Just musing on this as I recently told people I was taking a day off to attend my daughter's graduation and they assumed I meant from nursery 😂

I'm mid-forties and my children are 21 and 17.

I’m 45 and my kids are 7 and almost 4! Happy to see I’m not an outlier on this thread.

I'm mid 50s but 10 years ago my children were 3, 6 and 7. It will depend where you live how old parents are.

Massively this. I have moved around the UK a fair bit and at one point was far and away the oldest in a birthing class in rural Scotland... I was 28! Where I live now I think there's a wide age range of mums with children in my 15 years olds class but most seem to be in their 40s. Including me.

Ha ha - I’m 47 and my DS is 19. A colleague looked at me open mouthed when I said I had a 19 year old. I’m taking it as a compliment but loads of my similar aged colleagues have primary school kids - I’m a bit of an anomaly!

It’s not unusual to have a child at 28 is it?

BestZebbie · 09/09/2025 00:16

Mid-40s is mostly KS2 and KS3 children in my peer group (ages 7-14).
Two with adult children as well, and one who has just had a baby!

707girl · 09/09/2025 00:25

46 - 11, 12, 15, 17 and 19 but I always felt I 'started late' at 27!
