. Got the vaccines but wasn't eligible for follow up boosters.

Sunday night I started with fatigue and mild fever. Since then I've been the most ill I have been as an adult. Mon-Weds I couldn't even watch TV or listen to podcasts, the most I could manage was doomscrolling reels. Was sleeping a lot and temp kept spiking. Cough gradually got worse over time. Better from Thurs, awake more and able to watch TV but still fatigued and the cough is massively debilitating, massive coughing fits that floor me. Now looking ahead and wondering if I'll even be well enough for work on Monday or if I'll have to work out how to get a doctors note.

If you have it, how are you doing?

We've all had a similar sounding bug here, the worst only lasted a couple of days luckily (over the weekend of course!), then we've all had coughs and sore throats for a couple of weeks. Not sure if it has been covid though as we haven't tested, it could be any type of bug/virus for us. I hope you start to feel better soon.

GinGenie · 04/10/2025 16:16

Yes, started on Monday with a sore throat and went downhill from there. Never occured to me it was COVID until I tested positive this morning. Assumed I was flying as close to 'real flu' as I ever have done but looking back I also had an upset stomach in the week and my sense of taste and smell has completely disappeared. Never felt so unwell.

Slightyamusedandsilly · 04/10/2025 16:34

Had it a couple of weeks ago. For the first time, the first symptom was an upset stomach. But I've since read that is common with the recent variant. Wasn't too ill. A bit more than the average cold but I've been taking flu pills consistently and they've held off the worst aspects. DD brought it home from school so it must be doing the rounds.

Yes me! I was dreadful for a week, then an upset tummy. I've just finished the second week of it but I've managed reduced hours at work. I'm completely exhausted but it doesn't matter how much I sleep I'm still shattered.

When I last had it the exhaustion lasted 6 weeks 😥

NosferafternoonTea · 04/10/2025 18:14

Pretty sure weve had/got it.
Husband and me have had it very similiar, felt fluey and fevery for a day and shattered, upset stomach in the evening and then cold symptoms. Its been a week for me since it started and cold symptoms are now gone but im just totally exhausted. Feel so weak still and not up to doing anything really. So frustrating.
How long does this last for?

caramac04 · 04/10/2025 18:17

Me too. Just utterly fatigued. Due to have flu and Covid vaccines on Monday but I’ll have to cancel.

DumpedByText · 04/10/2025 20:06

Yes me, well I had it last week. Started with an upset tummy on the Thursday, cold symptoms on Friday and the cough, blocked nose, aches, headache on Saturday that lasted until Wednesday.

I tested on the Saturday and it came up positive straight away. The cough was horrendous for two days and then disappeared.

AnonSugar · 04/10/2025 20:28

I’m sure I had it three weeks ago. Started with body aches which progressively got worse as the day went on. Headache, toothache and jaw ache followed for a few days after. Felt like flu. My colleague caught from me a week later, same symptoms and he tested positive.

Happysinglemum72 · 05/10/2025 19:20

Yes I have it too. Never had it before … as far as I know. Been ill since last Sunday and it is far from a ‘cold’ started with body aches and pains, acid reflux ( not had that since pregnancy) bunged nose and have coughed so much my ribs hurt. One day I had bad stomach cramps too. No appetite and totally exhausted. Only get 5 days paid sick. Managed to authorise wfh for tomorrow, tbh I’m not really up to it… but no choice. Still getting temp spikes today.

Tgan · 05/10/2025 19:27

Yep 😒

Not sure if Covid but definitely some type of virus. Felt fine, went to the loo one evening and had very sudden onset of D&V and went downhill from there with stabbing throat and cough for 2 days but then what seems like flu/very bad cold since. It came on really quick.

It’s been a week now - last Wednesday I was in bed and couldn’t move. It is slowly improving but I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus still

LilyGlobe · 05/10/2025 19:35

Started with a tickly/sore throat on Monday then super tired, then tickly, wheezy cough, body aches and sore skin with high temp by Thursday. Lost taste a few days ago. Now I have a blocked nose, the worst headache that travels down my face too, I have zero energy and a bad stomach. The cough has stopped though. I spent Thursday and then today just laying on the sofa, I’m so tired

One of my colleague has had it. She spent the weekend sleeping then was online Monday - we work remotely. If you’re in the uk you can self certify for 7 days, they won’t want you coming in with Covid.

gamerchick · 05/10/2025 19:49

Yeah the new improved strains look properly nasty. Hope everyone is on the mend soon

potato08 · 05/10/2025 19:50

Mine started with a razor blade throat, headache, then horrible productive cough. I'm still coughing now, but more irritating than productive
I had some nausea, too
It's horrible and I'm fed up ☹️

Luna6 · 05/10/2025 19:53

Gosh it sounds a horrible strain. Would you have the vaccine if you could

shephardspieontoast · 05/10/2025 20:00

Yep here! Started work aches and fatigue, upset tummy and then awful cold like symptoms. Haven't been able to taste anything for a week and had a really odd pain in my jaw meaning I can't chew

Meredusoleil · 05/10/2025 20:02

I've just tested negative today after a strong positive last Monday and a weak positive last Thursday.

Mine started with an upset stomach. Then shivers, runny nose and sneezing. Then headache and fever. Then cough. Then aches and pains. Didn't have a sore throat.

The worst symptoms have been the upset stomach and cough. But the headache has been the longest lasting and still not fully gone, even now 😒

Mh67 · 05/10/2025 21:14

Can I ask a genuine question. I see people saying they are covid positive but how do you know it's covid. There is no requirement to test or isolate so why would people buy a test. Just curious

I bought a test to find out for myself. Have never had a positive test result before now and just knew it wasn't normal flu or a bad cold. So it was just to confirm my suspicions really. Also, I continued to test every few days to make sure I didn't go back to work too early and pass it on to anyone else!

I can reply for myself.
I have two CEV relatives who I care for.
Covid could kill them.

Covid vaccine is available to buy privately at boots and other pharmacies. It’s expensive though.
