I really, really did not expect to like the Stacey & Joe TV show.
But I do 🤷‍♀️
Their whole set up is just lovely - extended and step family are just one big family
It's just an easy watch, very wholesome.

Crocs!

For a split second there, I thought you meant the animal! 🤣

No way! That's crazy!

It was 2016 but I turned it off. I mean come on guys.

The ACOTAR books - so not my usual kind of thing and I rolled my eyes throughout 75% of the first one and then became heroin-addict level hooked.

Universal Studios. Went on a road trip and had to stop in Orlando and thought we should go to a theme park just for the sake of the ‘experience’ fully expecting to both hate it. We absolutely loved it despite being childless adults in our 40s.

@BauhausOfEliott totally agree with ACOTAR. It's the book series that got me back into reading. I'm now deep down a romantasy fiction rabbit hole and loving it 😂.

BiggyJ · 24/09/2025 11:10

Love reading all these! 😊

@JamieCannister what was it that changed your mind about that song?

BTS (absolutely love them, only discovered them last year).

Wednesdaysotherchild · 24/09/2025 11:16

Gogglebox
holiday in Belgium (Ardennes)

Sagealicious · 24/09/2025 11:27

Capsicums. I used to hate them but I quite like them now.

sophiecygnet · 24/09/2025 09:45

When were you there? 1930s 1950s?
It has gone down a lot since, we were there about 12 months ago. We thought it foul and horrible.

What seaside town, with a good play park, zoo, shows, arcades, fair, does it better?
There's small places around Wales, but you couldn't do them on a Blackpool budget.

ChicJoker · 24/09/2025 11:36

Screamingabdabz · 23/09/2025 21:16

Blackpool. I was expecting the worse kind of tacky poverty-stricken dreary North Sea depressing shit hole but it was actually some of the best fun I’ve had. And great fish and chips!

That’s exactly how I’d describe it actually 😂

Bippybop · 24/09/2025 11:51

Bl movies or series.

I blame my son for it but im hooked.

Intrusive thoughts about the Titanic 😂🤭

Fun fact: They never show that film at sea. So at least you weren't in any danger of seeing it in the ship's cinema!

They did between Tallinn and Stockholm in 1998. I remember it clearly as this was just a few years after the previous ship of the same cruiseline doing that trip sank and hundreds of people drowned. I am not sure what the person in charge of programming was thinking. And they didn't show it once, was on loop the entire time.

What a miserable reply.
I know Blackpool has its problems, but this poster obviously had a good personal experience there.
I went a while ago as a friend had an art/performance piece on. That was good, the fish and chips were good, the Tower ballroom is a marvel, we went to see another show at an excellent art gallery and enjoyed walking along the seafront.

Whilst on the subject of Blackpool. There are lots of lovely things to do and places to visit, if you know where to look:

Stanley Park is an 1920s civic masterpiece. It’s amazing that it’s survived and is complete with boating lake and bandstand. (It’s by Blackpool Zoo, in case anyone finds themselves in the vicinity.)

The zoo is pretty good.

The Grand Theatre is a Frank Matcham masterpiece.

Tower Ballroom - beautiful.

Winter Gardens and Opera House, also very impressive.

Seven miles of genuinely golden sand, (none of your pebbly nonsense!)

Lots of money has been spent on improving the prom.

Trams!

The Tower!!!

The locals are - in the main - extremely friendly.

It is an economically deprived area, but that isn’t necessarily a reason not to visit.

A bit further up the coast are the sand dunes, which are a nationally important coastal feature, and the quite posh delights of Lytham!

Was this on your cabin TV? I meant it's not shown in ship cinemas.

They had public viewing screens/tvs all over the ship, showing I think 2 or 3 movies in rotation continuously.

Bippybop · 24/09/2025 14:02

North Sea?!! That's on the east side of the UK. The west side of the UK is the Atlantic Ocean.

Getting your what?

Myblueclematis · 24/09/2025 18:48

Gin

The really perfumey smell really put me of even tasting it so I avoided it for decades until about 12 years ago my dad gave me a big box of assorted alcohol he was clearing out and an unopened bottle of Gordons Gin was in the box. I was going to give it a way to someone but a colleague said have it with lots of ice, tonic and lemon, you'll love it.

He was right, I do, the perfect summer drink. 😆

Oh. I didn't looked at map, so was guessing. Not sure why they said about North Sea if in Blackpool.

SemiRetiredLoveGoddeess · 24/09/2025 23:31

America - moved here because I was in love fully expecting to convince him to move to England with me. I fell in love with this place I'm surrounded by the ocean and the mountains. I'm living a life I never dreamed of. The people here are warm and open and have a really positive way about them.

I've always found Americans very easy people. Just easy to talk to. They seem so relaxed and not hung up on politeness and trying not to offend. In my experience anyway
