Teetotallers, what do you drink?

I don't drink alcohol and haven't for a good 2 years, due to always driving and not much of a social life so just got to the point I don't drink.

BUT I'm fed up of drinking fizzy drinks and fresh juices when I go out. Fevertree do some nice drinks but again most are fizzy. Cocktails are again fizzy or sweet as heck in most bars. Don't really want to do zero alcohol drinks either.

So my question...What do you drink/recommend?

AF beer or cider. Heineken do a lovely AF version. Also Becks Blue. I like a Kopparberg (spelling?) AF cider too, but they are too sweet to drink a lot of. An AF ‘mocktail’ can be fun too.

Electricrhubarb · 24/09/2025 22:08

Sparkling water.

NettleandBramble · 24/09/2025 22:09

Lime and soda. Some places have Trip. I wish they'd try harder with their soft drinks, I don't want sugary, syrupy drinks and I don't want drinks that are pretending to be alcohol.

LostMySocks · 24/09/2025 22:21

Not teetotal but often drive..

My favourites are ginger beer (a nice spicy one) or grapefruit juice mixed with tonic water.

Rexthesnail · 24/09/2025 22:44

Objectrelations · 24/09/2025 23:26

Angostura (Agnostic 😀) bitters is alcoholic just for information…

Squirrelintree · 24/09/2025 23:45

Not teetotal but absolutely love fresh mint tea (boiling water plus fresh mint leaves, much nicer than mint teabags).

secretfancydress · 24/09/2025 23:50

Blackcurrant and soda

Member974245 · 24/09/2025 23:51

Ginger beer and lime cordial with ice.

Counry · 25/09/2025 00:01

Don't go out often, but I like trip drinks the ginger one is lovely, otherwise soda with agnostic, angostura bitters😂, I love a tea as well, but it seems a bit odd on a night out supping a cup of tea, so that's at someone's house or in the day.

Question - does soda water taste different to tonic water?

Sorry if it's a dim question!

Counry · 25/09/2025 00:27

@whimsicallyprickly ,yes soda water is just carbonated water, tonic water has various botanical and quinine added.

Oh I see. So soda water is simply sparkling water? I didn't know that! Thank you

BlueEyedBogWitch · 25/09/2025 00:35

0% Martini Rosso and tonic (nicer than it sounds - tastes a bit like a negroni).
Sipsmith and tonic.
Everleaf and tonic.
Nozecco.
M&S do some okayish AF wines.
Brewdog AF beers.
Ginger ale.
Little bottles of Crodino.
Lyres do various bottles of AF spirits. DH mixes me a mean AF margarita with their triple sec.
Trip drinks.

Lime and soda
Cranberry Juice
Mocktails

Crunchymum · 25/09/2025 06:18

With a meal I'd usually stick to soft drinks. Possibly a diet coke or if they have it a cloudy lemonade.

In a pub / bar I'll have a 0% lager (or cider) or a mocktail if they serve them.

Home - special occasions - I drink Martini Vibrante with Indian tonic water.

Day to day I'm water and tea with the odd overpriced artisan coffee (love an posh and overpriced latte)

I don't like cordial or fruit juice.

Fffreeeeezing · 25/09/2025 09:19

I went to a pub the other day that had an extensive drink menu including a section for wellbeing mocktails, I had a really lovely one called social iced tea that involved three spirit social and lions mane

At like the pub, I’d probably have an AF beer or a tonic water or bitter lemon. Or sometimes I just get a tea or coffee. Or the other day I had a lime and soda. Maybe a J2O if I’m feeling like one of the kids.

I only have one usually and I don’t drink any of that, except tea and coffee, at home, so it’s pretty novel.

At home, I might have a kombucha on special occasions or I really like Botivo and tonic, but that’s more for like Christmas as I don’t tend to drink anything too exciting at home.

Livingthebestlife · 25/09/2025 09:50

Love a spicy virgin Mary, tried some alcohol free gins and they weren't bad. Mocktails are lovely too there's so many different ones, wouldn't drink tea on a night out 😂

UtterlyOtterly · 25/09/2025 09:54

Tap water.
