It's a shopping list! Twin Snakes??

Duck sounds rather posh.

Quite standard otherwise, very specific on the chocolate choice - Minstrels.

Ginger, lemon, whiskey - someone has a cold?

Twin Snakes has me foxed - some sort of family shorthand? (eg we call breaded cod pieces 'fish hands' - i.e larger than fish fingers)

It's a shopping list! Twin Snakes??

the duck I’m wondering what they are doing with that
They need it to get in a row with some others if they ever divorce.

I've been around here a long time and in the past a found shopping list has usually been a bit of a topic for general chat.

You're absolutely right. Ive learned my lesson - thank you for pointing out my stupidity and sincere apologies for wasting your precious time.

There’s always one with a superiority complex OP.

I wonder if anyone has ever picked up my shopping list?

That list makes me twitch because it’s not in aisle order.

Saucery · 20/09/2025 16:40

Duplicate post

CountryShepherd · 20/09/2025 16:41

I used to do a posh dinner party dish which involved duck with a whiskey and passionfruit sauce. It was lovely! Not with a dauphinoise though - too many clashing flavours.

Perhaps they were popping to Waitrose for the passionfruit? Or had a leftover wizened one in the fruit bowl?

I like the look of that list, except the cat litter. And whisky, though DH would drink that.
Love twin snakes but if I buy them I eat the packet in one go, so I don't.

I left ours in the trolley.

I tried to post a pic @CountryShepherd but I cannot get it to load, sorry. Searching 'Haribo Twin Snakes' does bring up a picture or two, if you're interested. 😂

I also thought we all loved a shopping list. How ironic that this one attracted the vipers. Probably sours as well. Well I liked it and am seeing a 1980s style dinner party and trying to see how the chillies fit in. Surely its quicker to make crumble than buy it?

Not anymore apparently. Someone got royally chewed out a while ago for posting one. Feeling nostalgic for when it twas fields here .... Or feeling old not quite sure.

This response really made me laugh.

I see that poster hasn't been back since

A 2 second google could answer your question rather than soliciting the view of a forum surely.

Or the dedicated facebook group for found shopping lists.

Kpopdeamonhunter · 20/09/2025 17:24

How weird that I'm currently sitting munching on a packet when I came across this post!

Fatandfluffy · 20/09/2025 17:34

@RockyRogue1001 I am still alive and here thanks - have been out and about and catching up.

Fair play, if you all like discussing a strangers really normal shopping list. TBF the original post was centred around not understanding what Twin Snakes were. I didn’t know either so googled it. I wondered why op didn’t.

Do please go ahead and continue the discussion around why there’s no san pro products on a strangers list, I won’t interrupt.

I just found a packet in the cupboard, while looking for something else!

that’s really nasty, it’s a traditional Mumsnet “thing” a nice shopping list discussion, a quick google might tell you that too love?

Deadringer · 20/09/2025 17:39

Lots of alcohol, cheese, crumble and sweets, sounds like a great night in.

You're missing the point entirely - its not a fact finding mission.

It's an opportunity for a bit of whimsy, some potentially imaginative interpretations from a random list found in Tesco - something that so many posters excel at.

Honestly I'm a bit disappointed that we're talking Haribo here. I was hoping for something funnier with perhaps some mild innuendo along the way.

But as you're the strictly literal type, this has been proven to be not your sort of thread at all

Is anyone else slightly twitchy about the fact that it's been written across the lines rather than along them?

JustStopItNorasaurus · 20/09/2025 17:46

nhsmanagersanonymous · 20/09/2025 16:16

I love a list!

interesting cat litter is only non consumable, what about san pro, loo roll, fairy liquid?
I think the first few items are for a gratin?

Yes. Roast duck with a delicious gratin and broccoli.

Wish I knew where they lived. I'm in

I can tell you it's in the South West - but for security reasons, that's probably as close as I can get!

I once left one with milk; bread; cat food; exercise bike.

Sadly there were no reported findings. [glum]

You said the Twin Snakes had 'got me foxed', hence the replies. Apologies for answering your question.

You said ‘the twin snakes have got me foxed.’ So I told you what they were. Now you’re accusing me of being a ‘strictly literal’ type of person as I should have responded with some sexual innuendo

This is so bizarre
