No-one is mentioning Trump's stroke

CharlotteCChapel · 12/09/2025 09:12

It's like tumbleweed out there. During the live televised 9/11 remembrance service Trump's face drooped on one side.

No-one in the mainstream media seems to be mentioning it.

Ive only seen it mentioned on IHIP and the Meidas Touch.

If I want to google shit I will.

That clearly wasn’t a list of that posters thoughts, it was a copy and paste from somewhere.

If you’re going to do that shit, just post the link.

It wasn’t a link, thanks. DS just took his History GCSE and part of the revision was creating a list of how the rise of the Nazis was made possible. I saw him working on it at the dining room table, took an interest, and commented on the parallels with what’s happening today. We had an interesting conversation about it. I’ve added the last two points myself, as those happened after their rise to power, and the essay question was about what led to their power. Not everyone is as thick as you believe, and people (even 16 year-olds) can produce information.

Sure he considered her, and decided she wasn't that important. Wonderful.

He probably thinks if the baby could be safely delivered, then it is unnecessary to kill it.

It’s a big if, and one I think is not very likely. But in their mind, an abortion does not erase the trauma of rape. It only erases a human life (one I argue is not worth preserving, let’s be honest).

Blimey, how horrid. I wonder how you will expect people to react when one of your family becomes ill?

Was just thinking that.
What on earth is wrong with people?
It's disgusting wishing ill on others

"The Left insists it is fighting fascism, yet it has adopted the core fascist method: crush your opponent, not his argument."

Did you miss the bit where I said I meet energy with energy now?

When someone says ‘oh but you are acting like a fascist, that’s bad’ but has not a word to say about actual fascists, it tells me all I need to know.

I have no need or desire to be better than, more moral than, to rise above or be understanding and accommodating to fascists or anyone who would otherwise see to strip me of my rights, persecute my friends or otherwise oppress me.

The rhetoric we should is the same that tells women they should smile more, be nice and not upset men to avoid being raped or killed.

If fighting on the same level is what these people understand, that’s fine by me. I’ll meet them in the dirt. Like all bullies what these people respond to is a taste of their own medicine. I have no qualms about hurting the feelings of people who want to hurt me and people like me in worse ways.

Not a baby. And even so, uterus's aren't his to volunteer. Particularly those belonging to children.

Unborn child = embryo/foetus

Yes, you're technically correct. I think it's too late for me to edit though.
Just to clarify, I'm not 'pro-abortion', I'm 'pro-choice' - that includes increased education regarding bodily autonomy and contraception, and promoting safe and free access to contraception, alongside emotional support. Abortion isn't necessarily an easy or straightforward option, but it can be the best option. With very young girls/vulnerable girls or women it's even more imperative they are as involved in the decision making process as possible. It has to be non-biased, non-judgmental and factual advice and support!
.....ok, gets off soap box now.....

Hold ALL LEADERS to account. This should be a call from the top down saying this is not how diverse opinions are dealt with, but instead the President of America , whatever his motivations, is calling for civil unrest and using rhetoric that INCITES unrest.

I don't do X or bluesky, I prefer to make my own conclusions and judgements. I unsubscribe from inflammatory people who just want clickbait both sides. Of course there will always be mouthy people on but if they were confronted face to face they're often not quite as vocal. They don't represent me or my viewpoint. I didn't like CK or his viewpoints, didn't wish him dead, but he perished on his own viewpoints, gun rights and to have no empathy or sympathy. He just didn't think that that would apply to him only 'others' so don't be surprised if those affected by his objectionable agenda don't have any sympathy or empathy for him.

My mother always said 'choose your friends wisely you become as they are ' likewise i choose who I.listen to. Rational reasoned debate is required especially now. If these mouth pieces aren't encouraged they will have noone to feed off. Delete X and Bluesky if that is what offends, but at least be reasonable and acknowledge trumps divisive rhetoric.

To add its interesting that this has generated more airtime than the shooting of innocent children in schools....it doesn't suit the gun lobby, civil unrest, epstein agenda.

Yes, I agree with you.

I certainly am not supporting Trumps comments, and other republican politicians, it will lead to more unrest and violence.
It’s extremely irresponsible (at best).

Just for me, seeing such a large cross section of society advocating for political assassinations was scary, as I thought it was just a few nut jobs online.

I think in a way avoiding the socials is good, because it’s so depressing, but then you risk being in an echo chamber, and I think echo chambers have also contributed to the discourse.

It’s something I’ll be thinking on for the next few days for sure

I don’t think you have to be a supporter of anyone in particular to think the current online rhetoric around a death isn’t a good thing.

I didn’t say it was. I haven’t indulged in it. Yet still I am accused as part of the liberal left, of being the root cause of division, hate and violence while the right wing washes their hands of it á la Pontius Pilate.

Any decent parent would not force a child to birth any baby, let alone a rapist's baby.

Let me tell you what a so-called ‘decent’
parent did in the real life case this whole discussion is based on:

An Ohio woman allowed an illegal alien scumbag to live with them. He rapes her nine-year-old. Mom discovers the pregnancy—what does she do? Does she report her scumbag boyfriend?

No, she quietly takes her daughter to get an abortion.

Only when the case gets reported in the media by an activist (did she ever even ask herself who raped this girl) does this even get to the police. He’s arrested. So she then tries to get him a plea deal (rebuffed, thankfully) and defends him in the media. Says it’s all a misunderstanding.

Yeah. So decent.

I agree with you.

Seeing the reactions, I genuinely didn’t realise how pervasive it was across society that people basically agree with political assassinations.

And from people who would presumably genuinely think that are ‘good’ people.

I genuinely think it’s scary.

I do remember a very stark difference in posts when poor Jo Cox and David Amess were murdered. Even though both were someones partner, parent (I am aware that JCs children were much younger than DAs) , friend and by all accounts exceptional MPs, one was a terrible tragedy and one kinda deserved it for being part of a certain political party.

I would say this involvement is appropriate for a 13 or 14 year old. But I’m not sure a 9 or 10 year old is capable of understanding what is happening to her or why.

He is better than me, because he sees humanity in a rapist’s child. I cannot.

I understand the sentiment, I think, maybe this is just horribly worded?l

There are children of rape out there, and their humanity shouldn’t be brought into question. People unfortunately are not all conceived in love.

But at the same time I also would absolutely not advocate for anyone to keep the baby of rape, unless that was their wish for whatever reason.

Of course she should have reported the abuser, however allowing her daughter to access a safe abortion was the correct approach.

If she’s not capable of understanding what is happening or why, then why the hell are we forcing her to go through childbirth? Childbirth is the most brutal experience I’ve been through, and I chose it.

Alittlefeedbackwouldbenice · 12/09/2025 14:09

squidsin · 12/09/2025 13:33

God, no he's not a 'better person'. His daughter at the time was 9. Giving birth could easily kill her. So he'd be prepared to sacrifice his own child to preserve that rapist's sperm. I can't compute this at all. It's just vile.

I think when deciding if he's good or not we should put aside abortion. It's an issue which good people can be on either side of. As in there are plausible arguments for both sides even if you are strongly on one.

His views on sex roles, his racism, his nonchalance at gun deaths is enough on its own to put him firmly in the bad category for me.

There are many politicians I absolutely despise.

But I would never wish death on them for their opinions, and I would never feel any kind of joy at their demise.

And I certainly wouldn’t crow openly on sm for all and sundry to see.

I just don’t understand it.

I think certain commentators you kind of expect it from, so just kind of ignore it, but harder to do when it’s coming from angles you just wouldn’t expect.

This is why children need appropriate sex education froma fairly young age (younger than 9 or 10). Of course it would be age appropriate support, but the victim has to be involved in decision making and ongoing support available.

Have you forgotten just how nasty and spiteful Trump was towards Biden when he was looking ill and frail?

He mocked and taunted 'Sleepy Joe' mercilessly.

Yes it was mean but so was his own party insisting he was as sharp as a bell when they knew he had dementia. It was shameful to keep wheeling him out stuttering and forgetting what he was saying. I agree with pp they shouldn't be electing such elderly candidates.

Again I do not recognise that at all. I live in the next constituency along from DA’s and he was all but canonised.

I will add, before I get jumped on, I do not and did Not condone or excuse the murder if DA in any way shape or form at the time or since.

What does race have to do with it? If you’re playing that gratuitous game, here’s a white Ohio couple sentenced for raping babies.

If you don't mean Jo Cox by that, when we have very different memories of what happened!

The guy who did it had a stated right wing agenda, but of course when a hard right person murders someone on the left, we're told they're just nutters with mental health problems. If a left wing person murders someone on the right (not the case with David Amess whose murderer was linked to Islamic State, and I very much doubt with Charlie Kirk either) then the whole fabric of society is at risk because of radical leftism.
