Chance of a general election next year and Reform winning?

1000 replies

Confused78 · 25/09/2025 21:50

They are winning in the polls it seems. I've been watching Nigel Farage's Instagram, he really just talks common sense. I find myself agreeing with a lot of what he says.
I'm definitely not far right and I'm not a leftie,
I think I'm somewhere in the middle.
But I am sick of Conservative and Labour and think it's time to give a new party a chance, especially if they are going to properly tackle illegal immigrants coming over and the ones that are already here.
I don't necessarily agree with his call to deport those with Indefinite leave to remain however.

I don't care. Labour have been hugely damaging for my family and country. Look at the language being used by Labour supporters, it's divisive and downright nasty/vile. They say Reform are disgusting, well I think many Labour supporters are and yesterday's speech has fuelled division and hatred on all sides.
If I abstain from voting then I risk letting Labour in and I can't stand the thought of that. If I had a viable alternative I would look at it but I don't.

On the door knocking all say they are satisfied with the progress and that they feel safer in work and secure for the future.

I don't know anyone whose life has been hugely damaged.

A lot of people also agreed with Mussolini and Hitler and didn’t see themselves as far right or lefties so your point is?

That doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. And clearly not everyone feels like that or Labour wouldn’t be seeing the loss in support.

I gave the Coalition an entire term. I was very pleased when they brought in marriage equality.

After the Tories pushed Brexit, I stopped giving them credit for anything. But they got 5 years from me. I'm prepared to give this government the same.

That’s a pretty funky logic, and a pretty bold undertaking.

Are you quite certain that you are prepared
to underwrite this government for five years? Presumably, less 15 months…

I do.

And it’s visceral premised on real world consequences resulting from this governments actions.

But can't you see, if you vote for Reform just to get Labour out then you are voting FOR them. Regardless of the reasons you do it, if you vote for Reform, then you are voting FOR Reform.

I felt the same way at the last GE. I desperately wanted the Tories out, but there was no way on this earth that I could have voted for that snivelling little piece of shit or anyone in his party. I just could not sink that low.

That’s how I felt about Labour and Keir Starmer. Proving to be even more correct than I ever anticipated.

Oh well just because a few doors you've knocked on say that then that must be true for all UK residents.

Are most people you know train drivers / state employees and or on benefits?

Because you’re not living in the real world. Deluded.

Would you say losing your job as a direct and immediate result of the employer NI rise a negative impact?

Well don't worry - by voting in a Reform Government you'll make life an awful lot worse for people of colour in the UK.
But I suspect you don't give a flying fuck about them as long as you are better off yourself.

And you still haven't responded to my questions about the future for my Muslim boss. Worried you'll show your true colour?

What have they actually done to damage your family and what did you expect?

They’ve been in power 15 months after 14 years of Tory rule, Brexit and a pandemic. Oh and during 2 lunatics controlling the biggest countries on the planet, and at least 2 wars ongoing.

Why do people think all this can be fixed in little over a year?

Plenty have been impacted. Just because some are in a group Labour haven’t hit yet it doesn’t mean it’s the same for everyone.

Do you know what? I was all for "society" until Labour whipped up hatred against people like me and my family.
So yeh now I'm looking out purely for my loved ones and screw everyone else. Society under this version of Labour hates me so why the fuck should I care about them? Blame that on Labour.

Ive been made redundant myself. It’s crap but shit happens. And often not just due to one factor. People need to move on instead of blaming the government for everything.

How fucking dare you seek to play in minorities.
Shameful.

My DH lost his job as a direct result of the NI rise.
My family have been attacked by highly divisive language perpetuated by Phillipson and Labour because we send our child to the wrong sort of school.

My family is demonised by Labour because we are MC, aspirational and ambitious. That's a mortal sin under Labour and the language they use has encouraged personal attacks by posters on this site against me and my child.

Labour hate us yet simultaneously think we should prop up the rest of society. Well they can fuck off.

Labour playbook. Desperate and judging by their own standards.

How many female PMs have Labour had?
ZERO

How many people of colour / Ethnic minority PMs has Labour had?
ZERO

Why is that? Because they’re a deeply misogynistic and racist party. And they know it.

Watch them try to disguise a smile when they announce policies which hammer PS parents, farmers, OAPs etc.

It’s personal.

The loss of support is due to persistent talking down if this country and making people feel fearful.

I want and need to hear something positive and upbeat from Reform. Are you able to to tell me this?

pointythings · 01/10/2025 18:58

GabrielsOboe · 01/10/2025 18:26

That’s a pretty funky logic, and a pretty bold undertaking.

Are you quite certain that you are prepared

Obviously, less 15 months. I'm prepared to give them a full term because they have an enormous amount of work to do. I'm prepared to give them a full term because their commitments span the length of a full Parliament. I'm prepared to give them a full term because I am able to understand that rebuilding a neglected country can't be done in 5 minutes.

Do I think Labour have done everything perfectly? No. But I see the things they have set in motion that I consider good things - specifically improvements in workers' rights, but also the ongoing work on decriminalising abortion, the pursuit of redress from Michelle Mone, the closer ties with the EU and the reduction in migration (which is actually NOT all about the small boats).

You are entitled to disagree with me. I am entitled to think that someone who would vote for a party that will make everything so much worse just to spite the incumbent government is cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Of course it is which it's why it's now personal for me to ensure they don't get voted in at next election. Which means voting for the only party which can get them out up here.
