Driving today and 'Endless Love' plays on the radio, I immediately think of Chandler Bing and Phoebe duetting in Friends.

All my tears by Ane Brun (Peaky Blinders)
Nights in White satin (Heartbeat)
Waiting for my real life to begin (Scrubs)

My Heartbeat one is Gimme Shelter by the Stones.

'I'm in the mood for dancing' in 'River' before we knew that River was imagining dancing with Nicola Walker's character who was dead.

I love to love by tina charles

And obviously Islands in the Stream from the barn dance episode!

I thought that would be too obvious 😂

But absolutely yes, love that song. My friend and I kill that at karaoke 🎤

Also G&S, Bryn singing Goodbye My Lover and Three Wise Men in the car 😄

Movie wise, my favourite song from Dirty Dancing is Hungry Eyes, where Penny and Johnny are teaching Baby to dance.
Whenever I hear that intro, I'm 14 years old again in the summer of 87!

Great song @NormasArse 🤣

Gonksmum · 17/09/2025 21:38

Yes to the Dido song in Love Actually.

Also, White Room by Cream when a particularly awful baddie ( murderer?) is marched through the police station in Life on Mars.

Rivers by Leon Bridges appeared in an episode on Lucifer. I was hooked immediately & had to look it up. Now would be one if my desert island discs. Just beautiful.

From a film but the cast rendition of "the way you look tonight" from Peter's Friends. Sadly, not on the soundtrack album which is a travesty.

Vienna by Ultravox - Ashes to Ashes when Gene rescues Alex from the freezer.

Strong by London Grammar - Our Girl at the of end episode 2, series 1.

Have you watched the out-takes reel of that scene? I actually cry with laughter every time I watch it 🤣🤣🤣

”Lyrical dance flap”

😂so good!

FatAgain · 17/09/2025 22:10

Fucking toploader’s Dancing in the Moonlight and their Sainsbury’s advert. Even now, 20 odd years on…. I taste barbecued sausages

Ihatewinding · 17/09/2025 22:12

Scrubs had such good music. For me it has to be Hold on hope by Guided Voices, which plays over the montage of Ben's photos, the pathologist running his samples and JD's denial before the reveal.
"Do you think I made a mistake or do you just wish I did?" Arrghhhhh so good, I can't believe Brendan Fraser was only actually in 3 episodes!

GrandTheftWalrus · 17/09/2025 22:14

Scrubs was soo good. I love the fact they said greys anatomy was about them!

The ben thing was so sad and I realised when they all posed for a photo. Then the one when Cox makes it out like they are going to Jack's birthday but its actually Ben's funeral.

squashyhat · 17/09/2025 22:17

Carol of the Bells - TWW

Auburngal · 17/09/2025 22:24

All from Only Fools and Horses
Everybody’s Talkin’ - Nilsson - Jolly Boys’ Outing
Holding Back The Years - Simply Red - Little Problems (the episode where Rodney and Cassandra get married)
Hit That Perfect Beat - Bronski Beat - To Hull and Back

ThreePears · 17/09/2025 22:25

The Batman theme tune - Del Boy and Rodney in fancy dress.

I highly recommend the podcast “Fake Doctors, Real Friends” with Zach Braff and Donald Faison. They go through every episode and have some hilarious anecdotes, as well as Bill Lawrence regularly chipping in.

Surprisingly few it seems going by this thread. Just one came to mind for me - Can't Help Falling in Love = The Snapper.

Also a few in The Commitments.

That version of Can't help falling in love is amazing.
The Snapper has to be one of my favourite films ever.

Mine would be "Anyone who knows what love is" by Irma Thomas, its forever Black Mirror now.

Choclabratwatowner88 · 17/09/2025 22:32

It’s not a scene, but when ER finished I found this video on you tube where someone done an edit for the whole 15 seasons and the song they used was wherever you will go by the calling, I always think of this the moment it starts playing.

quite a lot of songs that remind me of ER.

maneater - when Monica and Chandler visit chandlers dad 😂

a love that will last by Renee olstead in ugly Betty when Daniel and Betty dance at Hilda’s wedding

also whenever I hear I want to break free by queen it reminds me of the children in need musical skit eastenders did one year.

FastFood · 17/09/2025 22:33

Don't stop believing by the journey and very last scene of The Sopranos.

AmadeustheAlpaca · 17/09/2025 22:38

SigmundinaCafe · 17/09/2025 18:05

Both from The Sopranos:

Boston - More than a Feeling, when Tony Soprano has a funny turn at the golf club and dramatically collapses

Foreigner - Don't Stop Believin, in the closing final scene of the entire series. Perfection.

Edited

The Sopranos theme song is brilliant, don't hear it very often. The Boston song doesn't make me think of the show, but Don't Stop Believing is forever linked for me with the Sopranos Its a song about the American Dream and Tony was "Made" in America.

MagpieCastle · 17/09/2025 22:38

Single Ladies, Beyonce, in Glee football scene.

YetAnotherNewUserMoniker · 17/09/2025 22:43

With a PP on Ghost Town by the Specials - conjures the DJ on Father Ted to mind every time.

Also, Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen and Shaun of the Dead. still makes me smile!
