What phones has everyone got?

Just wondered what have you got?

How often do people change their phones?

I've got an android Samsung s20 fe. It's quite old. But not planning on getting a new contract. No need to have the latest, old ones are good for about five years until they start to get buggy. Also CEX do an incredible 5 year warranty on 2nd hand phones so will probably do that in future.

Tbh I'd like a dumb phone but still need things like maps and banking apps and Spotify and WhatsApp so it's not really dumb.

A phone where you had a limit of say 15 apps would be good and where you could set it from the outset to never let you on Facebook would be good.

I have an old iPhone 11. Had it at least 4 years, maybe even 5. It does what I need.

QueenClinomania · 18/09/2025 20:05

Its a Samsung. Had it a few years now. I change them when the one i have stops working.

RedRiverShore5 · 18/09/2025 20:05

I have an iPhone 15PM, before that an iPhone 11, 6s and 4s, I generally hope they last 4 years and buy outright rather than contract.

paranoidnamechanger · 18/09/2025 20:06

iPhone 12 owner here. Bought four years ago, it’s still generally fine but not as quick as it used to be and it occasionally glitches. Getting the 17 next month.

PauliesWalnuts · 18/09/2025 20:06

iPhone 12 and had it 4 years. Hoping to get another two out of it.

Topseyt123 · 18/09/2025 20:08

Mine is a Google Pixel 8a. Not the newest version and wasn't even when I got it. It does all I want/need though. I'll keep it going for a few years yet.

RedRiverShore5 · 18/09/2025 20:08

I generally pass my 4 year old iPhone on to adult DS who finishes it off so it's not wasted, it's invariably newer and more pristine than the one he already has

Blarn · 18/09/2025 20:11

Samsung galaxy something. 20? Not sure. I've had it a couple of years and I use them until they stop working. I've had Samsung smart phones since they first started doing them and always keep them as long as I can.

youalright · 18/09/2025 20:11

Samsung s22 iv had it 2 years il upgrade in a year

Parker231 · 18/09/2025 20:12

iPhone 16 - upgrade every year or two

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 18/09/2025 20:15

Here's mine. I can't seem to get it to connect to the Internet, but it does have a little drawer that I rather like.

iPhone mini 13. Had it three years and desperately want it to keep going as it fits perfect in my handbag and hand ( which has arthritis so something big wouldn’t work for me)

AlwaysFreezing · 18/09/2025 20:16

I got one of the Samsung flip phones to celebrate a new job. I bloody love it. Totally extravagant.

MustTryHarderAndHarder · 18/09/2025 20:18

Pixel 8. Really like it.

I was happy with the pixel 6 but the rmonthly cost was only 2 lb more a month for a brand new phone so I decided to go for it

AlanJohnsonsBeemer · 18/09/2025 20:18

iPhone 11, will keep until it breaks or becomes unusable, Face ID has stopped working so it might be soon, unless I figure out how to change some setting as it’s getting annoying with authentication stuff for work. When the time comes, will get a newer one from Back Market to appease my guilt about the minerals and who might be made to mine them.

JustToBeMe · 18/09/2025 20:18

I have an iPhone, not sure what generation or what ever it’s called.
so long as it does what I need it to do, that’s good!

DD has a 13 mini and the ability to fit in a pocket is appealing

NoelFurlong · 18/09/2025 20:20

I have an iPhone but no idea what model. I get a new one on my contract every year, I really don’t need one but I’m always popular as I give the (not very) old ones to colleagues.

Toomanywaterbottles · 18/09/2025 20:21

iPhone 6s. It does everything I need it to.

EveryDayisFriday · 18/09/2025 20:27

I get a new phone every 2-3yrs.l, when it starts to slow down. It's a work phone so I try to get a top notch dual sim one that will work without issue whilst being used almost constantly. I do pass them down to DH then the kids every time I get a new one.

I have a Samsung Galaxy 24+ at the moment, my previous one was 22+.

cinquanta · 18/09/2025 20:30

iPhone SE. I’ve had it ages. I like it because it’s small.

Unfortunately, it’s near impossible to get a small smartphone these days.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 18/09/2025 20:38

iPhone 12

Yennefer17 · 18/09/2025 20:39

Huawei P30Pro, seven years old so that I still have Google on it. They stopped doing system updates though so I bought Samsung sth for my banking apps. I use the Huawei for everything else.

Poonu · 18/09/2025 20:40

Google Pixel 10 Pro
