1000 replies

noblegiraffe · 13/09/2025 19:35

Elon Musk appeared via video link today at Tommy Robinson's Racist March wittering on about woke mind viruses and calling for the dissolution of parliament.

All I really want to say is FUCK OFF ELON MUSK.

I’m not sure there was anything accidental about him buying Twitter.

He tried to back out of it?

Are you happy to have Elon Musk trying to meddle with our politics? That is the topic of this thread after all.

Yes, why not?

noblegiraffe · 14/09/2025 00:54

Lemonandorangecheescake · 14/09/2025 00:53

Yes, why not?

I thought you were against foreigners taking "an opportunity to elicit control upon a country for personal gain"?

So because Labour aren’t doing a good job we should hand it over to Elon? 🙄

Yeah like Elon’s going to sort all our problems 🙄🙄🙄

ErrolTheDragon · 14/09/2025 00:57

noblegiraffe · 14/09/2025 00:50

Well of course there's the possibility that they might not want to admit that Elon Musk is attempting to meddle in our politics, but if they're happy to have him appear that the racist march then they should be big enough to admit that that's what he was there for.

Yeah, you’d have hoped so but a bit optimistic.

Lemonandorangecheescake · 14/09/2025 00:53

Yes, why not?

Why not??

Because he’s a raving lunatic that’s why not!!

Chickenbone123 · 14/09/2025 00:59

Lol it did make me laugh. I tuned in to have a nosey and arrived on Elon proclaiming, ‘fight or die Britain, fight or die!!!

Totally undramatic 😂

This is what happens when you tell people they are racist and tell people not to assimilate

Your counting is as bad as Trumps. Estimates are "up to 150,000". You got it bigly wrong.

Edited

Yeah, well. If your number system goes ‘one, two, many, lots’ (or if you want to exaggerate, for whatever motive) then the margin of error is likely to be ludicrously large.

MaryMungoMidgley · 14/09/2025 01:05

I find Mr Musk insufferable & reprehensible. He ought to mind his own business in my view.

Namitynamename · 14/09/2025 01:54

Nagginthenag · 13/09/2025 20:32

Musk has plenty of opportunity to foment division in the US. I wonder why he's really getting involved with Yaxley-Lennon? Musk is a trouble maker. He doesn't give a crap about the UK. He just enjoys using his power to stir up trouble. He is a very, very strange individual.

I think he also has a saviour complex - constantly bouncing from 1 "existential crisis" that only he can solve to the next. So far we have had:

-Global warming (admittedly a real problem but not one that needs one person to fix. Also I think he's bored of it now)

  • Birth rate COLLAPSE
  • human kinds tiny spark of consciousness disappearing unless we go into space
  • Woke mind virus and toxic empathy
-Extinction of British values/Western values. But "saving" them seems to involve destroying the best parts

And smaller problems only he can fix like those boys trapped in a cave.

It's a problem when someone with a god complex finds themself with a lot of real life power.amd money and is surrounded by people telling them how important they are.

Namitynamename · 14/09/2025 02:06

KatSlayMoon · 13/09/2025 22:29

Exactly. It’s so disheartening to see. I used to come on MN to hear from witty, intelligent, insightful women and to learn from them. Now I spend most of my time on here arguing about racism.

The internet is not real life.
That works both ways. It may well be that I get stuck in a lefty bubble on Bluesky and think everyone agrees with my views. Likewise, I think at one point Twitter algorithms (and blocking/shadow banning) did misrepresent how popular some progressive views were. But equally Twitter as run by Elon Musk isn't more representative. It's just swung wildly the other way. And even with forums like Mumsnet (which have a more traditional structure) you cant see who is posting, where they live. You also can't see all the people who AREN'T posting.

But the internet isn't real life.

AtomHeartMotherOfGod · 14/09/2025 02:26

Oh you are so right. On the radio as I was cooking; literally said aloud 'What? Fuck off Elon!'

Vowed I would never buy anything he's involved in. I really want the whole of Europe to just put two fingers up to Tesla, but in reality it wouldn't scratch the surface (unless perhaps he keeps flying into space).

GoldThumb · 14/09/2025 02:55

DuncinToffee · 13/09/2025 23:42

25 arrests and dozens of police injured so far. The violence Musk is calling for.

That’s really low tbh, I was expecting much more.
That’s nowhere near carnival for example.

The police handled the counter protesters so badly as well, they should have been kept at a much greater distance, they shouldn’t have been allowed close enough for any clashes to occur.

And there was another video I saw as well, where the police were blocking the route, where apparently this was the agreed route?

Not sure, but the video I saw of it was basically people just pushing past the police with a massive bottleneck behind. It looked pretty dangerous to be honest, with that many people behind.

GabrielsOboe · 14/09/2025 03:47

I share Musk’s desire for a dissolution of parliament and fresh GE, so that we can rid ourselves of the abomination that is this Labour Government.

I do not subscribe to violence.

GabrielsOboe · 14/09/2025 03:54

noblegiraffe · 13/09/2025 22:40

No, I want to tell someone to fuck off who is actively trying to meddle in the politics of our country when he doesn't even live here.

Do you see the difference?

Would you be quite so vocal if you agreed with the ‘foreign interference’? No, you would not.

Are you vocal about the hybrid warfare being waged on us by Moscow and Beijing? No, you are not.

You have an axe to grind - at least be honest about it.

I doubt these people had anything to say about the coordinated campaign involving foreign institutions and politicians on behalf of the Remain campaign - e.g. Obama's 'back of the line' comments or the daily Project Fear press releases from the likes of the IMF.

Yes, because Starmer is doing such a fantastic job right now 🙄

Keir is doing a shite job. That doesn't excuse the disgusting tripe that the Tommy, Nige, the Reform Party and their merry band of divisive bigots are spewing.

Did you read the thread yesterday, about the Black Mumsnetter that no longer feels safe in her own country? If not read it and weep - hopefully in shame.

I am ashamed to be British - if this is the best on offer.

Just adding my fuck off to the fuck offs.

Fuck off Elon, stop thrusting your tiny submarine into our politics.

Starmer is not fit to be PM, and Labour is not competent enough to be in government - that is abundantly clear.

TR and co are simply a channel for many people to express how they feel - they are not the answer, but ignore them at your peril, as they are a lightning conductor.

This government have managed to alienate almost every section of society - getting everyone at each other’s throats - quite an achievement.

Had they shown they were capable of ‘smashing the gangs’ as they promised, none of this ever need happen.

British people are pretty tolerant, but they have been pushed to breaking point in a number of areas.

I do not share your embarrassment being British.

Simplestars · 14/09/2025 06:57

Elon Musk stirs division in UK politics, but his real downfall is already unfolding at Tesla. In China the world’s largest EV market BYD has overtaken Tesla, Xiaomi is scaling fast with cheaper alternatives, and Nio, Xpeng, and Li Auto are squeezing Tesla from all sides. As rivals outpace him on cost, tech, and scale, Tesla’s sales will dwindle. Politics may be a game for Musk, but losing dominance in EVs will hit him harder than anything else.

GabrielsOboe · 14/09/2025 06:57

estrogone · 14/09/2025 06:51

Who would you replace that government with?

That is down to the electorate, but I would respect the outcome of the vote.

My logic is simply this - Labour are not fit to govern. Any other party would do a better job.

Yes, that includes Reform.
