Just wondered what have you got?

How often do people change their phones?

iPhone 15 Pro. I have my eye on a 17, but not in orange.

Netcurtainnelly · 18/09/2025 20:55

I was thinking of an I phone or Google pixel, they are v expensive to buy outright though.
I guess in time they will come down though.

Whatever my DP’s last phone was…and a £8.00 a month contract.

The cheap-ish option is getting a refurbished phone. If you’re getting an iPhone don’t bother getting one earlier than the 11 because it won’t be supported with updates.

Purplemist · 18/09/2025 20:58

iPhone se2020, refurbished. I got a cheap one ages ago to see if I liked it (had a Samsung before)

ACatAsleepInYourHat · 18/09/2025 21:05

I usually inherit my husband's old contract phone when he upgrades to a newer model, so currently running an oldish Samsung A21s. It does everything I need with a cheap sim-only contract from Tesco Mobile.

Silveristhecolour · 18/09/2025 21:11

Samsung s21 Ultra. I change fairly regularly, not happy with the camera and hate the curved screen, not sure what to replace it with. Much prefer android over ios. But I get my phones from CEX usually.

Baby26 · 18/09/2025 21:13

Samsung S24 Ultra. I keep phones until they break. Although I could replace more often, I'm just not bothered about having the newest.

NormaSnickers · 18/09/2025 21:15

Nothing 2a, had it about a year and am really happy with it.

Ponderingwindow · 18/09/2025 21:16

a bit shamed to admit this because I am quite frugal in most areas, but I lease the latest iPhone pro max. My new orange 17 should be arriving any day now.

BusWankers · 18/09/2025 21:18

Pixel 7s, it's great, had it 2 years.

Pixels are much cheaper than iphones.

I have an iPhone 15. I highly recommend iPhones - they are very easy to use and set up, when you upgrade everything’s where you expect it to be etc. The battery is about the only thing I’m never impressed with, but I game with mine so it’s hardly a surprise.

I don’t ever intend to change from iPhone.

GiveTheGoblinsSnacks · 18/09/2025 21:28

iPhone 16

Avenueofhope · 18/09/2025 21:35

Samsung A6. It's 7 years old. I like the decent sized screen. It does everything I need it to and I will use it until it stops working.

SummerFrog25 · 18/09/2025 21:39

Iphone15

but previous one was iphone6 & previous to that a Nokia non smart phone.

dont plan on upgrading for a long time. Just seen the prices of the new ones, might need to sell a limbi think!!

TheCurious0range · 18/09/2025 21:41

Pixel 6 had it nearly 4 years thinking about upgrading to a pixel 10 this year, Google have said they'll give me almost £300 for the old one, so I'll just buy a new one outright and stay on my Giffgaff £10 a month sim

myglowupera · 18/09/2025 21:44

iPhone 11. I’ve had it nearly 5 years now. It’s the best phone I’ve ever had but I will need to upgrade soon. I think Apple will be stopping their support for iPhone 11 early next year.

yonem · 18/09/2025 21:46

cinquanta · 18/09/2025 20:30

iPhone SE. I’ve had it ages. I like it because it’s small.

Unfortunately, it’s near impossible to get a small smartphone these days.

I’m the same! I had a first gen SE, changed to my current phone which is an iPhone 13 mini when they stopped supporting it (need security patches as I use it for work). No idea what I’m going to do when this one becomes obsolete as they don’t have a small one in the range any more!

martinitslinda · 18/09/2025 21:57

I wanted an iPhone 17 pro but now they have been released I don't like the design of them or the colours, so I went for a 16 pro instead. Going to be keeping this for at least five years.

MyAcornWood · 18/09/2025 22:00

iPhone 13 Pro Max. It’s good enough. The back is shattered and the battery is beyond wank, but it takes a lovely photo and I can look at instagram/vinted/mumsnet and whatnot so it’s fine. Second hand off CEX two years ish ago.

TheDogsMother · 18/09/2025 23:36

iPhone 16 which recently replaced an iPhone XR. I buy my phones outright and keep them for c. 5 years.

LibertyLily · 19/09/2025 01:46

Samsung S23 ultra, bought outright not on a contract. I like a square, rather than curved screen. As usual, OH will inherit it when I upgrade in a couple of years. I always used to have an iPhone, but prefer android now.

Gingerkittykat · 19/09/2025 06:19

Google Pixel 7a.

I've just paid the handset off and was looking at the pixel 9 and it is really expensive so not upgrading right now.

Aposterhasnoname · 19/09/2025 06:20

16 pro max, upgrade every two years
