I’m still pondering, but probably for me it would be to rid us of social media.

I’d also love for there to be no ‘beauty industry’ and corporations making money out of our perceived (invented!) imperfections.

Social media. All of them. I no longer have any but thinking how many thousands of hours wasted on them over the years makes me shudder... i also dread my kids wanting them soon...

Hitler being born feels like a good one to get rid of

BlueEyedBogWitch · 19/09/2025 23:09

The Internet, hands down. I’d get rid of the fucking thing in a heartbeat.

Religion and politics.
Ok it's two but the bloody things go hand in hand for causing chaos around the world.

The internet other than for straight emails and information dissemination. Porn, shopping (other than food) and social media can go in the bin

Goodworkifyoucangetit · 19/09/2025 23:26

My first thought was World War 1 - so much that's gone wrong started with that. But on reflection I might go for the internal combustion engine. I'm trying to think of what would make the most difference to the greatest disaster caused by humans, which is climate change.

Keenovay · 19/09/2025 23:32

Male violence towards women. I think it's akin to the effects of terrorism, so much so we almost can't imagine a world without it. There is each individual act with its individual female victim, but all of those acts cumulatively affect all women as a population, even if they don't suffer direct violence themselves.

Pirandello2404 · 19/09/2025 23:33

Social media. I can see how the internet in general can be used for good, but with social media the bad far outweighs the good, in my opinion.

I like the Internet.

The NHS as in free medical care for all according to need?

Do you want to go back to treatment being based on ability to pay?

PeanutGallerist · 19/09/2025 23:49

DCorMe · 19/09/2025 23:56

unfettered access to the internet in any way shape or form.

The internet revolution will be studied in history as we have studied the Industrial Revolution.

I despair
