Driving today and 'Endless Love' plays on the radio, I immediately think of Chandler Bing and Phoebe duetting in Friends.

Michelle Branch - Everywhere - American Pie.
Yazoo - Only You - Tim and Dawn in The Office.

The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony- Cruel Intentions.

Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley and Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits from the West Wing.

The much parodied Imogen Heap Hide and Seek scene in the OC.

Jeff Buckley singing Hallelujah multiple times in the OC

The theme from Minder (I could be so good for you by Dennis Waterman) and Roger Roger.

(about 40 mins in)

You and Me - Coronation Street Richard Hillman driving into the canal. I was only about 11 at the time but I still think of that scene everytime I hear it

Breathe Me, by Sia, always makes me think of the final scene in the final episode of Six Feet Under

Me too. That final scene was just amazing!

JustBiscoff · 17/09/2025 19:50

O Holy Night - the moving scene in Home Alone, when Kevin visits the church, and finally reconciles with his friendly elderly neighbour.

Thelessdeceived · 17/09/2025 19:51

‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ by The Black Keys in ‘Luther’ when Luther and Alice go off together and she throws his coat in the Thames.
Pretty much the entire soundtrack from ‘Dawson’s Creek’ but ‘Kiss Me’ by Sixpence None the Wiser and B*witched’d ‘Blame It on the Weatherman’.
A recent one: Talk Talk’s ‘Life’s What You Make It’ in ‘The Bear’, Series 4.
And an iconic film one: ‘Don’t You Forget About Me’ by Simple Minds at the end of ‘The Breakfast Club’, although an honourable mention should go to the mash-up version of it in ‘Pitch Perfect’.

Life on Mars at the finale to Life on Mars, when he runs and jumps off the building...

Chasing Cars in Grey's Anatomy.

We watched that episode this week as my 16 yr old is working thier way through.
Yes, I had tissues galore even though I have seen it.

Everybody’s Talkin’ by Harry Nillson as the coach drives along the seafront in The Jolly Boys Outing, Only Fools and Horses

ClaudiaWrinklemum · 17/09/2025 19:52

Long Long Time by Linda Rondstat from The Last of Us.

Not that I could hear it over the sound of my own hysterical sobbing.

How to save a life by The Fray - Scrubs when Dr Cox and JD are racing down the corridor to the coding patient.

OMG yes!! Just got the chills all over again!

Catpiece · 17/09/2025 19:55

Spinning Around: by Kylie in the scene at Chasers nightclub in The Office

Came here to say the exact same thing!

Also Sarah McLachlan’s “Full of Grace” playing over the final scenes of S2 in Buffy <sob>

Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison” as Turk lypsyncs and dances in Scrubs.

PittPony · 17/09/2025 19:57

In our house, Kansas's Carry on Wayward Son (s1, episode 21) & Survivor's Eye of the Tiger ( lip synch in s.4, episode 6) are indelibly linked to Supernatural. The show coincided with PittFoals' appearance and kept me company during midnight feeds. By some weird TV-induced osmosis, my sons' taste in music comes directly from Dean, and their height from Sam.😎

So many from Gavin & Stacey.

Smithy and Rudi rapping to American Boy.
Suddenly - Dave and Nessa's wedding.
Step Into Christmas
Do They Know it's Christmas "Doom, it's doom!"
(Something Inside) So Strong

I immediately thought Gavin and Stacey but I thought of Snow Patrol, You Could Be Happy when they both run outside on the phone

WhiteNoiseBlur · 17/09/2025 19:59

Hoolihan · 17/09/2025 16:54

With Or Without You reminds me of Ross & Rachel (we were on a break)

Only You by Yazoo, playing when Dawn comes back for Tim 😍

Same…I first heard that song watching that scene and have loved it ever since

WhiteNoiseBlur · 17/09/2025 20:02

FadedRed · 17/09/2025 18:11

The version of ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ playing in the scene when Mark Greene died in E.R.
‘Unchained melody’ sung by Robson and Jerome at the wedding reception, when Tucker’s wife Donna was seeing another man.

That version of somewhere over the rainbow will forever break my heart because of that scene

Silverbirchleaf · 17/09/2025 20:04

‘She’ - Elvis Costello, -Notting Hill film.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas always makes me think of ER so it must have featured in a Christmas episode

It was originally from ‘Meet me in St Louis’ with Judy Garland. One of my favourite Christmas films!

I love that scene- I don't think Judy Garland ever looked more beautiful than in that film.

INeedAnotherAlibi · 17/09/2025 20:22

So many Gavin and Stacey but I can’t see Gravity by Embrace when Neil the baby is born or Doris singing There is a light. Went to see Shed Seven in July and they covered that song, I spent the whole song thinking about Dor 😆 Islands in the stream and the barn dance!

TheShyMumX · 17/09/2025 20:38

I’m a Believer - the Monkees, always makes me think of Shrek

Arran2024 · 17/09/2025 20:40

We've Got Tonight by Bob Seger, but sung by one of the Righteous Brothers, as Rebecca walks down the aisle in Cheers
