The police were chasing after the car to Give him feedback on his homework were they?
Pathetic the lengths people will go to defend

What an utterly vile thing to say. He was a passenger. You have no idea what he went through on those final few minutes before he was killed.
Im interested to know what your thoughts are on him being jailed for having consensual sex with someone three months younger than him, as a result of being handed in by a vendictive racist adult.
Shame on you.

They are not black. Their religion is Sikh. And 'silly' has no place here. A young man has lost his life. Systemic racism is at the very core of this heartbreaking tragedy.

None of this is silly.

Edited

So if the girls mother reported it primarily because of her religion (Sikh if that's accurate?) Would she also be racist if she reported a white 19 year old....?
You're trying to make a protective mother into a racism issue. I highly doubt she would've been fine with the same situation and a white 19 year old boy.

Walkden · 04/10/2025 13:07

"She is an anti black racist."

Surely this is speculation? For all we know the mother in question does not approve of sex outside marriage and might similarly have reported the sex regardless of the race of the boy involved?

flyingsquirrelsagogo · 04/10/2025 13:08

Kulwinder54 · 04/10/2025 13:05

You would think this young man would have been extremely careful about what he did and who he hung out with upon release from prison, avoiding any kind of trouble with the law. It seems like either very poor judgement on his part or extremely bad luck.

Love a bit of victim blaming Angry

lala can you suggest another way for the police to catch suspects without chasing after a driver refusing to stop? They can't just allow people to get away.

The whole thing is so sad. What an end to a teenage life.

Everythinghascrumbled · 04/10/2025 09:59

Why does it make you angry about the mother who reported him for something unrelated? She wasn’t driving the car ? This likely would have happened anyway ?

Word. She is and was entitled to protect her daughter, his untimely death is nothing to do with her reporting him.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 04/10/2025 13:10

TheCatsTongue · 04/10/2025 10:36

I will reserve judgement until we find out the reason why the car he was a passenger in was blue-lighted by police and why it failed to stop.

Let’s put it that way: The driver should have stopped. The driver definitely shouldn’t have tried to evade the police. And I hope the people in the vehicle the incredibly (!) irresponsible driver collided with weren’t injured (or will make a swift recovery).

But I am still saddened by the unnecessary loss of life and have compassion for Marcus Fakana’s parents!

Anybody in a police pursuit in my experience has got something to hide.
I don’t care what colour he is and you can believe that or not.

The mother wanted her daughter away from him.
The real truth as to why will never be revealed now we’ll all be hearing about how he was studying hard to be an engineer Doctor rocket scientist and is a great loss to the world.

Oh, of course the driver was trying to get away from a police pursuit because he was going to be late for church 🙄

You are right. 👍

The driver wanting/trying to get away from the Police tells you all you need to know about his character. Hardly the example of a law abiding citizen.

As for the deceased, this is the company he chose to keep - and that has now cost him his life.

"Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" is the saying that springs to mind.

What a colossal waste all round.

This post is as scary as hell if your posting name reflects your profession.

What factual basis do you have for this shit? Or don’t facts matter to you?

WolfingtonBear · 04/10/2025 11:56

And who’s to say he wasn’t a PITA who was regularly engaging in risky behaviours? Both could equally be true with the information we have. You can’t just make things up in order to vilify a woman who reported illegal behaviour against her under age daughter - because she was in that country - because he died a year later.

If the woman wants to be able to report her almost adult daughter's boyfriend to the police because she can't bear the idea of her little darling having sex, she should go and live in a country like Dubai full time.

Windowless1995 · 04/10/2025 13:13

"She is and she has blood on her hands. I pray karma will catch up with her."

What an awful thing to pray, so spiteful and full of hate.
She doesn't have blood on her hands and she's not evil. She had no hand in the man's death.
Instead of spreading more hate, we could be thinking of the grieving family, that's where my prayer are going. Blaming an innocent woman doesn't help anyone.

Given that she and her daughter were already back in the UK when the phoned the Dubai police to report their consensual sex, this seems entirely unnecessary.

GeneralPeter · 04/10/2025 13:15

NamelessNancy · 04/10/2025 11:00

Why will you "reserve judgement"? Is there anything which could make the death of this teenage boy anything other than a terribly sad thing?

Obviously yes. Police shot two men dead in Manchester recently. One was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the other created the situation was endangering others and failed to give himself up when asked by the police. It’s terribly sad that the first person died and not terribly sad the second person died. The circumstances matter. We don’t know what was happening here. Presumably why PP said she was reserving judgment.

flyingsquirrelsagogo · 04/10/2025 13:16

Soontobe60 · 04/10/2025 12:07

Just like in this country a child under 16 cannot be deemed to have “consensual” sex, in Dubai the same applies to someone under 18. So legally, it wasn’t consensual.

I this country the police would not investigate a sexual relationship between an almost-16yo and a 16yo that is consensual unless there were other factors such as abuse, capacity etc. Surely you know this?

Perhaps you could find a way to get in touch with her and let her know your thoughts on her living arrangements?

Why would a completely unrelated incident make you more angry at the mum?

Gosh I think you need to reword the title of this thread - makes it sound like he died in a Dubai jail. Two totally separate events.
