Fuck OFF Elon Musk

Elon Musk appeared via video link today at Tommy Robinson's Racist March wittering on about woke mind viruses and calling for the dissolution of parliament.

All I really want to say is FUCK OFF ELON MUSK.

Elon Musk stirs division in UK politics, but his real downfall is already unfolding at Tesla. In China the world’s largest EV market BYD has overtaken Tesla, Xiaomi is scaling fast with cheaper alternatives, and Nio, Xpeng, and Li Auto are squeezing Tesla from all sides. As rivals outpace him on cost, tech, and scale, Tesla’s sales will dwindle. Politics may be a game for Musk, but losing dominance in EVs will hit him harder than anything else.

I am no Musk fan-girl, but your post fails to mention the revenue growth in SpaceX and elsewhere.

I know the underlying commodities in the EV market, including lithium. Your post would seek to over-simplify a complex market.

Starmer is not fit to be PM, and Labour is not competent enough to be in government - that is abundantly clear.

TR and co are simply a channel for many people to express how they feel - they are not the answer, but ignore them at your peril, as they are a lightning conductor.

This government have managed to alienate almost every section of society - getting everyone at each other’s throats - quite an achievement.

Had they shown they were capable of ‘smashing the gangs’ as they promised, none of this ever need happen.

British people are pretty tolerant, but they have been pushed to breaking point in a number of areas.

I do not share your embarrassment being British.

I do not ignore them. I take them seriously.

That does not diminish my contempt and shame. For all of them.

estrogone · 14/09/2025 07:04

GabrielsOboe · 14/09/2025 06:57

That is down to the electorate, but I would respect the outcome of the vote.

My logic is simply this - Labour are not fit to govern. Any other party would do a better job.

Yes, that includes Reform.

But the electorate voted in Labour last election. That didn't work out so well.

Lemonandorangecheescake · 14/09/2025 07:24

estrogone · 14/09/2025 06:50

Keir is doing a shite job. That doesn't excuse the disgusting tripe that the Tommy, Nige, the Reform Party and their merry band of divisive bigots are spewing.

Did you read the thread yesterday, about the Black Mumsnetter that no longer feels safe in her own country? If not read it and weep - hopefully in shame.

I am ashamed to be British - if this is the best on offer.

I'm proud to be British.

You aren't respecting the outcome of the previous vote. Do you understand how politics works in the UK?

Did you respect the Brexit vote?

IWFH · 14/09/2025 07:40

I didn't like the result but I didn't wang on a year later demanding another one.

FOJN · 14/09/2025 07:43

I'm not a fan of Musk and I don't believe Reform is the answer but I can't see anyone on the horizon who might be the answer so I understand why people might invest their hope in something different.

This thread is fascinating though. I looked for ariel footage yesterday but all the footage I found only showed a very small part of the march, none of it panned out to where the crowd thinned so I was immediately suspicious of the attendance figures being reported. I found the Guardian footage last night and it's obvious that there were way more than 100,000 in attendance, I could believe it's closer to a million. I was surprised that the Guardian published the footage. And yet on this thread, despite the video evidence, people are refusing to accept that the officially reported numbers are inaccurate. What motivates people to deny the evidence of their own eyes?

And the OP thinking that the poll means anything - the thread title was a clarion call to like minded individuals and the poll options were not neutral.

If this is an example of the "critical thinking" that's shaping people's opinions then it's really no wonder we're screwed as a country.

And if the polls are correct,
much of the electorate is suffering from
buyers remorse.

I shall ignore your insulting language.

You do understand that there are circumstances where an early GE could be legitimately called?

As a protest against the Tories, yes.

LittleAlexHornesPocket · 14/09/2025 07:48

There's loads of stories coming out of London now about being going about their day and being subjected to racist and sexist abuse by the people who were attending this protest. Just goes to show the calibre of person supporting what these morons were saying.

That being said, 100,000 felt the need to turn up. Maybe that needs exploring. I suspect it largely comes down to poverty with anger being directed at the wrong cause. But if we don't address that poverty, the anger is only going to get worse.

Can you link to the stories please?

Thanks

My comment wasn't insulting. You have now responded with:

Yes I do - but you being unhappy with the result and a protest in London isn't one of those circumstances. Hence my question to you.

Please explain under what part of the British constitution you are suggesting that there should be another election. Or do you not respect the rules of law & Government in the UK?

ThisOldThang · 14/09/2025 08:01

I think there is a fair chance the government will collapse due to Labour voting down their own budget. They've shown that they're incapable of voting through even minor cuts to benefits and bond yields are spiking. If things escalate into a fiscal crisis, they won't be able to muster the votes needed to cut expenditure.

Why do I need to define anything to you?

All I'll say is that I'm proud to see so many people turning out to represent exactly what (I believe) the majority of the Country is feeling, and I agreed with everyone who made a speech.

Would you be quite so vocal if you agreed with the ‘foreign interference’? No, you would not.

Are you vocal about the hybrid warfare being waged on us by Moscow and Beijing? No, you are not.

You have an axe to grind - at least be honest about it.

You didn't do a search before you claimed that, did you? Hmm

Why are you insinuating that I would agree with foreign interference from Moscow and Beijing anyway? That's really weird.

Yes, I’m pretty sure most of the people who’d like Musk to fuck off and stop trying to destabilise western democracies also would like Russia and China to do likewise. To some extent he’s being their useful idiot in this. (I’m not entirely sure if china’s motives aren’t more simply about economics and power - trashing their markets wouldn’t be smart)

He regurgitated his 'left are the party of murder' thing again, totally ignoring the very recent right wing assassination of Melissa Hortman (and her husband and dog), and of course the fact that the majority of political violence has always and still is committed by the right.

His words were inflammatory and false. And what a mockery it makes of his supposed commitment to free speech that he calls on people in another country to overthrow their government because he doesn't like them.

I just googled Melissa Hortman, I hadn't seen anything on the news about her and her husbands murders at the time! That's just awful.

You don't need to explain anything to me but words matter. Let me provide an example.
I have a Muslim colleague, she wears a hijab, she was born in the UK, has a UK passport and is a British citizen.
Some people in the UK think she isn't British or is 'less British' than I am, yet when I use the term British I include her in EXACTLY the same group as me.
My issue is that people exist who declare pride in being British, yet define 'Britishness' in a way that excludes other British citizens. There were speeches at yesterday's march which made this abundantly clear.

I doubt these people had anything to say about the coordinated campaign involving foreign institutions and politicians on behalf of the Remain campaign - e.g. Obama's 'back of the line' comments or the daily Project Fear press releases from the likes of the IMF.

i wanted obama to fuck off during brexit 🤷🏻

I didn’t think he was helping at all

i am fairly positive i said it on here 🤔
